I Watch swamp people so I can catch glimpses of the Sabal Louisianas in the background and some of them have trunks that look to 4-5 feet of Wood

I have to admit anytime I see a show in Louisiana I'm scoping out the Sabals too.

My Louisiana has grown 4-5 fronds this year and it’s smaller than urs so I think it could be the climate I live in the se it’s been growing Almost as fast as my palmetto

I agree you're probably correct. It seems like they grow well in the SE but slow for me even compared to other Sabals I have.

I’m in the SE as well and mine has put out about 5 fronds, my Sabal Mexicana grows faster and has noticeably gotten much larger within the past year. Both have been in ground for 1.5 years. My Louisiana is smaller than yours also.

The Louisiana's are looking good, but the Brazoriensis looks absolutely amazing‼️ I'm very interested in what a Brazoriensis of that size goes for? I'm guessing you are located in the USA, so it would be quiet the cost to get them to Sweden, but not impossible 😊

Yes it is really starting to look good after this past summer. I’m located Portland, Oregon. This is a pretty rare palm on the west coast, I happened to get lucky in finding this one. It always pays to talk to the owner of the nursery, this palm was not for sale, it was sitting in an offsite greenhouse being neglected. As for the price I would estimate $300-$500 USD. I had to rent a cube van to get it home, and it was heavy.

I just recently got some seeds. When they germinated and have turned into little seedlings I could send you one to Sweden. I am growing them in Austria.

@@Peekcasso , that would unfortunately require a plant passport, maybe you already have one? If so, just let me know how much you want for them.

@@edialbert8035 sending them from Austria to Sweden wouldn't acquire one, since we are in the EU

Maybe sun radiation? The further north you are, the flatter the sun.
@texastropics
@texastropics 2 года назад
I think its not getting enough sun now. I'd love to move it, but Sabals don't like that at all.

@uranusneptun5239 2 года назад
@@texastropics Oh well then that must be the issue. Really? I didn't know that. I once moved a uresana that was planted out (interestingly also from a place not sunny enough) into a pot and after that back outside into the ground somewhere else. It worked flawlessly. Maybe I was just lucky then... In Europe we're not so familiar with Sabals yet. Trachys are our Sabals...
@texastropics
@texastropics 2 года назад
@@uranusneptun5239 It probably wasn't all that established, but I would refrain from moving Sabals around. Palmetto seems to be able to tolerate it, but the others not so much.

@@texastropics That's good to know! Because losing slow growing Sabals can be more painful than other species.
