Hello from Sweden. I completly agree. According to me, there are very few nations (outside of Scandinavia) that are as similar to Sweden as Canada. Mentality, down to earth, moral and not least the climate. This should jointly facilitate when Sweden and Canada do business. Since it is the case that you are neighbors with the States, it is natural that you buy American. But one thing you should keep in mind is how incredibly good it would be for a NATO ally in North America to acquire JAS. What opportunities to work together F-plan with Gripen's system at home instead of sending US-made plans to Sweden and vice versa. I see many advantages with a possible opening of the Gripen to Canada / Greatings from Sweden

​@@superuser4ei the civilian SAAB 2000 turboprop was the first aircraft this radar and command system was installed on and served flawlessly for a couple of decades in the Swedish airforce until SAAB and Embraer started joint development of the SAAB 39E/F as well as upgrading the GlobalEye system with this new Brazilian designed twin turbofan platform.

The downside beeing the huge size of Canada compared to the relatively short range of the SAAB-39 which would require the canadians also invested in a formation of dedicated in-flight refuelling aircraft, like the tanker versions of the C-130 Hercules or C-5 Galaxy...
