SABER Nero Explained - Fate / Extra Last Encore | Past & Lore - Abilities & Noble Phantasms

A bit of a correction. Nero actually did commit suicide, she wasn't assisted. However she took 3 whole days to die (according to the story) and the soldier comes back 3 times. This is actually the origin of her Thrice-Setting Sun/Invictus Spiritus skill. Also, Domus Aurea is her actual NP. Some people believe her sword skills are NPs or at that level. Rosa Ictus, Laus St. Claudius, and Fax Caelestis are normal sword techniques that get powered up inside the Domus Aurea. Nero actually does consider them to be noble phantasms... but they technically aren't. And also... yeah... Imperial Privilege is pure hax. Especially on Nero, whose ego knows no bounds.

One of the other reasons that Nero is a Saber is due to her connection to the Beast of Revelation being at its strongest as Rider. Even as Caster, she possesses skills suspiciously similar to Beasts.

One weird fact in Grand Order universe is that she constructed Domus Aurea before 60 A.D, before the great fire. This could also be the case in other timelines.

Umu! Though Imperial Previlege doens't let her use any skills she wants but any skill she believes she has the talent to use. Well Nero has a lot of confidence in herself so there aren't many skills she can't use. Awesome explained video, I'm sure to look up more of your videos

This was a really great video. I LOVED Nero in Fate/Extra and she is my strongest saber in GO. But her imperial privilege works a bit differently than you explained. It seems to be a skill a lot of great rulers seems to have, since Ozymandias has it too. But in Nero's case, the basis comes from her own delusions of how great she is and because Rome was a major trading hub in the world. Because it was a trading hub, lots of different people with different abilities and skills would visit there. And because the Roman Emperor was seen as the embodiment of Rome, her Imperial Privilege skill lets her use pretty much any ability. It's how she could qualify as a saber in the first place: She saw herself as a great swordsman, so the requirements for being a saber were lowered for her to be able to be one when she was summoned. The other side of it is that there needs to be some sort of basis for her to be able to use the skill. She can drive a car, for example, if she could convince herself that she once rode a chariot and, in her head, the two aren't too different. It's a weird skill. XD But it also means she can't copy abilities unique to other people (Like Nine Lives or whatever) since she has no real way of being able to do it. And for some reason, Imperial Privilege decided that would be the place to drop restrictions. It's very weird. The other random thing that happened is that because of her migraines, she would forget the skill she got with Imperial Privilege...except swordplay. For whatever reason, she keeps her swordsmanship no matter the class she is summoned in.

Two things to note on Nero's Aestus Domus Aurea from what was shown in Last Encore's 12th episode: -The Noble Phantasm can be countered by destroying the theater after it's activation(before the curtain rises) as demonstrated by Gawain. -Nero can set the theater aflame releasing a powerful strike as the last play of the theater, making even it's destruction into it's final play. It is very likely that this doesn't work if the whole thing is destroyed instantly in one strike, but Gawain's Excalibur Galatine was greatly weakened with no sunlight and the theater's debuff so he could only cause so much damage to make it begin to collapse.

Great video man. I have to say, while I still much prefer Stay Night Saber, I do see why people do like this Saber so much. Her personality is very entertaining, and my god is her phantasm magnificent. Easily my favourite. Then again, this is probably due to my bias since I'm a theatre fan.

Fun fact. The real Nero use to be a super huge fan of a gladiator, and actually wanted the honor of having that gladiator kill him. His aids though couldn't find him in time, so Nero had to drink poison instead (which in Rome was considered an honorable way to do it).

Huh, so that's how Nero survived Archer's Yew Bow.

Nero's proper Class that she should have been is not Rider, but a "commander-type" Servant. Nero's Riding Skill is not only not high enough to qualify for it (even if she could take care of that via cheating), she has no anecdotes of riding anything noteworthy enough of the Rider Class. No special vehicles or creatures.

While I hate the actual nero I like this nero she does seem to love her master hail to the 7 headed beast of Rome. UMU!!!

Even though I hate the fact that Nero steals the Spotlight from Tamamo... I still can't help but love her...

Her noble phantasm Aestus Domus Aurea also increases her status too right like speed, attack power, etc? For a temporary time while it’s up I believe Because it seems like it. Also when she strikes it’s not just flower petals it’s fire as well but I guess that goes without saying because she has a flame sword but the flames seem to represent something within her own resolve and I think that’s connected too the noble phantasm. I have seen it strike normally but I have also seen it strike in an extraordinary way/fashion she uses and strikes the opponent with her sword in a fast like movement blitzing passed them and cutting them-simple enough it’s just a cool looking strike 2nd I have seen her swing her sword and send which is quite literally a big wave of holy fire that will burn your soul into nothing. -fate/extella NP 3rd I have seen her strike the opponent then fire come from the opponent-based where she strikes and/or after she strikes. -grand order NP Is it safe too say that her noble phantasm could have different ways to attack the opponent and it’s up to her and her master on how she wants to use it. Because i get the feeling that her noble phantasm in particular is actually really strong and not as simple as her just making a Theater and striking the foe. (Which is what you kinda see in echoes) I think it’s pretty....”personal” lol anti-personal noble phantasm. I’ll check I could be wrong but that last part was a joke anyway. But her sword techniques within her noble phantasm go from 0 to 100 real quick. I wonder which is which (unless she says it before she does it like almost every anime signature/unique attack.)

How hilarious that servant with the largest ego through sheer will and hax, changed themselves from a meh class like lancer to Saber.

Neros trice setting sun is actually stronger (fgo) than Herculies battle continuation. while battle continuation gives more hp back it only activates once but trice setting sun activates 3 times meaning more chances for survival

ok, so AniNews, I have a suggestion if you ever feel like doing Fate/Grand Order servants. 1.) hold a poll for a servant type and choose one at random/your choice 2.) choose a singularity (hold a poll to choose the singularity?) and then post a poll for every servant in the singularity that you haven't already gone over 3.) choose 7 servants of your choice (or from suggestions) into a poll

These are really helpful to folks that are newer to the Fate series! I’m not a huge history/mythology fan either so I don’t have a lot of knowledge regarding some of the backstories. ^^ Is there anyway you could make one on Gawain?
