This is why I say that Saitama’s sense of heroism is equal to Mumen Rider’s. The fact that he was willing to smear his own image to give the credit to the injured heroes.

here's the thing. Saitama is a hero with no body to sacrifice. he can't be broken, hurt, or beat in any way. So when Sea King is dead and everyone begins to turn on the fallen heroes who gave it their all in the face of death to hold him off and protect the civilians, Saitama sacrifices the one remaining thing he can as a disenchanted unbeatable hero, he sacrifices his humility and pride. he calls himself a cheater and convinces everyone that he just finished it off, so that all the other heroes can get the respect they deserve for their actions. If it weren't for the earlier heroes; stinger, lightning max, purri purri prisoner, snek and the B's and C's in the shelter, Genos and Munmen Rider, all those civilians would be dead. but the people don't see that sacrifice, they only see a single C class and a dead monster. saitama corrects their view and takes none of the glory at the end of the day, because for him it really was nothing. a single punch is less than some of the throwaway monsters get, and saitama didn't even show up in time to actually save everyone. all those heros could have been saved if he got there sooner. in the end, he failed to save everyone, and took none of the glory for it, like a true hero should. if you think to his backstory, saitama wasn't much different than Mumen at one point. an average guy with average abilties and hero's heart throwing himself into impossible fights for nothing. perhaps Saitama will be the strongest hero ranking above even Blast, but both him and Mumen can share the seat of truest hero.

you didn’t notice, but Mumen Rider was the one who wrote the “thank you” letter to Saitama in the end. another thing, Saitama punched the Sea King so hard that it blew the rain away. ANOTHER thing, Saitama was laughing and said all of those thing to portray himself as a cheater because he noticed the civilians starting to doubt the other heroes, and decided to bring light to the fallen heroes, so that the civilians would realize that it was because of those heroes that they’re still alive, due to Saitama being late. he sacrificed one of the only things he has to lose as an unbeatable character; his pride and glory.

"Mumen Rider" literally means "an unlicensed rider." He had his motorcycle license suspended because he was repeatedly caught for speeding on his way to disaster areas.

Mumen Rider's one of my favorite characters. Not enough flare or impressive ability to make him a top pick, but enough that I really like him. He's just a genuine dude who's always trying his hardest and doesn't have an ego.

Fun fact: the person who founded the hero association is the grandfather of the kid with the ass chin, that's why you see him in the other episode and he started it because Saitama saved his grandson

It was this episode that made everyone love Mumen Rider. The unwavering will to fight even in the face of unbeatable enemies struck a cord with anime fans. THATS what you were going through. It's called The Feels, and every anime fan has experienced it before.

I just love how Saitama is so strong when he killed the Deep Sea King, he also blew away the rain, but he didn’t even realize it because to him it was just another normal punch. Also Mumen Rider sending him that letter was such a nice way to introduce another friend for Saitama. Also I love how even the opening states how Saitama is a hero nobody knows because barely anyone actually knows how strong he is or that he is in fact a hero ^^

This episode is what makes him the best superhero to me. The moment he realizes that all the other heroes are going to get shit talked because they can't be as strong as him, he saves their reputation by putting his own reputation down. He's not only a hero to the citizens, but he's also a hero to the other heroes.

you finally see why everyone loves mumen rider. he isn't the strongest hero, doesn't have the coolest power or outfit. he's just a guy trying to do what's right to the best of his ability. unyielding even when all the odds are against him. on top of all that, he actually recognized Saitama's sacrafice and thanked him for everything. in fact I think he's the first person in the entire series to actually thank Saitama for anything, outside of genos maybe. he's just a guy you can't help but to root for.

This is my second favorite episode of this season beat only by episode 12. I love Saitama in this episode and the last accepting his role as a disliked hero that’s constantly being underestimated. Especially in this episode where he does it to preserve the reputation of the other heroes, especially Genos (and to a lesser extent Mumen Rider). He’s such a stand up guy and it makes me love his character, because even though he claims he wants recognition for his deeds, he not only gives that up for his friend, but also proves that he truly is a hero for himself/for fun.

The scene where he pretends he only finished off the monster is one of my favourites in the series because, in a previous episode, we saw how he despairs over not being known at all despite doing hero work for years. He wants attention/ a fan club, wants to be recognised for his work...but not at the expense of other heroes. It was a great setup of one of Saitama's main character points and paying it off with him prioritising others, just great writing - moves from a couple of almost throwaway gags about his character to repositioning those same traits in the context of a much more serious and impactful scene.

"Why am I on the verge of crying my eyes out?" Because Muman Rider is, probably, the truest example of a hero in this series. It isn't about winning or losing, it's about taking the role of a hero and protector more seriously than anyone else.

you should react to "one punch man forever" its a fanmade opening that was created before the anime came out. it does have spoilers though so you should watch it after season 1

Fun fact: Mumen Rider's VA also did Gojo Satoru's voice. He's the strongest in another anime.

There Mumen Rider has his best moment, literally yelling that he's fighting against all the odds, but Saitama got one as well. He took hate to avoid the people disrespect the other heroes who risked their lives and made time for him to arrive. There Saitama saw that being famous wasn't worth it if that meant ignoring the others who unlike him put their lives on the line.

Your channel is the best reaction channel of all time. With most reaction channels, people mainly watch because of what the channel is reacting to rather than the reactor themselves. You are the only reaction channel that I watch simply due to the personality reacting rather than the content. You could be reacting to paint drying for 10 hours and I'd still watch the whole video through. Keep up the videos man, loving this stuff!

LET'S GO! I was waiting for this episode way to much! And this isn't even the CRAZIEST scene in ONE PUNCH MAN! I really can't wait for the last episodes of this season! I don't know what Nick is gonna when he sees that scene😂.

I like Mumen Rider, but as beautiful as the scene is, it shows how broken the Hero system that the world relies on truly is. Not every hero is willing to sacrifice themselves as Mumen Rider, had Saitama not showed up, all it would have been is empty words and everyone would have died anyways. The people are paying for the tax dollars of people who are either too highly ranked (like the A Class Snek who got his ass kicked) or not enough for the people who actually can make a difference (i.e Saitama and a few other heroes you'll meet later on) due to the ranking system throwing them underneath.

I thought mumen rider is the no 1 hero blast for 2 years but this year when i watch it again i related to him more as a human , not as a anime character , he is just a normal human who just want to do good works but stuck in the anime world !

“One Punch Man” and “Tiger and Bunny” are my favorite hero animes

The foreshadowing of how he stopped the rain with a punch just makes this ep even better

Uhhmm.. I don't think Nicholas understood what Saitama did. He did what he did so that the efforts of the fallen heroes wouldn't go to waste. He wanted that the efforts of those heroes be recognize. Yes they were beaten miserably including Mumen Rider. But at least they tried, they risk their lives to save those people. They bought time for Saitama to arrive. Therefore he chose to be hated rather than admired.

I used to dislike Mumen Rider too but he's grown on me, reminds us all that we're just human but want to do great nd godly things. I can respect that

Thats what i love about this show. Like besides its comedy and all that. It show us the determination and emotion the character going through and it made us connect and relate to them more basically it life at its hardest

Nice reaction Nicholas! This episode is special cause we get to see Saitama giving up the credit for beating the Sea King so that people appreciate the hard work done by the other heroes. Despite wanting to be recognized he turned people against him for the greater good. Mumen rider is also a great character because he has the spirit of a real hero and Saitama acknowledged his strength to keep going besides everything. Mumen was also the only one expressing his gratitude to Saitama in the letter and that was enough for him. This show is full of jokes but sometimes takes a rather serious approach to what being a hero should be

I like Mumen Rider. He's your ordinary normal hero making a daily job. No powers, just sheer hardwork.

Mumen rider is a classic example of a real life hero. He tries his hardest to protect others; he can't fly or shot fireballs or kill a enemy with a single pinch. Also loved that he wrote Saitama a thank you letter.

This episode really shows how great of a writer One is. Able to make you feel for a character you were ridiculing just a few minutes ago. A bunch of people have suggested it already but Mob Psycho 100 has even more of that great character writing, and it’s worth checking out.

I used to not like Mumen Rider when the series first introduced him. I thought he was weak (though, this was one of my first anime series I watched) but I started to like and understand him more after this episode. I don't know if you caught this, but when Saitama punches the Sea King he also made it stop raining. Because the shockwave spreading out from the point of impact was so intense it blew all the water and clouds away right then.

I like him and almost all people need some symbols that shows you can do it and he is that symbol he is not stronger than average human but he fights and it motivates others like if I see saitama one shooting god level enemies that just give me relief not motivation to fight but if I see normal human like me fights it shows me that I can do it also and thats the reason we all need such a symbols in our daily life 👍

Mumen Rider actually had a motorbike, but his licence was taken away because he was always speeding to get to the monsters as fast as possible, that's why he's now also called the License-less Rider
