The instructions are "bring your palms closer to your knees" but I was never able to fully understand how to accomplish this. I am able to lift half way, but I compromise my back doing so, because I did not fully understand the pose. Thank you for the break down. I don't think I'd ever be able to fully lift up like you did in the video but even to have a proper alignment will be a huge accomplishment for me! Thanks again

Glad I re-watched, surprised then that teachers don’t say “shift your weight onto your shoulders, slightly curve your shoulders into the floor” after they say “put your hands under your hips”

Ah thank you!!! I have been trying to do this for ages and could never get my legs more than an inch off the ground, thank you for being so specific about positioning, which muscles to use, etc. So helpful :)

Amazing insight to the posture ☺️ I struggle a lot with this I have problems with my lower back and my middle/ upper is not very strong I guess. But now with your tips I can work on this correctly to get the benefits and do it properly. Waiting for your next videos so useful 😊

I have always learned it with palms facing up and making a fist. The fist goes under the legs where the legs meet the hips. This makes sense but my elbows are "locked" and cannot go under the body so cannot get leverage like this shows. How do I get my elbows closer? It hurts when they get closer.

This is a very difficult exc ercise but to perfect it , one needs atleast 15 to 30 days of practice. it wont come in a day. mind it.

this is very helpful thanks!! this is the pose i find the most difficult which is so strange because i can do the individual legs easily/get them very high. But both legs together is like trying to get a wet bag of concrete off the floor and my wrists hurt so much!

A lot of people uses momentum to lift their legs, which is just wrong. This is how it is supposed to be done. Thanks for the video!

Hi Joe! I hope all is well I had a quick question about this posture: When and why do you lift the chin and put more of your neck on the ground once reaching a certain point. I find when I let my neck out I can lift further. Thanks!
