My Louisiana has grown 4-5 fronds this year and it’s smaller than urs so I think it could be the climate I live in the se it’s been growing Almost as fast as my palmetto
I’m in the SE as well and mine has put out about 5 fronds, my Sabal Mexicana grows faster and has noticeably gotten much larger within the past year. Both have been in ground for 1.5 years. My Louisiana is smaller than yours also.
The Louisiana's are looking good, but the Brazoriensis looks absolutely amazing‼️ I'm very interested in what a Brazoriensis of that size goes for? I'm guessing you are located in the USA, so it would be quiet the cost to get them to Sweden, but not impossible 😊
Yes it is really starting to look good after this past summer. I’m located Portland, Oregon. This is a pretty rare palm on the west coast, I happened to get lucky in finding this one. It always pays to talk to the owner of the nursery, this palm was not for sale, it was sitting in an offsite greenhouse being neglected. As for the price I would estimate $300-$500 USD. I had to rent a cube van to get it home, and it was heavy.
I just recently got some seeds. When they germinated and have turned into little seedlings I could send you one to Sweden. I am growing them in Austria.
@@texastropics Oh well then that must be the issue. Really? I didn't know that. I once moved a uresana that was planted out (interestingly also from a place not sunny enough) into a pot and after that back outside into the ground somewhere else. It worked flawlessly. Maybe I was just lucky then... In Europe we're not so familiar with Sabals yet. Trachys are our Sabals...
@@uranusneptun5239 It probably wasn't all that established, but I would refrain from moving Sabals around. Palmetto seems to be able to tolerate it, but the others not so much.
