After spending a month at home for Christmas, we get back on the catamaran and sail to St. john in the US Virgin Islands to explore the national park there. We get some snorkeling in, hike to some ruins, then move on to a pretty magical bay where you can snorkel right off the back of the boat.

Years ago we did a horseback ride through St Croix - beautiful islands. The squid are always my favorite when snorkeling. As it's 26 degrees Fahrenheit here today, I miss the clear water and warm beaches.

We have been looking at hopping over there if a clear window doesn't open up to St. Martin. We'll see in the next couple of days...

I can't say enough good things about USVI, this park is amazing. And so laid back. If I was looking for a good vacation spot to charter a boat, this would be at the top of my list.

handy idea - As a retired facilities manager we set planned mtce for our battery changeovers on fire alarms etc to be on April 1 ie your a fool if you don't update them - you could do the same, set an alarm on the phone for April 1 and have a spreadsheet to change all the batts in those alarms, water alarms, float switches and other devices, also fire extinguisher date and fullness checks, flares etc

I like that idea. We have software that tells us the things to check and when, but it is still on my to-do list to set up the software correctly :) Right now it reminds us to check things we don't have.
