Actually much more than a lifecoach. A 'Sadhguru' is someone who dispells our darkness and leads us to light - Moksha. A relationship between a Sadguru and a shishya is of many lifetimes. In the array of one's Gurus, one's Sadhguru ranks the highest and is the most respected. Thanks❣

Sadhguru goes into much more detail in his book "Karma: A Yogi's Guide to Crafting Your Destiny" and it's really good by the way. It explains karma and karma yoga in a very clear manner. I feel that much of the modern understanding of karma is not accurate as is traditionally understood.

Look my dear💕 zuzana, according to my points of view, as I observed in my family's, relatives, friends and in my surroundings people, most of the people, don't change their name, again and again, as sadguru said in this. And in a very rare cases, they will change their starting child hood name, which mostly kept them, with a certain religious ritual, by their parents, particularly in a Hindu🕉️ communities. But, some people have a, certain nicknames in India🇮🇳, which calls by their parents, and by their friends, and by their relatives, I think.

@@zuzanareacts the reason is simple..we didn't decide our birth and death and so it is only a matter of our karma that someone becomes our Guru who lightens the truth about the eternal reality.. There's one saying in Upanishads "ekam sat bahuda vipra vadanti " which means that truth (sat) is one (ekam) but different people perceive it differently. Eg..we only know about this universe but our scriptures talk about infinite multiverses constantly being born and dying.

Most people have 2-3 nicknames, but when a child gets enrolled to school, that name becomes the official name. Also, one thing that might come across as inappropriate or demeaning in the west is that it's very common to have nicknames based on one's physical characteristics 😅 because we come in all shapes and sizes, EVEN within the same family and siblings, it's common to have a nickname like Golu(fatso) for a chubby kid, Chhotu (someone who's short), Lambu (someone who's tall), Kalu (someone who's dark), pinky (a girl with rosy cheeks) and so on. You'll probably get 'cancelled' in the West for calling someone that 😅
@zuzanareacts
@zuzanareacts 9 месяцев назад
you are right - you'd totally get cancelled - it's majorly inappropriate. I get the sentiment don't get me wrong, but this is really is very bad for the mental health of the kid - this scars people for life so it's not good to do to anyone. In older days things used to be like that I think even in the US but everyone talks more and more about mental health. I know someone who has been scared like this and quite frankly they haven't overcome it in almost 40 years. Words have an impact.
@essee3984
@essee3984 9 месяцев назад
@@zuzanareacts while I understand the negative sentiment associated with it, something is negative only if you start associating a negative or an inferior perception to something and it takes the form of bullying. If im short, i AM short. There's nothing wrong in that and there's nothing i can do about it. I think we need to embrace and acknowledge our differences instead of pretending we are all the same. Even two siblings aren't same even physically. If it makes sense? For example, it's no longer acceptable in the West to call a blind person 'blind' and apparently 'visually challenged' is a better term. You see, the word blind isnt the problem. The problem is how it has seeped into the local slang in recent times the informal perception associated with it. For a non-native English speaker like myself who has no context of the slang association and appropriation would still use the word blind because it makes for a perfect translation. The problem isn't the word, rather the child must be taught that there's no problem in being called something.

@@zuzanareacts might as well add, even our deities are named aftrr their physical features. For example, Lord Krishna is called Shyam (Dark Skinned), Lord Ganesha is called Lambodhar(Potbellied) and nobody takes it in a negative sense. So, it all depends on how the society perceives it.
@zuzanareacts
@zuzanareacts 9 месяцев назад
I totally hear where you are coming from. And I agree with what you said about the perception. I think it's important to also interpret it in a cultural context - like if it is widely in the culture being accepted it is bad to be short for a man - then it can have an impact. Also, I know from my own experience -that certain things would have a totally different impact on me vs my brother - same parenting - different long-term or not impact life - it's an individual. The Western, esp. American society is creating a victim mentality in people - snowflakes - which I find the opposite extreme. I think and I always say that we should just be kind to people. I love the saying - before you speak let your words go through 3 gates - Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? I just think everyone fights a battle we know nothing about so if you can choose anything - I'd say choose being kind.
