You're not the only one, my husband to this day still tears up at these stories. He spent 15 years in the Canadian military in the infantry. I will never know how he feels, I just let him be until he is ready. As a Dutch woman married to a Canadian my respect to all those who sacrifice for themselves, family, and those who never came home. Thank you

Wow, thanks! So touching! These men could have been friends, or only battle in peace on a football pitch… but as always in human history they were forced to kill each other… my great grandfather was the only generation who had to fight n both WW… with 18 in WW1, survived a bullet through his throat, with middle 40 in WW2… he was a normal man, worked, loved us grandchildren, but saw so much cruelty… glad today we have more peace in Europe today, but still not enough in the world! Thanks, greetings from Germany 👍🤘

It was. He was there as a soldier during the truce, and was not happy about it. Like, at all.

@@andrewludwig9251 I heard it, but multiple versions of it (even one where he spared Hitler's life and both his sons died in WW2, another where he was not a sniper but just storming a trench in close combat, etc), so I'm not sure about the trustworthiness of the story.

I like both, something that i like in Animation is that it shows how the General reacts of the truce, and adding more details, while the original is just so beautiful
