Why this song had 9yo me in tears on a early weekday morning 😭😅 I remember this was played during the scene when she becomes the princess for the first time.
I was about five or six when I watched this episode. I wouldn’t believe children could have such big emotions if I hadn’t experienced it. That episode had me wrecked for a long time.
I think this episode a lot of us in our feelings without even fully understanding why, i know it did for me. Years later and it still brings tears to my eyes.
@@silentfanatic Tell me about it, I mean it's in her name "Sailor MOON", how could they not know it was her? I mean yes, Sailor Venus did masquerade as the Moon Princess and she did have Moonlight based attacks at the beginning, but still...
I’m a kid again. The rainbow crystals combine, The Imperium Silver Crystal, Serena is the Moon Princess!! I’m a kid in the 90’s and I’ve never been happier!
Neflight"s death was THE BIG TEARJERKER not just because Kevin Lund gave an exceptional performance, but I had learned what redemption was for the first time and Molly's heartbreak made it so real.
I've been going over the series watching it again and when I got to that part it's sad that Molly's first Love could not be saved but he died with a heart full of love
This song makes me cry too. Now I am in my 40's and looking back when I first started watching sailor moon I have really good memories of two boys I really enjoyed being with that remind me of Tuxedo Mask. This song still makes me cry till this day.
Had the chance to meet Jennifer Cihi many years ago at a Sailor Moon Convention at a Science centre here in Toronto and performed this song for us. After that, I told her you still got it!
@@simmerszalai9196 thats awesome! My sister and I even took a pic with her at the booth and I also remembered there was a little Sailor Moon dance party at the end.
You had the right idea. When I was in primary school, Sailor Moon was on TV, but I'd prefer to watch Power Rangers instead and ignored Sailor Moon. It took me a good 25 years or so to see how brilliant it is.
Wow, still remember the words 30 years later. I remember I had this tape on repeat. But this and rainy day men were the only songs that I could recall after all this time
I don't care how many flaws the original dub had. I still like it for it being one of the series that introduced me to anime. I think what was amazing is the fact that Viz got the rights and dubbed it all the way through finally. I like the new dub to be honest, I can watch it either way but I like the Viz dub.
This song is so beautiful. It reminds me of my late husband who I found dead. The song describes my love for him and even though he is far away he is my only love ♥️
Jennifer Cihi has a gorgeous voice. This song has such a great 80s power ballad vibe. You never really know good this track is in the episode with the dialog and sound fx. Btw listen to the song with really good headphones ( studio grade) it's worth it. The guitarist in the closing solo is using an Ebow which creates a "bowing" effect like a violin can create. Sounds so epic!
@@noblelies You are welcome. Not a lot of people have heard of them out side of music. I've thought about getting one just so I can learn the last lead of this song.
It's really strange how most of the DiC dub missed the mark with the dub itself, however the music. The music captured the spirit of all of Sailor Moon (both manga and anime) it evokes so much nostalgia and feeling, like this song in particular is so bitter sweet. It's interesting, it really does surpass the original JP 90s anime in that department. It makes me wonder if in the 90s, if anime wasn't niche, wasn't butchered to hide queer characters and violence, would DiC handle the dub differently? I did see a clip of DiC fighting for the rights to Sailor Moon, where it almost became a live action/western cartoon, but this company at the very least kept most of its original state.
The nostalgia 😩😭 This song had me in a chokehold for years after I first heard it when I was little 😂 I still love it, remember the lyrics to all the songs 🥹
I remember waking up early in the morning watching the 90s Sailor Moon on T.V📺before or while getting ready for kindergarten or first grade or even on the days that I didn't have school I loved watching the English version of Sailor Moon it really is so nostalgic and still to this day as a 27-year-old and 2023 this song still makes me tear up and gives me goosebumps especially when that electric guitar solo starts playing💯👏🏻😊💟🌙💎⭐🌠⏱🌹
Me and my sisters were OBSESSED with this song and this scene when we were little! The first time was watched it on Fox Kids we were hooked and begged our parents to let us watch it a second time on Fox Kids +1 an hour later. Our parents said we could but only as long as we did our homework first 😂
Man, I’m in my 30s and I still love Sailor Moon and this song. It brings tears to my eyes and makes me think of being reunited with the love of my life someday who passed away last summer.
May 26 2023: I regret not talking to him sooner. I regret hurting him. I regret not showing him that I did liked him. I think my heart hurting this badly. Was a sign that we were meant to be. But because I kept hurting him, I lost him. But I know in another life we’ll meet again. There’s no way in hell I would ever let him go. I’m sorry. I wish I spent more time with you. I only just realized how much you meant to me. I’m stupid for hurting you. I’m stupid for treating you like crap. I never deserved you because I always hurt you but you also knew this yet you would come back. Thank you 💓
You broke the ice very well! First comment in nearly 8 years, then a couple more right after you commented :P. I agree, very iconic song, one of my favorite of all time.
5th grade me had some EMOTIONS over this song. A rare instance of an English dub going above and beyond. It had its major flaws, but I still love the NA dub.
I'm a lover of the Japanese version, but the episode this plays in and the next one are the ones that got me into Sailor Moon back in 2000. Malachite and Zoycite were my favorite pairing though, but now it's Kunzite and Zoisite (don't know why they changed Kunzite's name to Malachite, but I do like the name Malachite for him too).
I just turned 30 yesterday. I was 6 or 7 when I was introduced to Sailor Moon on VHS. My first anime. I won’t forget when it was announced Sarena was revealed to be the Moon Princess. Pretty predictable of a twist
Dude, I am a Gen Z which means I didn't experience the 90's, but I was born in the mid-2000's. But this bring me some form of nalstogia from the 80's or something like that.
Dude, you’re making me feel like an old Millennial. That’s wild that 1995 was nearly 30 years ago. It still feels like yesterday! Still, I’d never trade it for anything, and I miss those days. I appreciate that new generations are finding this stuff.
This song. This fucking song. It got me thru a very tough time. My boyfriend and I were broken up at the time, and I kept singing this song, particularly the line: "There will come a day Somewhere far away In your arms I'll stay My only love." I believed with all my heart that I would be able to fix the relationship (since it was my fault it ended in the first place). And eventually we did. We have now been going for about 8 months now, which is by far my longest lasting relationship I've ever had. I couldn't be happier
It makes me emotional as much as when I heard it for the first when usagi was revealed as moon princess im just glad her true love didn’t die in that episode
The Manga, Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos have meaning quote "Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the thing you can and have the wisdom to know the difference."
Anyone have a 4K (1080p would work too) version of the thumbnail picture? Would like to use it as a wallpaper. sans the "songs from the hit tv series" if possible
Seems like the only res that exists is a 1000x1000. I photoshopped the text out. Can't post links in YT comments so I have to type it out. The link address is imgur *dawt* *cawm* *sIassh* dDbAC5J *dawt* jpg
Could any of you make a beautiful love music video about Mickey and Minnie Mouse with this music? That'll make a great music video for Mickey and Minnie or Donald and Daisy how about that?
@@retroguy9233 ehhhhhhhhh there's nostalgia but that's all there is if i'm being honest. I won't watch the Viz dub and i wish i could find the 90s dub more available but it's not good. lol
