Driving down a busy road, I noticed what appeared to be an abandoned house. When exploring it, I realized it was an old couple that passed away, leaving much of their belongings behind in the home. It was kind of a sad experience.

This is my first time watching one of your videos. I can’t believe that house is still in great condition after sitting for so long and having the windows broken and the doors wide-open but it doesn’t seem to me that people or vandalizing it too much. I wish you knew more of the story of when they passed away and how long that house has been sitting there just like that, like preserved from when they were alive. You are so respectful of the things there, most people would just grab a bunch of stuff because there is a bunch of stuff in there that is worth money, especially the money jars Lol but thank you so much for respecting them! Absolutely love your comment and I greatly appreciate the time you took to write it, subscribe and view the channel. This one was actually very lucky to not have been vandalized or looted. Most places similar to this one are a completely different story. The very last date I saw on something was 2001, so that's when I'm assuming they had passed or left. And I believe they passed at that time because everything was just kind of left the way it was. I try to touch as little as possible and just document what I find. This little couple deserves nothing but love and that's all my subscribers are giving to them. If only they knew. Thank you again for the kind words and the time you took!

Your vet can help if something happens and you are hospitalized or otherwise incapacitated. A key can be kept there for example and they can be notified to come in to care for them. Pet sitters are also bonded so they are safe. Mine was a blessing when I suddenly went in hospital, I called her and she saw to my fur babies.

When I see an abandon house I think of how excited the family must have been who built it. All the holidays and memories in the home. Sad. 😢

Every time I enter a property like this, I think of absolutely the same things. No one will ever know how many memories were made here. That's why I give the utmost respect and have a sad feeling when I leave. But I do like to document it so the reminiscence of the family that used to occupy the property can be enjoyed by people that will never meet them. Thank you so very much for the view and comment.

Weird how this brought me to tears. I imagine that old lady dying alone. Her last few years could not have been pleasant. I think I am going to find someone who lives alone, is old and offer to do a housecleaning for free. I think I want to leave this world myself trying to help others. Not with money because I have none but just doing a good deed here and there throughout the remainder of my life. It makes me very sad to think of old people dying alone.

That's incredibly sweet. If only everybody could think like this.. It's hard to imagine, but there is a chance she enjoyed what she had. Maybe she took solace and happiness in the small things. She also probably had a very loving husband and a career behind her that she enjoyed. What we saw at the house was after many years of it being vacant so more than likely much different than what she had. Love your heart, don't lose it. My grandfather was my best friend and favorite person in the world, he taught me absolutely everything I know and did absolutely anything to make me happy. So I'm with you on that level. Looks like a 1930's era home, judging by the art deco styles doorknob plates and the curved plaster archways. Despite the junk in it, and the walls and ceilings being rough, structurally it really doesn't look too bad.

It broke my heart to see that fairly recent painting from the photo I glimpsed on the bed. She was such a beauty and I bet a darling. Someone had that made gor her as a special gift. I bet this was a place they downsized to nearer to town when they got older. Often folks in that generation didn't do wills and things get stuck in probate. I'm an only child and it took over TWO YEARS to settle Mom's estate. And nothing was complicated. Make a simple will at least folks. It helps the kids. ❤️

Awesome find brother. I know it was obviously painted those colors much more recent than some of the stuff we find, but I still love those colors. Growing up in the 80s and even the 90s, everything got painted freaking white. White walls, white ceilings, white wood trim, white everything. It's nice to see some color in life again. Anyways I enjoyed that and I just wanted to point out the fact that I really appreciate how delicate you were with everything. I've seen so many people on RU-vid and even been out exploring what friends of my own that aren't necessarily disrespectful towards the stuff but they pick things up and slam them down or put them somewhere else or just leave Cabinets and Doors open. I like to leave everything exactly the way I found it. You did that well and even the small stuff like when you felt bad about stepping on the clothes, it's good to see people out there like that. Especially with all the destruction become across these places as well. I'll never understand how people destroy these places, especially historic ones. Anyways, I'm rambling, maybe venting lol. And in fact, most of the people stealing from these abandoned places are probably just people that doing it out of greed and accumulation rather than necessity. Pretty sure there’s a lot of people going from town to town asking about abandoned places or finding the addresses of recently deceased people so they can go there and steal as many valuables as possible.

Even an unoccupied property would have an owner's name at the recorder's office. You still should be able to buy it, even if it is scheduled for demo. Sometimes demolitions can take years. You may want to hire an attorney to help you figure out who has control over the property. Depending on the circumstances, you may be able to buy it at a tax sale if there are unpaid taxes. I was a Realtor in Iowa for 40 yrs.
@grimstravels3416

Currently the only owners of a lot of the properties are actual banks. The abandoned neighborhood that I documented had every single house technically owned by the new property manager of the facility they were building. If it's in illinois, I have a few people that work for the state that do some digging for me, and give me all the info I ask for usually. There has only been a handful of places that have the original owner's names on them. Generally an old couple that prepaid for a decade in advance or so.

Awe thank you. We do it every year, but this is the first time I'm recording as much as I can of it. Going to put out a Christmas video of gifting to people sometime before Christmas. Promise I'll check my email once I'm home
