It is amazing what sailing can do for the mind.

It was very noticeable for me. I can't wait to get back there for more.

Nothing better than a sail to get an attitude change.

With no schedule I'd sail in as well. There is something peaceful about slowly sailing to your destination :)

Thanks, Owen . . . Funniest line from this episode: "'Bob' = previous owner, Mike" . . . Hilarious!

I'll let you in on a little secret: I didn't even notice the blunder until just before posting the video. Mike is a great guy and has my full respect. I'm glad I caught it in time. Thanks as always, Alfred!

A few days on the water alone, a wonderful way to reset yourself. Well done.

A nice way for me to start a Saturday morning by watching your video. Here is a recommendation, make yourself a leadline for those instances that your depth sounder fails. Leadlines are great in scoping out your anchorage.

Thanks for the kind message, Darrell. I kick myself for leaving my leadline on a boat I sold a few years ago.

Thank tou for taking us along. The depth sounder sits inside the hull in a short tube filled with castor oil, usually. If the castor oil is not topped up, the depth sounder will not work.... Best wishes

Thanks for your input, James. The transducer in this boat is a Garmin Intelliducer, and is not set up - as some depth sounders are - as you describe. I prefer those because there's one less hole in the boat. :) This Garmin unit was already installed in the boat when I bought it.

Hi Owen, Really enjoy your videos, I find them really relatable. I just bought a Pacific Seacraft 25 on a custom trailer, and I'm working to figure out a mast raising system here at home with it. Super excited to splash it soon hopefully! I'm in Portland Oregon so if you ever find yourself in Portland with time to spare, Let me know I'd love to buy you a cold one and talk about sailing! Thanks for the videos!

Thanks for the kind words and offer. After a haul-out for bottom work in the next month or so, I'll start thinking about moving the boat upstream to your area for a while. I'm always up for a beer and boat talk!

Glad to see you had a relaxing time. I wish I had the nerve to climb our mast, maybe someday. S/V Drifter

My first attempt several years ago was certainly nerve wracking. I could only go half way up!

Definitely sail into anchorage if time and fading daylight is not an issue.
@VoyageDreams

Yes, I totally agree.

If I'm not worried that there will be no space to anchor I'd sail.
@VoyageDreams
@VoyageDreams 2 года назад
Yes! It all depends on the situation (e.g., weather, daylight, crowds, schedule...). Thanks for your input.

Can I buy you a beer sometime? I live in EO and am looking for a similar style boat. Wanting to learn how to sail and go across the pond.
@VoyageDreams
@VoyageDreams Год назад
I'm always up for a beer. Thanks for the offer. I plan to take the boat east up the river to the Portland area in late November. After that I expect to be able to visit the boat more often and would be happy to show her to you.
