Maybe actors realize that going through a 2 hour movie with a sullen look on your face like you're in the beginning of kidney disease is NOT acting. Awkwafina is overrated. That's not good acting.
Parasite is an serious contender in the oscar race. From what I have heard, Bombshell is an actors movie so its not surprising it showed up here. Knifes out was an late screeners issue. I feel like bafta is nominating egerton. Im thinking him, Bandares, and other 3 is your best actor noms
Matthew anzalone “Parasite” also happened to have late screener issue. However, I didn’t know about this issue for any movie before the SAGs, and I predicted “Parasite” for SAG nom.
@@def7158 Even if some form of screenings or theatrical releases happened, I'm assuming not a lot of voters get chances to see a whole lot, that they might miss out on some, including a buzzy movie like "Parasite". Which is where the DVD screeners would come in, so that they can watch select movies at homes. "Dolemite Is My Name" did premiere at TIFF, and also came out on Netflix a week before the start of "Parasite"'s US release. "Little Women" may not have premiered at a festival, but it was first shown in LA at the DGA theater for the SAG-AFTRA members and select press at the end of October 2019. At the end of November 2019, I was able to see it at The Landmark (West LA) as part of Reel Talk series, which is open to the public, with producer Amy Pascal Q&A afterwards.

Exactly, maybe Little Women isn’t as strong. It reminds me of First Man were it got a bunch of nominations at the Critics Choice, but everything else was bad (including Oscars).
@@kevinkongtorres1654 yeah. I get it. The only nomination everybody thought was gonna happen is supporting actress for claire foy. She got nominated at the sag, golden globe, critics and bafta, but snubbed at the oscars.
@@blacktoad2425 It started releasing in US theaters on October 2019, sure, but a 'screener' is a different thing. A 'screener' is a physical or digital promotional item (like a DVD or a video link) of a movie that the studios send to the voters.

amber i could see Dicaprio being snnubed over Murphy. Murphy or Dicaprio Will Get The last place in actor. Dicaprio is favorite, but i could see Murphy being a upset over Leo or Egerton.
Disappointed that Dafoe is being snubbed for supporting actor for his amazing performance. That said, it has a VERY good chance of winning cinematography
I wonder if poor Taron will be this year's Cameron Diaz: with Globe and SAG nods, he's bound to get a BAFTA nomination too, but I have the feeling he'll be snubbed by the Oscars. We'll see, but I think Phoenix, Driver, DiCaprio, DeNiro and Banderas will be the Best Actor lineup at the Oscars.
@@kevlow9494 that's right, one of her best performances but the Oscars snubbed her. She also got SAG and Globe nominations for "Vanilla Sky", but no Bafta.
I’m so glad Parasite was nominated (called it btw) But man am I super worried about the Best Actor race this year. All 5 SAG nominees are *my* personal top 5, but I could see Egerton and Leo being the big snubs of the year in favor of Banderas and Pryce
Mega MovieZ it feels like the tides are changing and this is where streaming helps! Marriage story and Irishman have a ton of buzz around them because of the huge amount of people who were able to see them via Netflix
Even though Robert de Niro might not be nominated for the Oscar for best actor he still might win an Oscar for best picture for The Irishman, because he produced that movie.
I am glad that my personality is scarlett Johansson getting double nominations, and sure the winner of best actress Scarlett Johansson, best supporting Jennifer Lopez, best actor Adam driver, best support actor Brad Pitt
So... I’mma just say this. I earned a metric fuck on of points on Gold Derby for correctly guessing Parasite. Even tho my predictions were very much wrong, like I got 60% correct. ... I really just don’t see Parasite not winning that Ensemble award.
No Marriage Story for Cast in Motion Picture, No Robert de Niro for Actor and No Saoirse Ronan for Actress, plus No Hopkins for Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress had No Surprises.
Ah yes 5Head it’s definitely still a top 3 contender I think but it’s looking more and more like Irishman and Hollywood are separating themselves as a top 2
Nominating Bale but not Damon, they are both equally great in Ford V Ferrari, if you nominate one you need to also nominate the other just like Pacino and Pesci in The Irishman. And I think De Niro might possibly be gettin snub at the Oscars as well, hope it will be like Regina King type.
Marriage story did not have the best performances of the year. You could make the case for SJ, but Phoenix undoubtedly had the most astounding performance for male actor.
As long as Adam Sandler and Joaquin Phoenix gets nominated, I can care less who else gets nominated in the best actor race. Just really crossing my fingers for Sandler get the nomination since he won't give another oscar worthy performance for a while to come.
Maybe he will! What if someone like Baumbach, the Saffies, or PTA want to work with him again now that he’s won respect from the critics as a dramatic actor? People said he wouldn’t have another great performance any time soon after Meyerowitz and look what happened.
@@skylindquist3150 I think PTA would like to work with Joaquin Phoenix again instead Adam Sandler, he said in a press conference that if he was for him he would love to have Joaquin Phoenix in all his movies.
