@@christopheranspach8077 There's a 7 second gap between realtime and what we see on stream. After that it would take another 5-6 seconds to put it into analysis to cheat. If the opponent was streamsniping, it would have taken at least 10-15 seconds.
I mean, I'm a 2100. Ill say 2000s are not pushovers and they can easily find moves like that. I like to believe that since naroditskys semi distracted by his walkthroughs with chat, his ideas aren't as refined as they usually are, hence why he missed ne2. So its not that far off to believe a 2000 using all of their attention, can figure out an idea by a half attentive Danya
Really incredible content. I was so invested in the game that I was genuinely dissapointed when your opponent disconnected. Analysis was also super on point
It's always such a shame when they disconnect after playing a great game. Also: Be a 2000+ rated player and play well against an opponent who blunders a piece in the opening, Twitch chat: Is this cheating??!?!
as someone under 1000, that game showed me how hard defense can be. I can't help but marvel at some of the tactics that were used this game. defense is truly an art.
Once again a testament to DN being worthy of our attention. Look at how excited he was FOR HIS OPPONENT playing good moves. And the disappointment when he disconnected, truly heartbreaking, but a beautiful game never the less.
4:24 "This move gives us an extra tempo. What shall we do with this tempo? Let me think for a second." Literary one second later: "Well here's my idea" Daniels internal CPU clock is running like x100 compared to my brain...
@@Kokurorokuko OK I didn't know he edited the games in these videos. So looking at the timer I can see it actually took 17 seconds to come up with the plan.
@@pavlos712 Sorry I don't understand. Yes I support Ukrain with all my heart in their brave defence against Russia, And I want the Ukrain people to know that we in the free democratic world still support them and do not start to forget about this war. And my profile picture (which is what I assume that you refer to?) has absolutely nothing to do with "virtue signalling" (fancy word, I had to look it up!). But I still don't see how this would have any relevance to me not noticing that this video was cut, can you please explain? And I would not say that supporting Ukraine is mainly about having high moral standards (which I think this "virtue" is about if I understood right). It only takes the empathy of a normal caring human being to support people who are beeing invaded by an aggressor who tries to destroy their country and commit genocide on their people. And if you tell me you support these actions you are really sickening me.
What a great game, it’s truly amazing how many tactical patterns and ideas you can observe in a chess game. I am not a fan of giving up a piece and try to come back from it format, but this game was totally worth that. I also think, there is no other person on the planet other than Danya who revitalizes the love for the game to “adult improvers”, who are stuck in their daily routines, and do not have much energy to play on a consistent basis, over and over again. We are so lucky to have this channel.
Danya I really appreciate your videos and lessons for free! I just play chess for fun but your insight helps me come up with really cool ideas that makes chess more fun so thanks keep it up
@@BishopStars Seems like chat was being really dumb this video. Danya literally said that he was going to intentionally throw the game and see what happens. He said he almost lost when he did the same thing 400 rating points lower. Danya said he was most likely going to lose due to intentionally playing a terrible move. Then chat accusing the guy of cheating after he was winning a game Danya said he was planning on throwing.
@@hamsterfromabove8905 At the same time, Danya is better than any 1600 even a piece down, he was just careless last game. Against a 2000 it's another story as we saw
I love the content Daniel!! I think it's awesome how you're so passionate about making quality content to help people improve their play and better understand this wonderful game. You're my favorite pro player!!! Super excited to see how much better you'll get over the years.
Love your videos danya, always the highlight of my day, and frankly wish you’d upload daily! Seen all 4 of your RU-vid speed runs from start to finish (even after you said you were only doing one😂). If you run out of content ideas would love to see a series of how to punish inaccurate responses by your opponents in openings, I find this really difficult and sometimes get smashed by those weird moves you see that take you out of book and it’s very frustrating 😂
I've watched probably 90 percent of your videos or more, THIS IS ONE of the BEST. If you ever do a greatest compilation, mark this video for inclusion of that series.
I'm a big fan of Danya analysis, really think there should be a series of analysing the great games of chess history with chat participating with questions we are all asking at home. I'm not aware of any other chess youtuber that explains so well every move and idea and what was the reasoning behind it, all while being extremely charismatic and delivering some fan service with double questionmark sacrifices for the viewers. Keep up the good work sensei!
One of my favorite videos to date. Your love for the game is contagious & your commentary during was that of the last moments of a close sporting event.
11:39 I love this phrase "smoke the queen out" Reminds me of a 'Hip tune. _That's where the hornet stung me._ _And I had a feverish dream,_ _with revenge and doubt._ _Tonight we smoke them out._
is it just me or are the games way more engaging whenever he sacrifices a piece? i feel like his commentary is better as well. i think he should do these videos more often
I usually watch the game part of his videos and skip analysis because i find it surplus as a low elo player to go into complex lines arising from near perfect play. This video however caught my interest and i watched it in its entirety. Brilliant game, brilliant analysis. Also somewhat comprehendable as a low elo player, despite the abundance of tactics.
This is truly amazing content and, at the same time, amazing instructional analysis. I love everything about this video and about this series as a whole. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication, Danya!
This is one of the best speedruns! You should consider continuesly repeating the feat of sacrificing a piece against this level of players. The whole match was very exciting, without saying the analysis was wow!
Very interested when you sacrifice the piece to put yourself in that position. It really opens up a lot of opportunities for us to learn from you that we don't get otherwise. I'd like to see more videos like where you try weird or specific things in games.
Yo Danya I appreciate you uploading frequently, watch all your videos Brody your a beast bro, I get drunk a lot at night victim of circumstance I guess, it’s hard out here in Chicago But watching your videos make me happy. Thank you big bro!
To be fair about the cheating accusation... you had a certain tone at 11:21 *snarlface* "he's thinking [on an only move]" This immediately made me wonder if you were suspicious of cheating. I was like "come on, Danya, that doesn't mean anything, he's probably just taking a second to figure out your continuation" It was shortly after that we hear the cheating accusations from chat.
@@RishabhSharma10225 I do it all the time. "what's their continuation?" (take a second to see) If it was 4 seconds every move, and turned out to be top lines throughout, then yeah, but once? Naw that's paranoid.
@@RishabhSharma10225 It was only 1 move. "Thinking" on an obvious move could have any number of explanations. A cat jumped on the keyboard, grabbing a glass of water, got a text on phone, spouse says goodnight, etc... You can't make assumptions based on a single move they "thought" too long on. That's only evidence if it happens on every move, not just one or two.
I really love this type of educational content!!! Most of us low ELO players would get more benefit about how to defend in a loosing position than just seeing a GM crushing others!
This was a great great game and analysis! Intense is an understatement. Disappointing disconnection by the opponent at the end though. Probably got deadlocked at having no moves or ideas to try at that point.
Shame about the end but what a great game. You are SO good. I'm trying to learn your gift of spotting the instant drawbacks of my opponents moves. Thanks 🙂
I'm a bit sad your opponent resigned. They played a great game! I think videos like these are really important to the channel because so often you completely outplay players in speedruns that defensive games such as this are far and in between. Personally, my focus with chess has always been puzzles; explosive tactics are complex and beautiful. However, I have not practiced finding practical chances in lost positions a lot, and I love videos like these where you manage to delay defeat until their critical mistakes because I learn the most from them. Thank you :)
And to think, on top of being one of the top 40 rated GMs at one time, maybe higher, Mr 'Ditsky also graduated from Stanford Uni. I mean what a jack of all trades. Imagine him pursuing purely chess from day 1, he very well could have been the next Magnus.
Love this game! I’m getting back into Chess and mainly been playing daily chess as hopeless with any time control. I’ve been loving the Speedrun and just assumed I’d be around 1600 as that’s about my daily rating. Danya got me into trying a few 10 min games. Enjoying them but shocked to find I’m 1200-1300! I always lose on time and am down at 5 mins in blink of an eye. Then watch these games and Danya chats his way through every move and clock seems to barely move! He must be apply some dark wizardry!!
When you're used to more time, adjusting to less time can be difficult! If you fixed the time control issue you might have better results. Sadly you can't calculate as deeply without as much time.
@@1001011011010 Thanks. Yep hoping I get used to it. It’s strange, I feel like I’m going quick and only taking a few seconds but somehow always well down on time!
@@CSRunner7 I think something that might help in faster time controls is the feel for "key moves". While all moves are important, you wanna save your long thinks for "key moves" where you feel this will determine the shape of the game when there just isn't enough time to do otherwise.
Incredible game, really good attacking play by black. The only real mistake he made there was exchanging on g3 I feel. In the position before Nxg3 was played by Black, there was this - I feel - incredible attacking possibility for Black. I was looking at Ne5 with the idea of Nf3, threatening to just move away the queen from defense of g3 (takes on f3 is impossible because it's checkmate). If Qxe2, Nxh2 with a discovered attack on the queen AND threatening checkmate by moving the knight away, so White, I think, HAS to give away the Queen for three minor pieces. Black's attacking is I only did calculations in my head so I wonder if it actually works, because that line is really cool. And the neat part about that position before Nxg3 is that I think White is actually just paralyzed for a moment, and can't really do anything about Ne5-Nf3. Actually, looking at that whole line in a little more detail, I'm not so sure the resulting position is that good for Black, because the attack actually more or less loses its chances after that, and White gains the initiative with d4 quickly. And White could also take on e5 with the Bishop, but then I'm really not sure White can defend without that dark-squared Bishop. It's a really curious one to explore though, because the ideas are so uncommon, and I found it worthwhile to explore because it was a way for Black to immediately try to convert the attack into a winning position.
1500 rated player here and this was amazing for me. Because my openings are not so polished as Danya's, my middle games look different. Many times I have to solve problems from losing side like Danya here. Thanks!
Opponent: HAHA I made Danya think, I must be playing a good move Danya: this move loses a tempo this is a bad move let me analyse and give my opponent false hope
This was a great game, crazy tactics. People saying cheating are crazy. It was not only a lot of human moves at a normal pace, but danya sacked a piece on move 5 and didn’t get crushed.
I haven't watched it yet but I could learn some defense! I think a big thing that'd improve my (and others') chess in general would be mastering the queen movement and knight movement. For instance, I find a queen vs rook endgame with engine-accurate defense very difficult.
