Our sixth studio album, “Carolus Rex”, is another example of us doing what we love the most - blending history and heavy metal. But this time, instead of writing about military history belonging to other countries, we decided to pay homage to our roots, our motherland, and our identity as Swedes. After its release on May 25, 2012, “Carolus Rex” became one of the most successful Swedish heavy metal albums ever!

I love all your albums, but if I had to choose one favorite I'd vote for Carolus Rex. Because it tells a continuing story. You have other albums that cover one specific war of course, but in no other you feel like you start the war in the first song, progress throughout the war during the coming songs and chronologically end the war with the last song. Sarajevo + Versailles obviously are doing this for WW1, but the songs between are not telling the story like Carolus Rex does.

Easily my favorite Sabaton album! There is not a single track on here that does not go hard, and I love how it starts out about Swedish history and then somehow becomes an album about Norse mythology, American G.I.s, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Sabaton never disappoints!

I listen to Sabaton since I was 11. My first Sabaton concert was in 2010. I remember it perfectly, because it was 1st of September - the day I started middle-school and the memorial day of Invasion of Poland in 1939. Even if my first ever song was "40:1" I really loved Carolus Rex album, I love it now and probably will forever

I still remember it. Just a few years ago, my first song from Sabaton I encountered on YT was "The last stand", followed by "Fields of Verdun". A few days later I bought my first three albums on CD: Carolus Rex, Great War and The last stand. In the coming month I bought all the other CDs too of course. Sadly my version of this albumb only has the 11 songs and lacks the 4 additional tracks.
