Safety Razors, TTO, 2 Piece, 3 Piece. What's the difference, what should I buy?

A brief overview video, to answer some questions I have been getting on RU-vid, on what my preference for a safety razor is; and what do I see are the benefits of each.
First of all it's always a personal, individual choice.
What I like, others may not. But here is a video on how each of the three types function, and my thoughts on the advantages of the three types of safety razors.
Thanks for watching. Subscriptions Appreciated.

I'm very new to safety razors and I was intimated to try them at first honestly. But with being in the military and having to shave every single day cartridges are just way too expensive. After using a safety razor I just randomly bought one day I'll never go back. 1. Hell of a lot cheaper. 2. You get a closer shave. What's better than that? But with that said I had so many questions and you answered them all. Great Video!

My dad used a twist to open razor, don’t remember which brand though but it was very sturdy even after decades of usage and he gave it to me later. I have also used it for quite some time. If maintained properly these go a long way

Ken, good video. I am at the end of watching 3 hours of DE videos. My first razor at 17 yrs old was a DE, given to me by the USNavy in bootcamp... now 62, realized how much I am paying for Harry's blades at $3/ea... good shave, but ouch! on the cost. After reviewing all, I've now decided butterfly-type razor (TTO) is best for me... only one thing to hold, no pieces to drop or lose with soapy slippery hands, safer when handling DE blades. I'm going with a Viking Blades Chieftan Jr... mainly because of the video on "Blade Alignment", and the no-frills but high quality mechanism. Blades, seems like Feather are best bang for the buck @ pennies per day. Forget the boar bristle brush + 19 other creams and lotions and spritzers... my Harry's gel-cream works perfectly, smells good and so easy to use. That's it... thanks to all!

My dad used to own a TTO razor. Sadly when he died, we couldn't find it anywhere. I guess he switched to cartridge razors and threw it out. I own 2 razors, both of which are 3-piece. I like the simplicity of a 3-piece razor. No moving parts and easy to clean.

The TTO mechanism looks so sexy, but I understand that many of the popular modern DE safety razors are 3-piece and will probably get one of those safety razors as a beginner to wet shaving.

Been having fun with the Progress finding the pattern 5-3-2....4-2-1...etc that works best...the pattern I choose depends on the days I haven't shaved...but always ends with a 1 or 2 for that BBS shave

If I can't find a Gillette Black Beauty in mint condition, what would you recommend I buy instead, new? Looking for an adjustable TTO of very high quality and a straightforward classic look.

You must be due for a splash of brut in a video. Paul H just done a short video on brut, interesting. Along with my skin bracer, Iv also imported clubman and lucky tiger aspen, love that staff, and that cool blue just makes it pop. Arko is another good brand, creams such adventure and cool are good, and the classic red. Owen in nz💈

+Owen Parratt I've got two of the Brut aftershaves, the "Attitude" and "Dominant" (blue and red bottle) versions. One of them is discontinued but I forgot which. I like the original too.I'll have to check out Paul H's video. Thanks.
