Saitama's super serious punch was so powerful it broke the fourth wall and destroyed the budget for season two

Season 1 of One punch man is probably one of the best thing that ever happened to be created by the anime industry.

The music was so sad at the end of the fight because Boros and Saitama had the same problem. They were too strong and fights ended so easily that they forgot the feeling of being alive during a close fight. But, Boros finally felt that way again at the end of the fight, "This man... makes me want to go all out!" Sadly Saitama was still too strong and to make Boros feel better Saitama lied saying the battle was hard-fought and Boros knew that was a lie and called him out on it even going as far to say "It wasn't even a battle." In the end Boros called out Saitama's name not in anger for beating him, nor in gratitude for fulfilling his dream, but in sadness and pity that Saitama was too strong.

Fun fact : Saitama just adds a little extra power in serious punch as compared to normal punches. He just says "serious" to make it sound cool.

This episode summarizes what anime can display in terms of action that live action movies cannot. Scenes like these can only be portraited in animation.

Easily peak animation. It’s genuinely one of the top craziest fights animated that I’ve ever seen. Also, you have to feel bad for Boros there, he could’ve stomped literally all of the other heroes, but he just met the wrong hero.

Saitama's "Serious punch" didn't even touch Boros. It was only the force generated by Saitama punching the air that split the clouds and utterly destroyed Boros

The crazy thing is most of the insane Saitama vs Boros fight was animated by one man, Yutaka Nakamura. He's one of the best around and he works for Studio Bones but Madhouse brought him on. He even goes under a different name in the credits. I hope season 3 moves to Bones just for the fact that we would get more of his goated animation.

8:21 he's calculating the amount of power to use to go back to earth, 1:25 he's Tank Top Master (rank S), 2:28 he knows his help is unnecessary since Tatsumaki is strong, 3:18 they're probably trying to preserve stamina for a longer fight since they didn't know how to kill it, 9:10 i think Tatsumaki realizes that the ship was damaged by something else(Saitama), 9:20 he probably feels happy cuz he correctly uses the right amount of power to go back to earth, 10:57 i think Saitama respect him by using the exact amount of power to give him the excitement of fighting knowing how it feels to be too strong and since it will be his last fight

This was an amazing and legendary season which is probably why so many people got into the series after watching it. That Saitama vs Boros fight was such an amazing, legendary, and spectacular fight with some of the greatest animation ever for it. I also love the small details where other than the first two punches that Saitama throws - the one that broke Boros’s armor and the one that took his arm off - Saitama does nothing but block, catch punches with his hands, or take hits until the end of the fight. He spent that whole fight giving Boros the fight that Boros dreamed of and yearned for, the reason he even came to Earth to begin with because Saitama related to him so much. Then Boros’s heart beating from excitement like Saitama’s did in episode 1 just runs the parallel even more. And then as he lays there dying, Boros realizes that Saitama was never going all-out and had been holding back the entire fight, stating Saitama was too strong. And really he was right, if Saitama did not want to gift Boros a last fight that he would get a thrill from before dying, Saitama could have killed Boros in just one punch. Saitama really is a nice guy even to some of the enemies. The guy who threw rubble at the spaceship was Tanktop Master by the way, an S-Rank hero and master of those two stupid low class heroes who accused Saitama of being a cheat in the meteor episode. If the anime had caught up to the web comic by now, Nick would've passed out from the adrenaline. This has one of my favourite scenes in all of anime, and I love it.

Nick the thing about the Saitama vs Boros' fight Is that Saitama *could* have beat him in one punch but after hearing him at the start of how he could no longer find anyone to give him the thrill of a fight (something Saitama understands) He let Boros go all out out so he could finally experienced the thrill of the fight. In fact, The heartbeat right before the 'Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon' is supposed to parallel the heartbeat Saitama himself had back in episode one during his dream fight with the subterraneans.

The sad version was sad af🙂. I felt bad for Boros because he knew saitama never went all out. He still isn't, but i am happy for boros again because he got to fight with everything he got

This episode was absolutely insane, I watched One punch man S1 like years ago and I still frequently rewatch Saitama vs Boros

When you asked where the intro was I had a devious smile on my face

as the first anime I watched, after the first episode, I was hooked a watched it all. after watching a few dozen other shows i can confidently say it still ranks in the top 4 favorite

What I love about the final episode is that it's a callback to episode 1, when Saitama is dreaming about the invasion of underground people he feels like it's the first time he's ever had to go all out and in that moment when the music swells a heartbeat can be heard, something that truly ignites his excitement for finding a worthy opponent, until it just so happens it's all a dream. In the final episode, Lord Boros has the same moment, as he too experiences the same sensation and the heartbeat. It all comes together.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say this is the most hype fight in all of anime. The animation, the soundtrack, the emotion, everything was top notch! 🔥

Bro when that intro song played... I shed a tear because how epic.

The season one opening playing during this already exceptionally epic battle made it even more epic and thrilling. I don't need to say something about the animation since everyone knows and admits that the animation was superb.

A lot of people don't know why OPM season 1 has GOD TIER animation, It was because of Different renowned and talented animators from other renowned studios getting together because the Main director says They have the free reign on how to express and animate it however they want, OPM only have decent budget but the animators were motivated because they can do whatever they want in the show.

Just randomly came across this video, but I agree. This is in my top 3 Anime, right behind Eminence in Shadow.

The main reason why the animation in season 1 is so good is because the director of the season knew a bunch of super talented animators, who did not return for season 2. Even so I believe that the animation in season 2 would’ve been leagues better if they took more time, S2 was pretty rushed if I remember, but there are still moments with great animation.

10:03 Shows Boros's heart beating from joy of an all-out fight he has longed for. Same way it was shown for Saitama in episode 1 (14:12 in your ep1 video). Boros and Saitama have the same dream, only Boros's came true and Saitama's yet to. Which makes Saitama Boros's hero as for this episode changed the 1st episode from "man" to "hero". If it's posible I'd love to get pinned since not so many people understand this important aspect of the relation.

This season is something that will never be repeted. Animators who already love the one punch manga before start the work, people with a great talent who really want to participate in this project, not just for money, just a group of people who love the series and her job doing an awesome work. Something like TLOTR trilogy, the perfect moment, the perfect cast and awesome professionals working together to create a master piece.

My best friend was never as much into anime as me, but after he finished the first season of OPM it instantly became his favorite show.

Just want to point out that season 2 had a good animation if u count that they made whole season two in 6 months if u count that,they made a god tier animation. If u watch it when episodes pasts action and animation gets better and better its not about team its about time Im sure season 2 animators were talented as well

You'll really enjoy season 2. Saitama is awesome as usual but the rest of the heroes really get the respect they deserve. It highlights the courage it takes to be a hero who isn't invincible

I know this is not a serious anime or anything, and I'm glad you had your fun (which you should have, this episode is crazy), but it always baffles me how reactors don't understand that final moment between Saitama and Boros at all. It's probably one of the saddest moments for Saitama, but nobody seems to care

The sad music after the fight is the show that after all that Saitama still has yet to find someone he can actually experience an all out fight. He realized Boros was the same and it’s why Saitama dragged the fight on to give Boros what he is looking for. The heartbeat Boros has is also a great touch

The animation next season isn't bad. It's different. So many people dislike when things are made differently, and those people go out of their ways to trash-talk the second season. So many of us actually don't mind the second season's animation, especially because the story itself isn't lacking. Here's the thing: A show with great animation, yet a terrible story, isn't worth watching, but a show with decent or bad animation, yet with a good story, can often be worth it, if the story is to your liking.

Kinda feel bad for Boros at the end. Saitama was purposely holding back so Boros could enjoy the match because saitama knew that feeling to well.

I have to say something, the final battle between Boros and Saitama is sad 'cause Saitama lose... they both were the "strongest" in their respective planets, Boros was so emotive about finally have an enemy that were stronger... and Saitama in the end says "yeah... you were very strong" and Boros says "you're lying...", its because between them the only one that got exited and really enjoyed the Fight was Boros... that moment is sad because Boros won the fight of "have a battle that satisfies my needs".

this was one of the most amazing fights in anime like people went crazy on this ep and this is kinda the year where Madhouse is still on it's peak animation, ik that the people they got for S1 are like the A-team freelancer animators but I just miss Madhouse being the powerhouse before MAPPA which is still kinda Madhouse but they just did their own thing and MAPPA was created u guys what I'ms aying

This show instantly jumped to my top 5 of all time right out of the gate.

Season 3 has been confirmed, though we do not know the animation studio yet, is bound to be an insane season a year or so from now. All I can hope for is for season 3 to get animated by studio like Bones who has some of the madhouse staff and they've done a fabulous job with Mob psycho.

This show had a star studded cast of animators throughout the industry and it’s a shame but we probably won’t get the same cohesiveness and quality with the series again just cause they did so well that they shot any replacements out of the water.
