I have been watching cricket for 50 years. I think Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest batsman I have seen in that time. It isn't just the record-breaking number of centuries he scored that leads me to make this judgment. It is also the way he conducted himself as an ambassador for all that is best in cricket and dealt with the pressure and weight of expectation of India's cricketing public. He went out to bat with their hopes and dreams on his shoulders. It was a burden he carried lightly whilst displaying his talents in full.
@@noone-zl2di If Virat Kohli surpasses Sachin Tendulkar's achievements on the pitch then, and only then, might you be able to make your claim. However, Virat Kohli has never been and never will be a sportsman and ambassador for cricket in the way Sachin Tendulkar was/is to this day
@Kumar Shanu and udit Hit song bhai kya baat kar rhe ho players bhi insan h machine ni har match me 3 din batting kare .... phr bhi 2010 me SA ke against test series draw ki thi.. 2007 me England se test series jeeti h.. 2001 me England se test series draw ki thi... 2008 me Australia se gandi umpiring ki wajah se test series har gye the, pakistan se test series jeet kar aye the, 2009 me new zealand se series jeeti thi.... 2000-2010 ke tym hamare paas aur ache bowlers hote to har series jeet kar ate...
Player isn't one who has those stats but one who has won many matches for his team and I remember whenever Tendulkar scored a century his team loses also there are other batsman who have stats like those who nobody even talks about
And the fact that he managed that average during the time when there were legendary bowlers in every side. And rules, pitches used to assist bowlers more as well.
@@GS7999 Sachin was the best I agree but pitches support bowlers now in test cricket way more than they did in 2010s. If you see now basically every single strong test team has a bowling attack of bowlers averaging in the low 20s. At that time only SA had it I think.
@@fryliver4953wtf bruh ase toh uska white bowl cricket me avrge better hai sachin se bina wajah har jagah mat yahi shuru Kiya kro yaha tune hi shuru Kiya aur VK ne khud bola hai ki jisko dekh kar usne cricket khelna shuru kiya log usko unse compare karte hai too usko wo logo pe hasi ati hai
Sachin was in some beast form during the 2010/11 tour. Not only scored centuries in Centurion and Newlands, but dominated Steyn and Morkel on these fast, bouncy surfaces.
This man is tireless, this man is egoless, this man is a masterbatsman,,this man is a genius, this man is a complete cricketer without a doubt...love you sachchi
Above all he s a big match player and clutch player... This is the main trait i like in Sachin. If u see Virat Kohli ( excluding t20s) he s the biggest choker in big matches and crucial moments... 2013 ct final was his best innings.
@@subhokundu786 obviously virat...and remember nobody remains the greatest, virat will overtake Sachin and someday there'll be another player who'll overtake virat
After a mistake of cover drive..he ensured he didn't play that shot again and played just on backfoot cuts..Sachin learn from his mistakes very quickly...that's why is god of cricket
well it will last for a longtime i guess. England usually plays lot of tests per year, so someone might come in future.. At one point i thought Alistair cook will beat his total runs record(centuries may be 45 or 48 max) but he too couldnt.. And Virat Kohli has no chance considering his age and current numbers..
@@kirank777 Steve Smith still have chance if he plays till 2027 he is in full form because australia will play 45 test matches till 2027 but 21 century is so much difficult
@@ad534 Smith is already 34... SENA players don't play till 38-40 like their subcontinent counterparts... Max which Smith can reach is 40-45 test centuries that too if he's in form which is not guaranteed...

Yes, it could have been 150+, if umpires like bucknor had not been there to give him wrongly out on so many occassions.Love you Master. You will always be there in our hearts❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Actually, Sachin Tendulkar was completely dedicated his life for cricket. He was honest to the game, no cheating, no sledging, no aggressiveness and ego-less. Mainly the most important, he manage his life in a great way, on the field and off the field. India is proud for Sachin. 🏏🏏🏏🏏🏏🏏
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 , I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991. Everything about him is just so exceptional. He is wonderful technically and he has everything - class, speed, all the shots, and he is cool under pressure. Cricketers always talk about his amazing balance, even the Aussies. I've seen tapes of Sunil Gavaskar and if you split the screen between him and Tendulkar, they look virtually identical. I have never seen a man with such immaculate balance - it is freakish. People go to a Test match just to watch Tendulkar. I, for one, would rather watch him than bowl against him. Actually, I'm glad I'll never have to bowl to him in a Test match again, though I've been quite successful against him. He is No. 1 in my book - the best player I have ever had the privilege of bowling to. There's Steve Waugh and there's Brian Lara, who was wonderful in 1995, but Tendulkar is a class above, consistently special. The best knock I can remember him playing was at Newlands in 1997, when he was just unstoppable. We only got him thanks to a blinding catch by Adam Bacher off a hook shot, otherwise he would have gone on and on. Under Hansie Cronje we studied hard for a Tendulkar weakness. We thought he might be vulnerable, especially early in his innings, to the ball that is bowled from wide of the crease, coming back in off a good length. He might then be bowled through the gate, or be lbw, especially on English wickets. We also tried peppering him with short balls - not many top-class batters like that - but it didn't really seem to bother him. The one thing that might rattle him is being restricted. He loves scoring, and scoring quickly, and if he is frustrated, sometimes he goes out and looks for the big shot. I don't think he really gets rattled by sledging. Glenn McGrath tried it and Tendulkar just kept running at him and hitting him back over his head for four. I think that, like Steve Waugh, sledging just makes him more focused: I don't think it is a good idea to have a word. Tendulkar is already a legend so I'm not sure how he'll be remembered - what comes after legend? . He's the best in the world, one of the most magnificent players there's ever been. He's also a nice guy, a soft-hearted bloke who gives 110% and just loves playing cricket.
His career average was almost 57 at 175 matches. He got another hindered in the next match.. post that his runs suddenly dried..he played 200 tests ..and.finishes with an average of 53.. Only if he'd retired earlier..his records would reflect exactly how great he was.
This could be called his last best series in SENA. His performances in England in 2011 and Australia 2011-12 were not upto his own very high standards.
True. He averaged 35 though in both the tours. Currently our batsmen like Rahane ,Pujara ( except in Australia) struggle to even average that much in any series they play in SENA
I remember watching this match in my childhood and after the series or during the series I changed my bat's handle cover to black cover same like the one sachin had
What an awesome slow mo. Picturisation...it is one of the best ways to demonstrate of how to watch a ball, reading the pace, adjustment of the body and perfectly timing the ball... really perfect...
In SA and Aus,one needs to have a great repertoire of strokes to succeed. In England, after the ball swings, batters can score big. Ajit Agarkar and Anil Kumble have a ton each there. In Sachin's time Aus and SA were the outliers to judge the versatility of the visiting batters. And Sachin played some breathtaking knocks in SA.
Sachin sir will be always G.O.A.T for me because at his generation he played in front of quality bowlers like steyn, morkel, philander, glenn mcgrath, brett lee, Mitchell Johnson, waqar younis, wasim akram etc.
Just look at the bowling department of our team in this match, summed up by just two pacers Sreesanth and Unadkat with Bhajji as a spinner, and the 4th bowler would be either Rain, Sehwag or Sachin. How the hell could you take 20 wickets of any team with this bowling line up
Lol Ishnat Sharma was sent as night watchman at no.4 So 3 pacers Ishant, Unadkat & Sreesanth & BTW Dhoni was 1st Indian captain to draw a test series in SA.
We didn't even have fit bowlers back then, we still don't !! Dhoni carried the team through with these type of bowling attacks all his captaincy. We've now much better bowlers compared to past. We only used to have Zaheer who was injury proned too and was good with the new ball
I remember the 2000-2010 time when indian team was globally at 5-6 number , west indies pakistan Australia south africa and england were a tough side to beat or compete and at that time each n every indian knew and use to say this that whatever situation their might be sachin would atleast score a fifty , one player should step up and score along with sachin , he was that consistent with his bat❤😊
Rest are fifties,forties...no body can get century in every match..those days were the days of high quality bowlers. Not like today where bowlers are so ordinary...
No one can say about any sportsperson that he is the best, because a better player may show up one day.....But in Sachin Tendulkar's case... WE HAVE TO SAY THAT HE IS THE BEST BATSMAN EVER....!!
