I am an intermediate practitioner and I would say i'm quite flexible overall apart from my hips which are a bit stiff. I got through 25 mins of the practice before stopping it completely due to it just not being enjoyable, and i usually love the classes on this channel when i can't get to the studio. It had no flow, most poses where intermediate-advanced, a lo of advanced poses for people who are very flexible. It would have been appreciated if it was mentioned the comments what poses were covered and the difficulty of the practice, as to not discourage the practitioner. Love the channel anyways!

100% agree here... this is ridicoulouse for a general yogaclass (meaning it isn't mentioned that there are very difficult poses) also there is NO PREPERATION really either and no timy and NO ALTERNATIVES other than "just do what you can" daah!

Been teaching for 10years.. This was dangerous for a lot of students without a warm up, not a sacral flow, and no creativity. Perhaps the sacral part is making it your own? but I have to agree with you

Same. This was not at all focused on chakras. Way way waaaay too advanced and not enjoyable. I lasted 18 mins while being frustrated the whole time.

I liked the beginning part of this flow but less so the latter part. Also I felt I couldn’t connect to it emotionally/spiritually. The sacral chakra is more than just about creativity... it relates to our relationships -how we connect to others and the world and to our bodies and sexuality. It would be great if a new series of chakra balancing would be offered again given these were posted a year ago. Would love it if Andrew Sealey would do them all! Thanks to Alo Yoga for all the great videos they post. Please keep them coming! 🙏💖

I feel like there was no connection between the breath and the movement it’s only poses and the most enjoyable was probably triangle pose.

Glad to know that I’m not the only one who didn’t like the class. Some poses didn’t feel challenging whilst others were impossible to achieve by a beginner. I was tempted to stop the class few mins into it but decided to do it till the end.. not sure if that was a good idea or not 🤷‍♀️

Wow, this was definitely intense, but I loved it. I realize I can do poses I did not even think of and that there are other I need to work on. Will be doing it again. Thanks!

I came in to this class thinking it wasn’t going to be good based on the reviews I saw, but I’ve learned that opinions are subjective and it’s important to try it for yourself and I’m so glad I did! I Love moon salutations so this was right up my ally. The hard postures were challenging and the only one I could really get into was the funky headstand and that was pretty cool. The others I wasn’t even close, BUT it was something I’ve never incorporated into my practice and I’m sure with practice it’ll be easy breezy in no time. Give this class a chance. Challenge yourself. You don’t have to get into the poses perfectly. What important is you tried. Hope this helps someone

Didn’t like this class as much as the first chakra class. You really have to be very flexible to do this class as the average person isn’t this flexible. It would have been nice to be offered modifications as opposed to saying do what you can, so that I don’t sit there wondering what to do. I’d also like to hear more about this chakra and what the poses will do for our body, mind, and spirit.

It’s interesting how everyone feels different in this class. For me it was great! I loved it and the advanced poses in the end were exactly what I’m always looking for in RU-vid videos - a new challenge! I also could not do the Pose, but it’s now a new goal for me to work on it and stretch more to be able to get my foot behind my head - without holding it haha.. so yeah I love when there is a challenge and some difficult poses for me to learn ❤ thank you Alissa 🙏🏻

Oh well, at least I'm not the only one who didn't like it. I could keep up, but it was way too fast to even start feeling the poses and breath properly. And there could be offered some variations to advanced poses...

This woman needs to study proper sequencing. This had nothing to do with sacral chakra, specially with so many inversions and extreme backbends. There was not enough or proper compensation, specially after the inversions... there is not a single pose to bring the neck back to neutral, it goes from one extreme bending to the extreme opposite. This was a great choreography but poor in safety

I thought I was just really behind or maybe pathetically inflexible. I’ve never had so much trouble with poses before. When I got too the legs over the shoulders and lifting yourself up on your hands like that, I almost stopped. I enjoyed the stretching aspect and I got too see what I could eventually end up doing if I keep working at it, but honestly, I was getting aggravated and it really wrecked the vibe for me. I did the first chakra session (root) and I highly enjoyed it. It was challenging yet I felt accomplished when I was done. This was just at a completely different level in difficulty. I was expecting more on the same level as the first class. Not too mention, if I didn’t listen too my body when it tells me “okay, that’s far enough” then I probably would have hurt myself trying to balance. I appreciate this video series absolutely! Don’t get me wrong. I’m just not a fan of this particular workout. I wish there were options. Like beginner, intermediate, and advanced or something like that. Or even options within the workout for people (like me and many others by the comments) too have a more simple version of the pose OR a pose that will help build my flexibility, working up too the more advanced poses. That way I won’t feel a lull in my workout and, I won’t be inactive for a period of time, feeling utterly useless while I wait for the next instruction that’s hopefully something I can do. This woman is obviously rather advanced. So much so that it’s almost like second nature folding herself like origami. I’m here to hopefully get to that point but I’d say most of us aren’t there yet. And we need to watch the instructor too see what we are supposed to be doing. Listening would do nothing for me because I’m not familiar with all the terms. I feel like I’m being too critical. But I just wanted too put my experience down.

17 minutes in, this class makes no sense to me right now. There's not really much co-relating to the sacral chakra and the flow just seems not as flowing. And it's like I'm being rushed to complete the sequence without even understanding what's happening. Not to mention the difficulty of most of the poses, that too without any variations given. If I had to do what I can, why would I watch a class ? Lol. Also that warmup will mess up the back for most of us. The first chakra balancing class was amazing, so this one seems like a quite a let down to me. I'm not continuing this session.
@austinlokey

A tricky sequence to say the least. Lots of room for growth in my practice and I love it. Maybe a few more neck and shoulder warm ups before all the intense binds and inversions or a forewarning beforehand that this sequence is one that is best performed after a full warm up sequence. Definitely not the start your day off kind of stuff and I would of loved a heads up on that. Two questions: 1. Any suggestions on variations of cow face pose for males? My balls are getting crushed! 2. Any suggested trainings on how to get into lotus pose? This one still escapes me after many years of trying. Thank you for the practice, namaste.

I'm glad that some others found this flow to be beneficial, but I wish there was more information about the sacral chakra; what blocks it? What overstimulates it? How can these asanas serve to balance them? What is the benefit to connecting to them. I felt I was just doing pose after pose, with no connection to the spirituality most yoga practices afforded me. Disappointed.

I didn't like this class at all. There wasn't any type of flow and the positions felt forced. Plus most of the positions are entirely too difficult for someone who just wants to balance their chakras.

I appreciate this channel, it is showing me more advanced poses. I would consider myself intermediate...and this would probably be for someone who is very flexible and transitioning out of intermediate towards advanced. I do like the pacing, but as someone else commented, a bit more explicit options for those who aren't able to come near this level of flexibility would be appreciated. That, or Alo yoga might consider coming up with a rating/level system and posting it in their video descriptions. Or the description itself could have noted that advanced flexibility is needed...something...

I was hoping this class you help me find ways to improve hip flexibility and it was hard not to be self judgmental when there was so many poses I could not do. This one’s a bit more advanced, as others mentioned. But I always find myself enjoying this one and being challenged to really listen to my body and where it’s at-definitely difficult when Alissa makes the poses look so cool (like at 24:40…I didn’t even know that was humanly possible). I find the head stand and plow sequence really fun and unique. This one always inspires me to keep practicing and try new poses!

Super fun flow ... the mandala flow in the beginning is something we can everyday to warm up our bodies. For beginners, the poses will need more prep ... but for me, today, this was fun. I think this class is something we can use as a base ... then just add in our own flow to expand it and prep for the peak poses.

I found this class enjoyable and somewhat challenging! I'm sort of intermediate, I'm not in the best shape, but have a strong dance background. I was pleased that I managed the balance well, as I do not have great upper body strength, but was completely hopeless with the foot behind the head thing (something to work on) and the lotus position was great, awkward but just the right amount of challenging and felt very good!!

Most commonly uttered phrase during this sequence: "Girl, you crazy!". But what a lovely challenging flow. Nearly broke a toe falling out of the headstand, but a great challenge as I find headstand within my wheelhouse but forearm stand not to be and had some success with this. I did enjoy this very much, but maybe another chakra series with more of a yin vibe? Idk. I only commented bcuz it was requested. Not trying to hate at all. 17.8.22: day 3 of chakhra yoga. After 1 yr, I managed to hold my legs quite striaght when my hands are supporting my body. Then i can do handstand in one go with out falling. This is remarkable! I notice i put more weight on my belly which i am working on. The movement are fast. i wish it is slower so i can enjoy the transitions. The twist to being legs behind the head, my left is more flexible than my right leg, the maximum i can bring is slighly behind my head. Lots lots of creative movement here and I like it. I thought it was just me but yes i agree with most of the comments here - I didn’t feel like this was a flow as well. Day 1 was amazing but Day 2 was just a consolidation of difficult poses. Also, no proper direction was given for those who are starting or at past beginner to intermediate level. I finished it for the sake of finishing Day 2 but I went on to look for other more substantial flows.. I usually do yoga in the morning as it sets my mood for the rest of the day. This..just didn’t work for me. Have to rely on other flows and my morning coffee

I consider myself intermediate/advanced, but this class was beyond stressful. It felt as if the instructor was trying to show off rather than teach. Saying "if you can't get this far, that's fine", is not helpful; providing alternatives IS. The "chakra balancing playlist" level should ideally be at the same level of perhaps beginner/intermediate. Mentioning that it's a high-level class would be helpful. Due to this, it didn't feel accessible or even well-taught. The other instructor from day 1 was much easier to follow overall and had a great energy. This didn't feel good and left me feeling more stressed and at dis-ease.

This was not yoga, but rather the teacher showing off her advanced poses. At times it wasn’t even safe, when for example she went into several intense transitions from Plow, and she failed to mention that we shouldn’t turn our heads there. It’s like 5 minutes of those transitions, and there’s no way following her without watching the instructions. There’s nothing about the second chakra, or yoga, it’s pure gymnastics show off. I wasted my time here.

I too did not enjoy this class. Like others, the poses did feel very forced when it just comes to balancing the chakras. I also thought the speed of this class was unenjoyable. It was already a very challenging class and then on top of it we had barely any time to even attempt these challenging poses before moving on to the next. I would say even the vinyasas were very quick for anyone who is trying to follow along. This was the first class I've taken with Alissa as well and so far I'm not super into her teaching technique.

No, this completely ruined the flow for me. I'm doing chakra alignment and this simply was more of a show off than an actual class. Nothing about breathing and purposes of poses, just a woman doing her own thing on RU-vid. Not everyone is at that level of flexibility, so this "class" made no sense. Nothing spiritual about this sequence.

I hated this class, way too advanced, I did not feel any conection, felt left out, very little options were offered for the most complexe poses... teacher attitude was condescent, “if it is too much skip it” then I lost half of the class and lost focus...I had enjoyed first chakra, I will try for the other ones... I can accebpt that I am not at the right level, but a note before class may avoid unpleasent surprises for the beginner/intermediate levels

Really didn’t like this class, the sequences felt so unbalanced and unnatural and there was no warmth or flow in my body. Mind you I am flexible and don’t struggle with the poses but it felt all wrong.

I felt like it was really hard to follow and the breathing was not easy as well. Not my flow

Too fast with too many complex poses and not enough info about the chakra or time to even breath . Sacral Chakra definitely not balanced by this. I'm glad it helped some people though, maybe this belongs in an advanced playlist or something.

Way too hard / advanced. I felt left out for most of the class - just skipped through.
