These norwegian engines are heavy built, very reliable to the point of beeing pretty much indestructible, it will probably outlast both you and me. Very popular back in the day among the small fishingboat fleet. Loads of them are still around. Parts are still available if you know where to look. Are you sure that you want to rip it out? Should you decide to fix it instead, give me a shout, you never know. Keep calm and carry on :)
Hi Al, thanks for your comment. I can find parts for the SABB, but I really need the space and since I will be going on a long voyage without stops, I am going for the engineless option!
"I will not comply"!!! That is music to my ears, a lone voice of reason in an insanely rule-obsessed world. Mostly these rules are made either by pernickety, meddlesome 'No Parking - Commodore' types or are a way of fleecing you for extra cash. Or both. Either way they are absolute arseholes desperate for a bit of power, and totally disinterested in human needs. I despise them. More power to you mate!!!
Hi, Corycia isn't in Palma, she is in Segur de Calafell. The engine is still in Corycia but if you are interested we can take her out of the water and remove the engine?
Hi, I am learning to give Corycia steerage using my outboard and dingy; I also have a sculling oar! True the engine has saved me on a number of occasions, but for a long voyage I feel it would be more of an adventure engineless, what do you think?
Hi, I would like, the Sabb.. I messaged you before. I have the same engine and would like it for a backup and hard to get spares. I'm in Toronto Canada. Can ship it here np. I'm also interested in the variable prop and system. I have same set up in my halcyon 27. Let me know when you take it out and a ball park shipping fee
Hi, I visited Toronto way back in 1984 on HMS Bristol, beautiful city. When I can take Corycia out of the water, I will keep you in mind for the engine.
