Popeye would still beat Saitama regardless of the recent Manga chapter, "Whatever Saitama's true strength may be, it CAN be measured" plus Popeye can just turn Saitama into an egg and Popeye is still virtually unkillable
Most of the stuff Popeye does happens before he even eats spinach. Also, current manga doesn't really show anything new or amazing in terms of feats for Saitama. That whole "punched out the stars" thing is utter BS and doesn't make sense even in the context of him as a broken character. If he really threw a punch that was so strong that it blacked out a significant portion of the observable universe, it would be enough energy to cause another big bang and literally everything would be destroyed. So this feat isn't even what really happened.... All he did was scatter the photons that came from that portion of observable universe, so nothing could be seen, temporarily.... A very powerful punch but NOT anything we've haven't seen as he did a very similar thing by deflecting the energy beam Boros shot at him. People want Saitama to be so strong so bad they're literally making stuff up to support it. Like I said, if he threw a punch so strong that it destroyed countless stars over VAST VAST VAST distances, literally TENS OF BILLIONS in light years+ in volume instantly, the amount of energy released would literally be something on par with the Big Bang, perhaps even exceeding it greatly, and would thus destroy literally everything, which didn't happen...
For the idea of Spongebob vs. Popeye, I am very confident that Popeye would win because Spongebob is the only one out of the two of them that has an exploitable weakness. If he dries out too much then he's done and unlike Aquaman, Popeye isn't bound to be under water. There might not even be a way for Spongebob to take him out. Even if he erases him (or at least try to) that might not work. So yeah. My money would be on Popeye for sure.
Spongebob was give the ability to breath on land thanks to Bubbles The Magic Dolphin but I overall think the battle would end in a tie. Spongebob can barely lift a weight with 2 teddy bears but he can also erase the entire universe which is the highest and most insane feat ever seen on Death Battle which is why his strength depends on if its humorous like other toon force characters.
@@josueproductions5007 that's not the highest and most insane feat on Deathbattle. For one it was more like pulling some mysterious string and it unraveled the universe and two we literally got many characters wiping out multiple universes and moving at incalculable speeds. The most credit that feat was given is that it took out one universe and it's the fastest CALCULABLE speed feat in death battle history. Which means that it can be measured. While other characters have moved beyond mesurablity. But yea. My overall point was that Popeye has shown zero weaknesses and has shown no way to possibly die clean down to being completely disintegrated while Spongebob has shown that he can die due to the environment without outside help. And Popeye is on land so if there has to be a winner then it would have to be Popeye. Remember Death Battle try to avoid ties and look for any possible way to tip the scales so they would probably go that route rather than just calling it off as a tie. They even mentioned that maybe Aquaman could have won if he was able to take the fight out of the water if it wasn't for him being even weaker to dehydration so he had no chance there. And again Popeye lives on the lands so u cant say the same there. And I'm sure a bubble wouldn't be that big of an inconvenience.
@@demoncyborg8700 I don't know the full extent of Sun Wukong's immortality. But despite his multiple layers of immortality, he doesn't have a feat where he breaks the 4th wall. (To my knowledge, at least) This could be Popeye's ace in the hole, as Popeye has multiple 4th wall breaking feats, like beating the crap out of his own animator. He could do some shenanigans to just remove him from the animation, or to make sure Sun Wukong as a concept no longer exists. Another thing is that the Monkey King can still be incapacitated. He's unkillable, but not unstoppable and he can still be affected by things such as poison, as shown in the actual mythology where he was trapped under a mountain by the one and only Buddha, or how the Scorpion Queen's venom left him in so much pain that his party members had to get the cure for it. So Popeye could land a hit and turn him into bananas, *maybe even strip him all of the stuff that made him many folds immortal,* or maybe something else. Not killing him, but leaving him unable to act.
As for Ultra Instinct...Superman kinda already got a skill like that long ago: Torquasm-Rao (a Kryptonian martial art that sets him in a super-reactive state, much like UI). It was even brought up in his original rundown, LONG before Dragonball Super brought up Ultra Instinct.
Yeah Popeye vs Saitama is one of my favorites the animation the jokes everything was perfect. For another battle I suggest Lex Luthor vs Ironman or Ghost Rider vs Lobo
Even with it catching up to the manga Saitama still loses. Unless Saitama can survive his universe being "turned off" by God or exiting his manga and beating his creator he still is significantly weaker. Anime Logic versus Toon Force one still has rules to obey while the other completely ignores the rules. Take this into fact after Popeye eats Spinach then there is no contest this was a stomp of a fight.
Where is the proof? Cartoon characters aren't meant to be taken seriously meaning they should never be scaled is vs battles cause they vary in different episodes like one episode they could get "injured" to a trip and another episode they will be flying around space fighting aliens or gods from a different dimension. What feat has Saitama shown that are equivalent to what Popeye has done? "Manga scaling" wtf does that mean you mean the stronger his opponent he gets stronger? The thing is if you scale cartoon characters then you have to take every feat they did into consideration so has Saitama ignored his universe being turned off by God? Has he exited his own manga to beat up his animator for trying to change him? Has he punched someone to the other end of the earth and tilted it? Has he interacted with the real world? Also Saitama doesn't have any permanent way to beat Popeye add to the fact that Popeye can eat Spinach and it's gg. Popeye was literally nothing ate Spinach and came back like nothing happened how is Saitama supposed to be at that?
You don't f*ck with toon force. Infinite strength? Yeah, don't mean jack to Popeye. .....Also Nightwing vs Daredevil, Pokemon Battle Royale, Ghost Rider vs Lobo, Ratchet & Clank vs Jak & Daxter, Joker vs Sweet Tooth, Bobba Fett vs Predator, Lucario vs Renamon Doctor Strange vs Doctor Fate, and Mob vs Tasumaki are FAR closer fights that I think you'll enjoy.

Two words: 'Toon Force. The ability to do literally *anything* as long as it's funny. Heck, Roger Rabbit openly explained that to Detective Eddie Valiant. Compared to anything else, 'Toon Force is a whole 'nother level of BS. Can we take a moment to appreciate that they were hitting each other so hard that they broke into other dimensional realities? Not as any kind of strategic or tactical purposes, but as a mere side-effect of the battle itself. Can we also appreciate how durable Bluto is, for being able to survive frequent fights with Popeye over the span of several decades? I should know because I watched Popeye as part of the old Saturday Morning Lineup of cartoons while I was growing up. They *did* do a Popeye movie & it came out in 1980 (I had already graduated high school at that time; Yes, I'm *that* old), before CGI was practical & movies were all made with "practical effects." The title role was brilliantly played by Robin Williams, who had the classic Popeye characterization down pat... 'Nuff said.

Does everything change because of recent developments in the Saitama character? In the latest chapter, it seems that Saitama's power keeps growing stronger as he fights, and the power scale comparison between him and Garou clearly indicates that Garou was left far behind as Saitama became more powerful. Additionally, there was a moment when Saitama grabbed a hyperspace gate or portal, defying the laws of physics by interacting with it. Furthermore, there's an instance where Saitama demonstrated the ability to time travel, which he learned at some point. So, the question arises: do these new revelations alter the outcome of a hypothetical battle between Saitama and Popeye, or does Popeye's incredible survivability still make him the likely winner?

Except Saitama would at bare minimum need to evolve to universal destructive capabilities to surpass the light switch feat which still outweighs what Saitama has shown. At most Saitama is galaxy level, not to mention he’s far slower and technically a worse fighter as at least Popeye is a boxer. “Infinite growth” doesn’t mean anything if Popeye takes him down before he grows
@@hellboundchaoscommand7567 by occupying two spaces at the same time, Popeye has shown off an infinite speed feat, as said by the DB crew themselves in the commentary video. No matter how strong Saitama is or how fast he grows, he can't grow exponentially when he's a statue compared to his opponent who ignores defenses by turning him into eggs. Popeye still wins, no difficulty
