Camille Saint-Saëns 1835-1921 Piano Concerto No.2 in G minor op.22 00:00 1. Andante sostenuto 11:16 2. Allegro scherzando 16:54 3. Presto Jean-Yves Thibaudet, piano Charles Dutoit, conductor L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
Naturally there are a number of pianists who have performed Saint-Saëns's piano concertos brilliantly. However word on the street is that Thibaudet goes beyond that. Thibaudet OWNS Saint-Saëns. It seems that God sent Thibaudet to Earth to make sure that Saint-Saëns's piano concertos were done right.
Jean Yves is a genius and this is an astounding display of breathtaking pianism at the service of the great romantic tradition... the orchestra (conducted by Dutoit?) also phenomenal! An inspiration to all who love art and the search for Truth and Beauty Eliot Fisk
Dávid Rehák Certainly some people don't deserve to have animals. It organisations such as this one that gives them hope. I'm so happy that the little fur baby was rescued. That the so called owners be fined and jailed for animal cruelty. Thank you HOPE FOR PAWS. Also other animal organization. Xo
Saint-Saëns has the same birthday as John Lennon, i.e. October 9th. And Saint-Saëns was born the same year that Mark Twain was born, i.e. 1835. That's almost interesting, isn't it?
Thibaudet is one of those so-so pianists (yes, I'm explicitly referring to Van Cliburn and Gary Graffman) Americans think of as being world-class, if not plain geniuses. Well, I'm sorry to break it for many of you: they're not.
