Would you create a video explaining where to find the M4 and AK variants(Cherno, Livonia), they seem to have changed or the spawn rates are far lower. Loot seems to be odd this patch.
Seen other screenshots of the cave art. Reminds me of real life pictoglyphs here in the US Southwest. Would it not be amazing if this is foreshadowing another DLC map in planning as the BI team leads us across the world…😅
This map has been the best experience I've had in my 4 years of dayz. Not just the map being incredible but also the best social interaction. I've had many encounters where strangers just join together around the fire to get warm
Had someone say "come on in and get warm" "I'm friendly" then proceeded to slice my face apart after he gave me a knife and I was preparing a fish. It's kos from here on.
I don't know what you mean everyone I've met is bloodthirsty AF it's worse than Livonia was on launch. I'm getting cut up at spawn for human meat because players can't survive well enough.
@soggysammich8582 had the same thing happen I was sitting in barrack eating food and getting warm all I heard was is that food good? Scared the hell outta me I told him I was friendly and he could come in and get warm
@MrOmgchimps interesting, I've only met 2 hostile groups and I've had about 10 hours of playtime on the map already. Although this is the most cut up bodies I've seen at spawns before in any other map
No, they don't. They should remove it altogether. This isn't a base-building game. All they do is block the entrance of locations from the rest of the players.
@@ScoriacTears i cant see myself playing other maps, they just seem bland in comparison. This is the proper dayz experience. However, there’s too many vaigas, low fps on console at times, and it feels like in certain places like military bases I only find the same loot items. The wolves are to frequent too
@@oh_crumpets the military loots shite even on community servers. I haven't managed to get on official yet but I'm seeing the same weapon complaints across the board
@@amarazane4519 It's an "SCP" It's those weird monsters which are locked up, the 173 one is a thing which moves if you look away and kills you if it gets too close, so you always gotta keep an eye at it.
Im loving this map, i just found my own cave to build in yesterday. I only wish that the bears were polar bears and there was an animal specific to the ice sheets, like a penguin, walrus, seal, or something like that
I found a tiny island that wasn't on izurvive(at least I couldn't find it) south at the edge of the map. It had a tiny hole cave with a skeleton on a mattress.

I swear there's so many creepy sounds on this map, and i don't know if some of them are intentional or not. The other day, I was on a vanilla server near the volcano searching for a guy who had shot at me while I was looking for the scientist. There was nothing around me, just rocks and the snow on the ground, and aside from my own footsteps from me turning, it was dead silent. It wasn't even snowing, but I would hear something that sounded like something in between a low growl and wood creaking, maybe 3 different times in the time that I was there... I've never heard that specific sound before. I don't know, but this map gives me such creepy vibes, especially at night 😅
@squeemhaymmeemhaym9686 No, I didn't. Quick little update tho I played today and at one point, straight up heard a wheeze, sounded like a ghoul... Safe to say I got away from there as quick as I could.
the face in the cave isnt an SCP reference. Its a reference to the aboriginal drawings of supposed extra terrestrials or star people. And with the constellation reference to the arma 3 DLC, Im assuming theyre teasing some kind of alien content for dayz, or maybe arma 4
Not going to build a base in a cave, nor look for bases in there, but the map in the video helped a lot finding the "lore cave" from trailer. So thanks for that Mr. Wobo & keep up great work!

8:33 Tried to just stare at the picture for a bit to see what else I could see... Next to the hunter with the spear looks like a Deer Stag with antlers? With a possible 4 letters written and a question mark? SEWG? Under the stag is the constellation points. between the swirl and the first point looks like 3 letters or numbers. 18P 18F L8P or L8F. Top Middle looks like a small woman walking towards the man in the hut. On the far right side written sideways. Looks Like the letter P and the letter A But A is written in white inside a black small circle. Just how it looks to me
Id love a video about looting on this map. I have an SKS but I dont know here to find the scope, or even mosin/winchester. Im kind of lacking hunting stands on this map. I think it would make sense to add them by the devs
They are going to have to update base building at some point. Ik players have had this…gripe with it for years saying “it’s not needed”. It’s up to the devs to figure out what they want the game experience to be and they shot for a harder map FOCUSED on pure survival with the elements. Part of survival is establishing a base, not being able to building on slightly sloped or uneven terrain should be looked into and fixed AND maybe update how and what we can build. Maybe using a shovel to bore a trench in the ground and then using tree logs for a wall and dirty to hold the logs steady in the ground. Using logs will heat the player and give your base a heat buff. I’ve been playing DayZ since update 1.02 when the LAR came out so trust me when I tell you basebuilding should be looked into at some points look what they achieved with this map only…..imagine the untapped potential.
No. A lot of us hate basebuilding, but as it is now, i'm ok with it. For people who prefer advanced basebuilding should play rust, minecraft and or Community servers.

Part of survival is establishing a base, it would be sustainable for shelter from the elements give you insulation and warmth protection from wildlife that’s all about survival so yes, it should be in there rightfully so. Well, it's pretty clear they don't want the game experience to be about building bases. They have given the player some tools to build simple bases and until they say otherwise I think it's pretty obvious they don't want to prioritize it. They want the game to be what it is already. A game about survival. I disagree that building a base is essential to survival. A true survival experience means you live in the world and deal with the conditions. Look at "The Long Dark". A true survival game with harder survival mechanics and no base building. Having a base to call home kind of diminishes the survival experience in my opinion. It should be hard. You shouldn't be able to have a place to run back to after you die and gear up. That's not survival. I've explored most of the map already and have had no problems dealing with staying alive. Sure, it's been harder than the other maps, but I've made it through the hard times every time and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
@@littlec916 I read all of your points and I still feel like there is a huge disconnect with a small amount of players who don’t want a base building update as they feel “it’s not survival this isn’t Minecraft” i’ve heard the same argument over and over again, and I will still reiterate the same exact points. This game is based off of every survival mechanic you can think unique to developers to figure out what they want to ultimately be, but if they chose to not have any building at all, even mechanic in the first place one can say yes it was was just an early phase and they wanted to see what players wanted and what feedback they would get understandable to have an answer like that, but I would still rebuke the same. It is a survival mechanic that is why they want it in the game. For example Wes Stroud, who used to do Survivor Man would always say that establishing a base of operations or at least something that somebody can come back to depending on their survival if they want to keep moving or come back to a spot where they know they can be safe from the elements protected from wildlife have a place of comfort which is a huge, emotional boost, speaking of emotional boosts, which also involve comfort is always overlooked when it comes to survival. If you’re not in the right mindset, you’re not going to survive it’s just that simple you can be prepared as anything and still bottom out if you were not mentally ready for at least take precautions to better your mental health when surviving, this new map is a perfect example of why we need these building mechanics updated nothing but pure cold all around, no matter where you look, frozen lakes, frozen ponds, floating ice caps, frozen food having a fire and listening to the crackling sounds can really put a player or in this case survivors mind at ease because you’re using your sense of familiarity with something that’s a home comfort it would be an added bonus if that fire was placed inside of a base not only do you have protection from the weather and animals, but you have a place that you can call home, which will always boost a survivors mental health. Sorry I’m going to have to have to stick to my guns like I always have. I’ve been playing the game since 1.02 i’m definitely the right person to ask about what should be added into the game whether somebody agrees with me or not I may not be developing the game, but I sure as hell have been around long enough to understand the identity of the game is.
@@IsaiahGuerrieri that's cool man I mean I appreciate your opinion but I don't know if it's right to try and say your opinion is the right opinion because you've been around long. I've got almost a thousand hours in the game and I have friends I play with daily who have been playing since the game first released as a mod and they share the same opinion as I do. We don't ever build bases and we avoid servers that have base building as a core mechanic. We enjoy the vanilla experience much more, including on namalsk and sakhal. If you really need a base that badly then there are plenty of servers that offer better base building especially on PC.

that's the reason they made dayz. there's further explanation on dayz lore if you play namalsk. basically aliens sent a virus to earth cos we unknowingly nuked their planet (lantia) through a wormhole.
Also about rhe vulcano if you zoom in the izurvive map on the vulcano you can see there is contaminated zone but if you look go up to the vulcano you cant see any toxic zone or something like that
LETS GO! I loved arma3 contact dlc. If we get some sort of mystery of them in dayz i would be really happy. Maybe they were the ones that brought the virus?
I really wish dayz didn't have the worst base building mechanic. It would be insane if you could power buildings, board windows and actually place the structures that are in the game. It would be so funm
Rly hope this map will get some updates, the middle feels sometimes unrealistically empty and some pois are just for show (in short, don't wanna write too long, yt is not for ppl that can read more than 100+ words at a single time and still keep focus)
@wobo To my surprise, Bohemia quietly ended several official console servers this update. Just thought I’d point it out, as I’d not seen you cover the change. Many of these servers had Discord and Meta communities unofficially linked to them and we are sad to see them go. RIP ap-sg 4440
Questions I have is are there any gas zones,helicopter crashes, military convoys, train events and apparently scientists event. And where to find the new filter bottle.
Also they can’t use peanut because his design is copy written, not by the SCP Foundation, but by the Japanese artist who designed the sculpture that SCP used (unlawfully) for peanut.
Man why won't devs just let people build stuff, I need to run for 20 minutes to find a spot that is at least semi hidden and not sloped so I can actually place my tent
No offence but the one thing ive learned from the devs is that i always overestimate their scope and potential. So now i dont expect anything from them. So many times ive had high expectations about rumours and potential, but if they dont already have the assets they wont do it, and even then itd be amateur work. Wobo you can sympathise with this. We all had higher expectations for what frostline was going to be. For the record i love dayz and i bought sakhal. But their scope is very limited, largely by this frankenstein engine. Is an alien that doesnt move if you look at it even possible on this game? I dont think so. Im not getting my hopes up for anything more and going to assume these cave drawings are just a bit of spooky detail to flesh out the map and the caves. With nothing else to it. (Also would they have the audacity to introduce aliens to sakhal? Some people already compare the map to namalsk because of the winter theme, they might be asking for ridicule if they start copying the supernatural elements as well.)
