I'm glad I found this video. I have two safelife Defense vest and although they are very nice, I really like this SAfariland Oregon city carrier. I have the safelife 3A+ panels and if and when I get this safariland vest its great to know those panels will fit in this vest.
Going to be making the move to law enforcement this fall and this is a super nice setup and helps give me a few ideas on where I would like to place stuff and body cam
That's a very nice vest Right now I'm working private security in Oregon and if I don't join law enforcement I'd like to become a PSO with LTD Security and get a vest like this looks very professional
I took my SafeLife panels out of my SafeLife defense concealable armor and put them in a Point Blank carrier. I hated the high speed pouches. I use ZERO9 and I think the only high speed pouch I use is for the radio. but everything else was replaced with zero9. Thanks for the video. It seems like a lot of people take the SafeLife panels and put them in different carriers. I.E. Point Blank / Safariland.
I just got issued this vest by my company and man the difference is amazing! I think its because Safelife is more generalized in their sizing whereas this one I had to get sized like I was getting sized for a suit
You are the first person I've heard say that safelife fits that vest! THANK YOU! May I ask what size safelife plates you have and what Oregon vest size it was compatible with? Thanks man
I would have to replace my Safelife Defense carrier every 6 months to a year. Fortunately, it was always covered by the warranty and I would get a free replacement. But the velcro leaves a lot to be desired as far as durability goes.
@@mpsnetwork They may have fixed it. I've switched careers and haven't had to wear a vest in 2-3 years. But something to look out for. Their customer service was always amazing, though.
Will be nice if you make a video of wich panels are you using and how to put it on because I have a partner who spend 350$ buying this Carrier. He didn’t know that was just the carrier without armor 😂😂😂 so will be good another video explaining how comes and how u put it on and wich panels are you using.
You don’t like the esstac pouch? I’ve had their pistol pouches for 6mos now and love them…. Was thinking about buying one to carry a spare ar mag. Any reason specifically why you didn’t like the mag pouch?
Not a huge fan of them, I have one still for my 20 round AR mag pouch and it’s fine. I also have two pistol mag pouches on my civilian belt. I feel that HSGI makes a better product, I do not like that I have to buy my malice straps separately and they do not weave well into battle belts. I can use the HSGI for anything from flashlights to magazines to multi tools. I can not work Esstac. They do the job bud HSGI does it better in my opinion.
The large panel seem to fit just fine with the size for this vest. I would just match the size of the safelife as close as you can with the sizes of the vest. Mine fits good.
When I spoke with joydan on the phone before I bought the vest he said they mostly fit but sometimes it’s hit or miss. Kinda rolled the dice with this and it worked well.
I honestly don’t remember the sizing when it comes to Safari land I will say though, if you can find the number pattern that equals to that size, then it should fit just fine
I want to be a Police Officer and I would pick the Vest Carrier when I become a cop and the things that I would put on the Vest are Handcuffs Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight Asp and tourniquet on the Vest and I would put the Firearm,Taser and Radio on the Belt
So what I got was a large short panel from safelife and then I ordered a large short ( numbers are the sizes it’s hard to explain without having the photos) and they fit pretty well.
@@mpsnetwork yes the sizing is annoying. Ok i have some 2xl safelife pannels. So i know in the sarfai sizing im either a 2414/ 2416 (48)or 2614/2616 (52). So ill just have to fill out a sizing form.
@@digitallove421 I will say that the panel size matters but the carrier does adjust a few inches around so you have a bit of wiggle room and if you still need some extra room, there are slash guards that can be removed so you get some extra room with that too.
@@mpsnetwork how snug is it with your 3A from safelife Defense? Would you say you have some wiggle room for either the plus or FRAS? Since they are only slightly thicker then the standard 3A
@@mpsnetwork on point , i have the current safelife vest you have. molle on the rear and front is a bit too much for me at work. considering i don’t use the back molle as well. I think the zipper makes it more professional and less intimidating for customers, as i work security.
@@griffinkarch8283 it was one of in stock ones. The side panels adjust so you have some room to grow or shrink..the only thing I would worry about is making sure your carrier is in the correct location when wearing it so you get the best protection. Get ahold of Jordon from Curtis blue line, tell him I sent you or you saw this video he will hook you up and can answer a lot of questions.
@@mpsnetwork regular or the hyperline? You said it was a bit tight so would you say FRAS could fit? It’s the same dimensions but a bit thicker at 0.73 inches?
