He has a lot of good things to teach about Christ, but I was really not enjoying some of his ideas which seemed to come straight from the Democrat party of the USA. Monks on Mount Athos are always trying to be humble and they don't show any signs of sainthood. Maybe it was out of humility... or he knew something more than we do...

We in the Catholic Church as stated in the Catechism believe that other religions contain rays of truth that one who believes in such but seek God with all their heart may receive grace. We acknowledge that there are those people who by no fault of their own, were never given a chance to hear the Gospel. The polytheism of other faiths is the idolatrous worship of demons as stated by Psalm 96, though there are well-meaning, virtuous people from these belief systems. But here’s the tricky part. The manifestation of their so called “powers” are most likely of diabolical origin as seen in a myriad of spiritual, magical or occult practices around the world, even going as far as rendering worship into the cosmos itself that were forbidden for God’s people, stated even in the time of Moses and clarified in the Catechism (ref. Deuteronomy 18: 10-12, Wisdom 13, CCC 2116-2117). We also know that there are religions that are inherently dangerous like Satanism and Islam. Surah 9:29) and the institution of a Caliphate under the inhumane Sharia Law, therefore diminishing human dignity and the common good. Christians must keep proclaiming Jesus is the way the truth and the life that no one comes to the Father but through Him (ref. John 14:6) and His Name is the only Name under heaven about which we are to be saved (ref. Acts 4:12) else Christianity will be seen only as a privileged way when other lesser ways can supposedly also take you there. We don’t want to reduce it to that level. The standards of judgment would be different for people who did hear and had a chance to accept the Gospel but outright rejected it. About the good people of other faiths who never became Christians when they die, well its God’s business how they will be saved from then on as each of them and each of us Christians will have particular judgments then. Daniel, there'r many "good people" who might serve demons and go to hell after that and many nasty looking orthodox who will go to heaven. Why is that you ask? It's simple: virtues are a natural part of a human being, a gift from God, so even a servant of devil, while not "touched" by the demons (who have no reason to fight for his soul since it already belongs to them) may look good and have some virtues, what's exactly what demons want (to attract more people to demonic cults). While an orthodox person can be waging a daily war against evil spirits and his own passions and be sometimes loosing this battle, being not a very pleasant man to the outside people. But God will know his struggle and have his judgement accordingly as well as on the first one. That's why appearance and visible virtues can not be a mearuse of salvation. "Many of these also have "powers." What are we to make of this?" - yes, and these powers are not from God, simple as that, and you need to be aware of this spiritual fact (if you believe Orthodox view on this of course, as you can see St. Paisios did not have two opinions on the question..)

@@admin8784 Holy Spirit is the third Divine Person of the Holy Trinity. He gives supernatural Graces, when we receive Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, etc. also when we pray. Children of God are the baptised, it is not everybody.

Jesus Christ says that he is the Logos, this is a Greek word which can be translated as Word, Verbe, or principle of logic, that which is fundamental to reality. You see Logos is not simply a person divorced of everyone else, Logos is the fundamental person who brings meaning to everything that exists and who should guide our actions and thoughts. All true meaning in life is a manifestation of Logos, and we must race towards it with open hearts. Christians know Logos personally, so we Christians can more easily identify the path to Heaven. But pagans for instance see Logos in defending the innocent, in fighting for justice, etc but fail in worship. You mention a master coming in different garb, why not, but the question is does this master contradict himself? Remember that Logos is the fundamental reality, no lie can subsist in Logos and it seeks to bring all things into the light, so we must judge the supposed garbs according to if they contradict Jesus Christ who is the incarnate Logos. The Church is like a training field of warriors for Logos, and you are outside doing what you can to keep up. But if a man is damned, he is damned for his own fault, as God is more gracious to the ignorant yet they may fail nontheless. 3. Why did God not allow everyone equal knowledge of Logos? Because we are not the only people he has been testing. He has tested pure spirits, the angels, by immediate knowledge. And he has tested composite souls, humans, by mediate knowledge. So that on judgment day, all perspectives may be represented, and that we may see the beauty of the angels who respond to Logos with perfect knowledge, and the beauty of humans who respond to Logos with imperfect knowledge. There is spirituality outside of the church, yes. But there is no path to God outside of the church. I'm of the opinion that because Hinduism was a scythian religion, it could have been a valid path to God. But in its modern form, changed by dravidians, I don't think so.

Saints exist for thousand of years... There is for example, Saint Elijah from the old Testament. Catholicism is relatively new... Orthodoxy is the true faith. The holiness of the saints can be seen through their miracles which they make to turn us sinners to the true faith. But you don't know what you're talking about and that's why you are endangering yourself.. Pray to God and Jesus Christ in order to receive the true faith and to find salvation. @@uclunite2452 The prophets venerated in Orthodoxy are saints because they couldnt have known or have seen what the saw and knew, if they didnt receive the holy spirit and the blessing of God. The same goes for the miracles he made until now. Do you want to say that Mother Mary is not holy? I dont believe that people only started to pray to saint Elijah since 1752... The traditions of saint Elijah are deeply engraved in the romanian land, where I come from. I dont need to do research. What can you find in the internet anyway? Definitely not the holy truth! If I want to know God and the saints I pray to them! For the soul not to die/ suffer in eternity, people need to pray to Jesus Christ, read the holy scriptures and receive the holy body and blood of Christ to receive the holy spirit.

@@uclunite2452 I dont know where you get your dates from and if you are only refering to the catholic church but good if someone had the blessing fpr mother mary to appear in front pf him/her in 1949! But I know people from my family who had miracles with mother mary and I also saw her and she watched over me in my sleep. A few weeks ago my mother Was very sad and wanted spiritual alignment from mother mary. She couldnt sleep. (I and my mother share a bed ) The she spoke to mother mary (only in her mind, not out loud!) That she would like it for her to pet her head and how happy she would be if that was possible. And then I unconsciously, while sleeping, got in a sitting possition and pet the head of my mother very gently and got then again in sleeping position. This was a miracle and a sign that she is always with the ones who believe and pray to her. God have mercy on us, amen.
