Living expenses in Sacramento isn’t even that high compares to the Bay Area. If they are struggling there, hope they won’t in Texas. Because there are way less expensive nearby cities to move to and still be able to commute to work.

People come to Vegas and automatically assume the strip is the only highlight. There are so many national parks to visit in the area, the hoover dam, there are music, film and food festivals. You've got conventions of some sort every year. Concerts. There are professional football and hockey teams here. There's museums. There's more places to eat from than one can visit in a week or more. Vegas is full of things to do and see. And plenty of it is inside if you can't take the heat of the desert.

Yes it's sometimes difficult if you don't plan ahead. My wife and I invested over the years and we now own 10 properties here in California. We're in the process of liquidating two properties for a estimated net of $900,000. And the rent is rising on the rest. Am I highly educated ? Just moved to Tennessee this year but I would reccomend doing deep research on the states people aren't moving to. Imo that would be Indiana/Kentucky just make sure to do deep research. If you need the city life then perhaps Kansas City. Just remember (speaking as a Californian with Georgia roots) people are very suspicious of Californians and will question your ideals/mindset. Really look at the place you want, make a list and at least visit first. There's plenty of factories in these areas that will hire you on with no experience, then socialize from there and learn the area/drive around etc. I've moved up faster economically in Knoxville from simply socializing/driving around than in California my whole life. Plenty of work and you'll find that career within a year.

@@rs7458 make a list on pro/cons for each state (not the ones everyone talks about) definitely check out Kansas City, Indianapolis, Lexington, and even Oklahoma City/Tulsa to stay away from the hordes of people moving around. Stay away from the hotspots, I thought Knoxville was off the map but apparently it became popular after I moved sadly. Kansas City/Oklahoma city still have a western feel.if thats important to you.

@@rs7458 the reason to stay away from the popular destinations is because of the rising rents. Its true these states build faster because few regs but that takes time and the economy is throttled across the nation. The South is increasing their ports and infrastructure so that should help these areas in the long run.

Sold our house for well over market price, moved to Texas and never had one regret. California is a decent place to visit but thrive not so much. Best part 3 bedroom house in CA sold for 500k bought in Texas for 400k have 2x the amount of home now with 100k in the bank... best move my family has ever made.
