Got insanely lucky right after launch and found myself a boat and enough food to make a voyage to the southernmost island within 4 hours. Deadliest part was actually the visibility dropping due to a sudden blizzard while on the open water and not being able to see the closest island. Definitely gonna follow the advice of not straying to far from the coast/ice sheets when traveling.
The play here, is it invites people to be more likely to team up instead of kill on sight as the repercussions are no good for survival (ruined gear) when you start out. For example it's not worth killing someone for their loot early on as the risk of having their gear damaged is a huge loss to you instead of teaming up and looking for warm gear. However the saying still stands: No mic, No life.
I think my best advice is try focusing on heat buffer stat so you can spend more time finding better clothing, I got better clothing after I left the northern coast
We need more official servers. 35 man queues are unacceptable. Leave a like so the see this and repost on every Dayz RU-vidrs vids! We didn’t pay this money to join a queue!
Queue means no people serving hopping all over , lag switching , less duping , less hard logging and combat logging , more interactions , full servers , just log in and go have a snack or a smoke or something. Queue can be a good thing also.
I would love to see a video about all the loot economy changes in 1.26. I don’t think a lot of people know, and I think people won’t like the changes! Such as no more m70 tundra and ak47s on Livonia or many guns being moved to higher tier loot areas. I think this issue needs some recognition, so that more players can make their opinions known to the devs and hopefully they will make this “Regional Loot Economy” a little less intense
My first life on Sakhal has been a wild one. Alot of interesting people. And i havent evem gotten sick once in the 12 hours i just played. I just kept refueling my torch every time i found clothes to make rags. And upgrading it every time i found fat. Which was ALOT because so many dead players everywhere lmao started mid east coast, went all the way around to the north and then south west to the military islands which is where i logged off at
Wouldn't be to excited if you're console chances are it's not going to work I can't find any server no matter what map I paid 26$ to look at the server screen would advise against getting it until servers fixed overall I'm very disappointed was super hyped and can't even play on Xbox btw
Map was alot easier than i thought it would be. It went against my norm of packing light and keeping high stam since i needed to put on heavy clothes, but other than that i only had to eat wolf meat once and i didnt get sick off 4pc's. Bunker was interesting, i just cant wait for whatever they do with nbc gear.
What I the back story on the island? I grew up on the Great Lakes and ate tons of snow growing up. Is there heavy metal in the snow from the volcano or the thermal fields? Nevermind... both of those make enough sense for me to accept that as a simple enough explanation. No volcanoes or thermal vents near the Great Lakes. Lol.😂😂😂
@@MLFv2 i play with my brothers on a private server player vs environment style. we boosted loot and zed count and its a blast. i think frostline is more of a PvE experience than a PvP one
I didn't know there was 3 plus symbols by yhe temperature sign. I thought it would make sense that there would be 3 but after 2 it was taking a very long time so I thought "huh maybe there is only 2". I had a fire inside a building, but only minimal clothes. You must need decent clothing and be next to a fire to get 3 huh. Last night was my first time on sakahl.
ok so I played yesterday, hadn't a clue where to get water. Spent like 3 hours surviving on snow and whatever water you get from food (mostly reindeer). Found a hot spring drank water got instantly sick but I had some tablets. So in my limited experience eating snow when in the red will save you life if you eat it litte at the time. I always get that sickness icon but it disappears just after some short time.
I'm playing the regular version on console and my biggest gripe is they reduce the inventory space to 24 slots for the field jacket and backpack slots has been reduced by 20... Its crazy
Drinking from a plastic bottle full of snow gives me HMP for a few minutes, along with the grunts and momentary loss of hearing. It seems to randomly go away after some time. I'm not sure if the consistent usage on Multi-Vitamins are what is keeping me alive long enough to beat the sickness, but it's been working without the use of chelating tabs.
How to get out of spawn: Step 1: find a knife. Step 2: Craft a rope with 12 rags. Step 3: Get some insulation from hoodies and jeans if possible. Step 4: Build a fishing rod with your rope, long stick and wooden hooks. Step 5: Get fish and stock up on food. Step 6: Find a well to top off your water and haul ass south. Aside from eating people, fishing will be your best bet for food.
Thanks for this. What about fishing? I was fishing, I waited for the splash before tugging and I still got nothing. From the few times I've played Sakhal, I think the only way to really survive for a long period of time is to learn the map. Until then, it's spawn, die, repeat, learn the map...survive. I've watched a lot of people play Namalsk, and Sakhal appears to be a lot more brutal of an environment to survive in.
Nah. Still on my first character. If's way easier than hard-core Namalsk. It's a skill issue dude. Learning the map as you travel is the fun bit. Fishing is the key until you find the springs. Keep warm and find water or fish and it's easy.
have had two lives, and still alive on my 2nd character, i play namalsk exclusively pretty much. If you have multi vitamins and kill a reindeer its pretty easy to survive the cold im only dipping into light blue with good insulation cloths and taking a vitamin when that happens. Not more difficult then namalsk imo, jsut alot harder to find loot and the change to inv slots is tough you cant hold very much. So far the map plays really good def very different then every other map and Sumrack will hopefully add an event like namalsk, havent explored the military islands yet exited to see what they are like cause the main island is lacking military locations in my opinion. The airfield is cool but the other military's dont spawn high tier loot. Very cool map exited to get the hang of it.
My plan was to not use the izurvive map while learning Sakhal... but I've found it far too brutal for one simple reason: water. My most recent character was alive for many hours surviving on the occasional can of soda, basically bouncing between white and yellow health due to hydration. I could not consistently find "wells." Luckily I've noticed most players on official servers are not that hostile on the coast as they're in need of help more than anything.
Should be noted, 1 vitamin every 5 min. Taking more than 1 doesn't do crap hardly when it comes to stats. Also if you have play Arma 3 Tanoa, this is literally the same map and locations but POI structures changed and outer islands half flooded, the major towns and cities are all in same spot.
I did what I normally do on chernarus: run immediately into the woods and get off the coast. I did that 3x. That was a bad idea every time. Even with warm gear. The elevation gets colder and I think there are blizzards too.
Great video! But I'm pretty sure you can cure metal poisoning by eating vitamins. Just got metal poisoning from eating snow, and it went away after I ate two vitamins. EDIT: I also popped one before I ate the snow.
Be nice too even play anything after spending 30 on the new map can't get anything too work just 502 gateway error screens not even community servers are showing for me on ps5
I've played many hours today and haven't died yet, but I have gotten randomly sick. Never ate snow, never ate with bloody hands, never ate predator meat. I drank from wells and got sick 20min later ? Randomly vomiting, popping 2 vitamins and then getting cured. Happened about 4 times total today, I'm not sure what it is.
@@DayZ_Stories god no.. I'm winning & not playing the Campfire META.. stop make a fire.. run some.. stop make a fire.. hungry? make a fire.. thirsty? make a fire.. go look there's a fire.. .... Yeah no thanks.. LOL.. Would rather play Tetris.
@@3Runner95 taste issue.. there is no skill required to make a fire.. I just find it really boring.. I have done outdoor winter camping in -20. the game makes that really really annoying.. Nothing skilful about it. . just not my thing! You gonna tell me I'm wrong because I don't like something?
I been finding a bunch of mushrooms in the deep woods on the mountains, those and rabbits running around. Plenty of food but water can become scarce if you have no tablets.
When you have a cold or flu: keeping yourself well-fed, hydrated and warm will cure it in time without any meds. But if you have developed pneumonia: same trick won't do? You have to have medicine?
4:39 you said nerfs for hydration on baked and dried foods this update. Well dried food didnt give any hydration on the last version either so..maybe you meant boiled?
Kinda disappointed with a lot of the nerfs this update brought to predator meat, inventory sizes, and insulation, but the map looks good. You win some you lose some.
1st life/ 1st death. Haven't been sick, got to the island mb, traded with a player, he died, then I died from low health then freezing to death shortly after. 😵💫
Can you check if it's safe to drink from containers which spawned with water. I don't think they have snow inside of them but you still have the chance to get sick from just dirty water. This is just my hypothesis though.
on official server I started puking and got an illness symbol after eating a baked fish and drinking a few times from the fresh water spring. I am now keeping all my vitals in the white but it seems that I can't get rid of the illness. Does anybody know what it is?
Namalsk snd Sakhal could be good but the player management requirements take all the fun out of the game. In Sakhal 40% of your time will be tedious organising and sitting in front of fires.
Islands are pointless unless making a base all islands have 0 to 5 crates on them the smaller ones have less no buildings or food I suggest not going very risky for little there's nothing out there but a few crates
