Something like Tokyo Xanadu's formula could work REALLY well for a Sailor Moon game. Personally I'd love if Takeuchi-sensei would write (or give her blessing for someone else to write) a cannon adjacent original storyline for such a game, as opposed to it just being a playable version of the anime like many of the games based on Shounen Jump properties (e.g. Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles or Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash)
I finally got to see Sailor Cosmos, and it made me want a new Sailor Moon video game so bad! New RPG game! I also want the Prequel of Sailor Moon manga to get its own series.
There are a few genres I think sailor moon could work. A fighting game or RPG come to mind. If we get a rpg I'd love it have a very cute cartoony art style. If you want a smaller budget game something similar to OK KO let's play heroes could be fun.
if they can just talk Naoko Takeuchi into agreeing to make a Sailor moon game, I would like Remastered "sailor moon another story" but in a form like "Time & Eternity PS3", or a really good pixel visual art of a beat em up game, like that upcoming "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind" game with their visuals, I don't even care if it the same main story of it, just playing a Sailor moon game with the main Five Scouts is enough for me. (I still to this day play some of the sailor moon games, S.M. and R snes beat em up usually, in 2 player mode I like to play as my 2 personal favorites, Mars and Jupiter with just one controller simultaneously) and with a revival of all kinds of beat em up, they at least owe it to the fans who still love this franchise this one included (who a Black guy by the way).
@@trevormcdermal it a SNES Emulator for on a PC.............the only unofficial way to play games out of Japan region (and one of them unfortunately is the Sailor moon games) within that specific SNES Emulator there's a way to map your 1p and 2p with either keyboards or "USB" controller, you'll have to figure that on your own (on youtube channel or google search)

Is so weird to me that there's only one rpg game of Sailor Moon, like, all the Senshis have special powers and elements, the lore is soo good and rich, I thinks the franchise fits perfectly with the genre.
I think Sailor Moon would make an excellent Persona style game. Half would be spending time in School and across Juban with friends and family. The other half would be traversing dungeons and fighting monsters and Supervillains as the Sailor Scouts/Guardians with a Persona style Battle system.

I’ve subscribed to you now and to your husband recently both of y’all make some valid points been a sailor moon fan since ‘99 when I was 4 years old saw reruns on toonami it was great show it should be made into a video game a great one either a fighting game or an open world game almost like breath of the wild but it would also be wild if sailor moon came to Fortnite ( sorry not good with game terminology ). But I’m glad yall brought up the point of times have changed and times have when I was into sailor moon I was made fun of because it was a “girls show “ and so for a long time it was just a secret favorite of mine plus it was my first anime! It would be an intresting concept to have the queen magical girl (Sailor Moon) to have her video game once more. 🤔 Question is how would it be done? Would it have an original story or be set in the in the main timeline such as R, S, Super S, Stars. If I was going to choose a particular kind of gameplay for a Sailor Moon game I would definitely have it close to Bayonetta or Stellar blade. And maybe even choose to do a choice decision scenario where the outcomes could be different.
Oh that would be awesome! I’d love a stellar blade-like sailor moon game. However I would probably make it a less challenging game more suitable for gamers who aren’t used to the insane difficulty that games like stellar blade and the soulsbourne series bring to the table. I’ve been a gamer for my whole life and find those games very hard for me in particular, so I wouldn’t want to frustrate sailor moon fans out of playing a game like that

I literally love this video and over the years, following Sailor Moon's comeback in 2014 and ongoing, I kept thinking to myself that video games companies need to make a Sailor Moon video game for game consoles for fans to play. Literally Sailor Moon is still one of the greatest and most popular anime of all time with other anime legends and it deserves so much love and support to also get more video games too. It's loved by both men and women and it's just so good, I feel like finally making the game in the USA will really bring lots of fans together as there are tons of people who also loves Sailor Moon too. We only got Sailor Moon Super S video game for playstation over the years and then also got Sailor Moon Drops during 2015-2016 which is my #1 favorite mobile game, (It was so cute and too precious and awesome, still wish they continue the game, it was so good) and with Sailor Moon Cosmos going on and very big on the news, this is absolutely the PERFECT time to make that game happen! I can totally see it as a open world game like Naruto Shippuden with cinematic actions and exploring the world of Sailor Moon with your favorite Sailor Guardians completing all 5 seasons of the series!!! Also everyone can be playable including Tuxedo Mask, they bring back the arcade mode for fans to play as their favorite Sailor Guardian and battle them from their rankings leading to battle Sailor Galaxia & Sailor Cosmos as the final bosses, and you can play and unlock the Sailor Guardians with all of the outfits from both 90s & Crystal versions!!! AND Sailor Cosmos can be playable through Pre-Order AND as DLC so fans can still get her to play- win win for everyone!!!! And I totally love your idea of the game focusing on Chibiusa as a older woman and she and the Sailor Quartet and Sailor Saturn defending the future from a new enemy- that's totally awesome and I really do want them to continue Sailor Moon with another season like that and I hope that happens in the near future, as Final Fantasy game style, I do also love it like that and that will be cool!!!! I agree. I wrote a long post too. An older Chibi-Usa would rule. And just new games in general would be nice. We see so many new games made for Dragon Ball, One Piece, Grandblue Fantasy, Demon Slayer, Naruto, and even Fairy Tail has a new one announced. They already made enough video games for the Shonen Jump brand even created their crossover game Jump Force, they really need to do one for Sailor Moon including a Magical Girls Crossover game and also for other Magical Girls anime. Magical Girls like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Tokyo Mew Mew, Winx Club and so much more are still very popular and loved by many fans worldwide. They deserve so much more love and I really hope that they get more video games in the future. We Moonies and Magical Girl fans deserve to have them and enjoy them too.

I say remake Another Story and have it take place after the last arc but not before the Crystal Tokyo era. So they’ll be in their eternal forms because I love those forms. I wouldn’t have it take place in Crystal Tokyo only because the first game in years being set place in the future with different characters outside of the main cast probably wouldn’t sell that well. You could do stuff like that in future games so that people outside of the fandom who don’t know as much about the franchise aren’t confused when they try it out. Sailor Moon is so well known that people will know the name but not the characters and this would be a great opportunity to introduce them
I would like an RPG either turn-based or action based with a create a character, and romance system. The plot would involve time trickery by the villains. The created character would be a Moon Kingdom soldier who got pulled into a time distortion during the Moon Kingdom's fall and find themselves either between story arcs or shortly after the anime ends. You would get to pick a class and your home planet with different opening missions tied to you being pulled into the present because while trying to figure out where you are you stumble across the current incarnation of your world's guardian fighting a monster.

In fact, several years ago, I wrote a fanfic known as "Sailor Senshi Heiresses" which is set in the year 2996 in Crystal Tokyo. Several centuries ago, the Sailor Senshi had interceded in a world war fought by an apocalyptic Abrahamic death cult and an anthology of secular fascist governments -- neither of which was amenable to accepting no for an answer -- after being infused with the DNA of an alien race from the giant frigid planet known as Pollianus. Usagi and Mamoru coming to power as Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion along with establishing Crystal Tokyo is a big part of how Earth got its groove back. Another part of keeping things on track is the eight Sailor Senshi each begetting her successor the old-fashioned way. A lot of the "Sailor Senshi Heiresses" plot is mostly the tournament Chibi-Usa fights with the titular characters -- Claribel Del Trabajador (Pluto), the half-sisters Cecelia and Irvette MacGrinrun (Uranus and Neptune respectively), Cleopatra Cavalheiro (Saturn), Clotilda Shinozaki (Jupiter), Hermione Urawa (Mercury), Ariadne Kumada (Mars), and Cara Gradjagore (Venus). I would love to adapt "Sailor Senshi Heiresses" into a visual novel or video game; unfortunately, I lack the time and technical capability. The fact that I have several creditors angry at me only inflames matters. Another fanfic I wrote -- this one known as "Sailor Moon Quasar: The Apothecary of Destiny" -- is set in Crystal Tokyo two years after "Sailor Senshi Heiresses" and tells the story of how the Dynamic Youja Dynasty led by the armored samurai demon overlord Talpa swept in on Crystal Tokyo. The only way to stalemate and reverse the invasion is for the Quasar Power Angels (aka the aforementioned Sailor Senshi Heiresses) to leap back through time to the year 1998 to gather the resources necessary to basically defeat Talpa the same way he was destroyed in Ronin Warriors; aside from several complications both from the time jump and the Dynasty along with plain bad luck, the Power Angels succeed in their mission but are reverted to toddlers in lieu of being destroyed by the energy backdraft from Talpa's destruction. "Electronic Fantasy Revelation", another fanfic I had written long ago without finishing it but am now rewriting to flesh out and develop the Power Angels more as people, takes up where SMQ: TAOD left off and pits them against the Eternal Boarding House which is an organization led by Kaolinite with the Witches 5 as her direct subordinates refurbished as poikilothermic humanoid aliens from the planet Pyranina whose objective is to acquire the Megami Power Eggs for the sole purpose of pulling their home star system away from a quasar; while that is a noble volition, there is no denying the fact that celestial bodies are located where they are for a reason -- id est, there is a reason why Earth is by itself instead of being a moon of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, or Neptune. When I first wrote EFR, I wanted to get to the Power Angels' adventures in the Digital Realm ASAP; upon seeing a web comic's early chapters being rewritten to match the aggregate tone of the story, I decided to follow that lead. I took my time with how Chibi-Usa learns about the threat of the Eternal Boarding House and the unintended consequence of making the Sailor Senshi look lazy and generally horrible at their jobs -- the latter of which forces Chibi-Usa to flee over to the Realm of Dreams for asylum only to wind up in Jamaica with a nasty case of pneumonia which forces her to commit suicide as part of a metempsychotic ritual to export her sentience to a Slavic orphan named Bathsheba Raisakotkas. It is only by this that the Sailor Senshi realize the huge mistake they made and take action to combat the Eternal Boarding House -- the greatest gesture of which is to avail their Star Seeds to restart the ecospheres of their guardian planets so that the civilians have their choice of eight planets to evacuate to. Both SMQ: TAOD and EFR would make excellent role-playing adventure games; unfortunately, as is the case with SSH, I lack the time and technical capability. I also have several creditors angry at me to where I am looking to declare bankruptcy. I have also been unjustly chased out of three apartments over the span of four years; not only that, my current landlord wants to have all of the buildings at my current residence demolished and reconstructed from scratch. The only thing stopping her cold in her tracks is that there is not a big enough funding source for her ambitions. Another concern I have with EFR is that Toei Animation might mount civil litigation against me because of the use of such characters as Chibi-Usa and her parents along with the Sailor Senshi and the city Crystal Tokyo. This anxiety is why I revised the plot for Kuzuri (aka Chibi-Usa) to commit suicide and transfer her sentience to Bathsheba Raisakotkas which is an original character of mine. I also tried not to use the Sailor Senshi's civilian names as much as possible for the same reason.

I also recalled another fanfic I wrote known as "Sailor Moon Quasar: Koholint Carnage" which tells the story of how the Quasar Power Angels fight alongside Helios, the young crown prince of the Realm of Dreams, as he basically cleans up the messy consequences of his parents unwisely trusting Queen Beryl and her four generals refurbished as humanoid aliens from the planet Azazel which basically pulled an Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader confidence game to steal the octet of magical instruments which are responsible for the defensive shield around the Realm of Dreams. Much like with "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening", Helios and the Quasar Power Angels must travel around Koholint Island to retrieve the stolen instruments -- each of which is in a perilous dungeon infested with dangerous monsters under the leadership of a Nightmare charged very jealous vigilance of the aforementioned instrument. Throw SMQ: KC on the barbie for another excellent role-playing adventure! Alas, the Japanese anime industry has a large archive of anime plotline proposals of native-born Japanese authorship that will take decades and centuries to exhaust; even if I were to successfully clear the language and culture barrier, my entreaties to be employed to write a game will likely be stopped cold in its tracks right in the front foyer. Further inflaming matters, those corporate executives do not like having their lack of prowess demonstrated; even though it is actually the inverse, those corporate superordinates will not hesitate to jettison an ENTIRE company of subordinates to enforce the hierarchy that placed them where they are. I have had three landlords here in Bexar County unjustly decree homelessness of me because I demonstrated that I can function without them. The only significance a landlord has is that he holds the ownership deed to a building. Constructing the physical building, channeling water through the plumbing, channeling electricity through the wiring, establishing the central climate control . . . the landlord in many cases HAS NOTHING to do with any of that. I am sure that it will become very clear how ridiculous landlords really are if we re-organize our society so that it provides housing without there being any landlords; unfortunately, this is a cultural issue and it will take at least a half-century for there to be enough critical mass to scrutinize and scorn that hierarchy so that it can be abolished, Argh, I really did not mean to prosecute that pedantic rant; unfortunately, the corporate hierarchy along with its beneficiaries and all of the secondary school soap opera drama necessary to function within it means that initiatives like mine have an uphill battle. YES! Since they first remastered the series and launched Sailor Moon Crystal I have been asking the same thing WHERE ARE THE NEW VIDEOGAMES?! *exhales* OK. A new fighting game would be raw. There have been side tournaments of Sailor Moon Super at past EVOs where people have been figuring out new tech to the Super Famicom game so yes there is a demand. Also, a certain developer who made BlazBlue, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Guilty Gear Strive called Arc System Works, got their start making the Sailor Moon fighting game. IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO GO BACK TO THEIR ROOTS! And Tuxedo Mask needs to finally be playable, with a Moonlight Knight palate swap. The 4 Generals and the Nega Moon people also need to be playable, there is a rich rogues gallery that they haven't even tapped into yet for Sailor Moon fighting games. I know there are quite a few of these but I would like a new beat them up. I don't care I love them. And once again Tuxedo Mask needs to finally be playable, with the Moonlight Knight palate swap. For me. They're should put sailor moon in naruto storm style graphics. There lot story mode and mission and battle boss cutscenes along important original sources material in original manga version in turn video game adaptation. They're give shot try.
My child also really likes Sailor Moon and wants me to make a game about it. I've researched the characters, storyline, and copyright information. Since the copyright is shared between multiple parties, not to mention the costs, the strict regulations and constraints make it very difficult for developers who intend to create a Sailor Moon game. Even creating a non-profit game could lead to copyright infringement if the scenario is too different from the original story. But if I create a scenario based on the original story, it won't be attractive or meet the expectations of a new gaming experience with many things to discover. When I decided to create a non-profit game for the Sailor Moon fan community, all my dev friends refused. The budget is tight, so I can't hire a designer for sharp or 3D graphics. So, if I create a game, it will only be with pixel art taken from DeviantArt or another story, and I can't ask for more. But if it's pixel art, probably no one will play it.
I think the fighting game Sailor Moon is still played in competitions like EVO. I would like to see a new Sailor Moon fighting game. Or a Sailor V beat up game. Stuff from the arcades in the show would be fun.
It would be nice to have a new Sailor Moon game, sigh that will be the day. I guess only time will tell if we ever do get a new game. But for my idea, an open world adventure or a new RPG style game would be very interesting choice.
you know what wld've been interesting? a decision based game based on time travel whether it be for the black moon family arc or cosmos arc since in both the anime and the manga chibi chibi came from a different timeline that's bad and chibi usa came from a timeline that was bad but turned good. sailor moons take on life is strange but be the main character be chibi usa since she time travels or sailor Pluto and your choices determine the outcome or future Usagi from a bad timeline and from her perspective it wld've been interesting to see
