Way to go. The same is true for anyone though, male or female. Gender is no barrier to spannering on a car. It's a source of disappointment to me that my analytics says my audience is only 6-8% female. I try to make my videos inclusive for all, male or female, car nut or beginner. Welcome aboard - keep up the good work.
@@CycloneCydhere because my gf needs a bulb replaced. Telling her she can do it on her own too. Hopefully this girl doesn’t need a new computer. 😮 been through this with my girls car twice. There alright cars but when things go oddly wrong boy are they major. She has a parasitic draw on her battery from the fog lamp circuit. Ever come across this issue cyd?
Hey Cyd, I love your videos man. They are life savers. You explain everything clearly and in detail so I can fix my SAAB. It's almost like having a buddy helping you along the way. You give me the confidence to do the work myself. Thanks so much I love my SAAB and your videos help me keep it on the road so I can enjoy it.
Thanks again Cyd, I had the brake light failure warning but when I got my partner to look at the lights she said the brake light is still working, now I know why! Yet again an extremely helpful video! 👍
thank you for showing how easy it is to do ... my bigger challenge is replacing the siren cos the batteries have gone and it keeps sounding off! you got a video about that too?
Another great video. Did not know about how the rear lights work using PWM. Ah well, watching your vids you do learn something new every day. :-) thanks, vinny.
@@CycloneCyd no problem I’ve been trying to get my saab 93 aero it’s a 2007 to start it starts when it wants too had the thing for 5 months haven’t even put 1000 mile on her 😢 cars on my channel
Hi Cyd, love the videos. I keep getting all driver side rear lights fail simultaneously, new bulbs working initially then blow upon starting up a second time. It effects rear brake, positioning and indicator light. Any ideas? Thank you.
Are you sure? Pay attention at 1:50 in the video. Also, clean bulb contacts and check the condition of the negative (earth) wire in the connector. Watch this for more info ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_itEJxRSdZI.html. If this doesn't help, change the affected bulb anyway.
Another awesome video, love your content! I've got a 9-3 Aero 08. Watched your video on wiring up a relay to install LEDs in the rear. I want to replace my main beam with LEDs instead of the halogens. I've got the LEDs and a pair of resistors, and have ordered the automotive relays. Any tips/advice for getting this done? Cheers
Why, thank you! Much appreciated. No special advice, except to say follow the wiring diagram carefully and also pay special attention to the new joints. I used chock blocks because I wanted to avoid cutting the original wiring as much as possible, but over time these have given me trouble. Cut the wires and use glue lined heat shrink crimps as your wiring will be exposed to the elements. These: bit.ly/butts_shrink_glue and use decent wire strippers. These have crimpers in the handles too: bit.ly/wire_strippers choose WX-D2 type
@@CycloneCyd Hiya mate, Tried it today - worked great! But then, I came to start the car a bit later on and everything freaked out!! Got an airbag warning, abs, stability, traction everything!! And the car wouldn't start! Scared to reconnect the LEDs, any thoughts?
Yeah, TBH I've let it go a bit longer than I wanted to. Now that I've got to crash repair the rear anyway, which will mean painting the replacement bumper, I'll be doing it after Easter sometime.
Sid another great video as normal, can I ask I noticed that yours is like my 06 Aero, why is there only once plastic cover on the boot struts, i.e. on the left hand side and not the right, just like mine, any idea why its not there as it looks like there are holes for a cover and it looks cheap without
Hello chief, thanks for the great video. I have been having the left position light failure message, I have it on working, it is a proper bulb but I have no break light on.. I even if I put the correct bulb on position, the light is brighter and when I turn off the car the bulb is still on.. what can be the problem?
Thanks for your detailed video. Cyd to the rescue again as I backed into a post and destroyed my rear light and so I also have to buy the bulbs as well. I hope you are keeping healthy and well, as I hear that you’ve got a big spread of the Wuhan Flu in England!
Hey Cyde, My left rear lights are quite weak and dim, compared to the right one. Still the same problem after changing bulbs. What could be the problem, and how would I fix this?
I'm Incredibly confused. I changed the PY21W indicator bulb and ordered a Philips vision P21W bulb that does not fit either terminal for the brake light and tail. Please help!
Yes for sure. Use hand hot water only with a little washing up liquid. Remove the light unit and half fill. Close your hand over as many bulb holes as you can and give it a good shake. nRinse thoroughly with tepid water. If you need to, use a soft bottle brush to get at any stuborn dirt, but go easy, that aluminium will rub off real easy. Place in an airing cupboard or a sunny spot to allow to dry thoroughly before putting them back.
