Thank you, David! You've graced us once again with your amazing work and new nightmares to scare the new generation of viewers! I speak for everyone when I say we're so thankful to have you here!
People can say Salad Fingers is creepy all they want, but his face after he creates Hubert into a real boy is so cute, his big eyes and smile are so adorable
4:28 I love the detail when Salad leaves the mirror, his reflection turns in to his shadow on the wall. I feel it is symbolic of how Salad ALWAYS feels like Glass brother is still there. Following him and not leaving him alone
Can we just appreciate the incredible improvement the animation quality has? Even the little things like the incredible detail of the water and the overall movement of the characters in astonishing in the best way possible!
@@Yummomummo Does he explain the correct story of Salad Fingers then? MatPat's theory has bits that seem pretty solid so it'd be interesting to know what Firth intended and where MatPat went wrong.
@@47ratsinahoodie He doesn't explain the "correct story" he just says it's not correct. I was going to link you to his tweet about it but he seems to have deleted it for some reason. Judging by his other works and the extremely vague explainations he has given; "I just flick through a dictionary at random and throw out whatever nonsense comes up." I don't think there's a story to it at all.
Am I the only one who actually wanted to give him a hug in this episode? Especially the part where his mom forced him to eat something that made him sick.
There are so many animators on the internet doing easy/safe/trendy work- it's so refreshing to see stuff like this that jumps out of that generic box and does its own thing. You will always hold a very special place in animation and we will always look forward to whatever else you do next.
Actually no in this episode salad fingers is reflecting his mother’s personality and what he saw happen to her. The little flesh boy is salad fingers and, it’s a terrible story of abuse and being mistreated until in the end the mother cuts off all ties with her parents and brother (the glass brother) to raise salad fingers all on her own. In a way it’s a prequel
One of the most original series I know of. It's sad that new episodes take so long to make, but the time and effort spent on them are clearly visible. It's getting better and better.
I actually have a hope/theory that his father might not be as bad as his mother and that his father is just listening to the mother because shes abusive towards him too. I just want someone to relate to Salad Fingers so bad XD
This was one of the most surreal episodes I've ever seen. You've definitely outdone yourself with this one, David. Well done. Also, I realized that Hubert's tears made the puddle to the back door.
The quality improves exponentially with each successive episode! It's incredible seeing how far this series has come. This video was a real spectacle and I was greatly impressed. I'm looking forward to the next installment!
@@ivareskesner2019 and longer and more structured. I personally like the old ways - smaller, cruder, but more frequent episodes, also less structured. I think it's well past the sweet spot of image quality vs frequency.
This was genuinely upsetting but wonderful to watch. Watching a character that I've known and loved for a long time overcome their trauma is very much inspirational in my own struggles. Thank you for making this Mr. Firth.
Salad fingers has turned from a creepy green lookin guy to an actually somewhat likeable character to me. Like he isn’t just creepy to me anymore. I almost felt bad for him.
This was beautiful, painful, horrifying, and charming all in one. What a way to see this character and the entire series evolve. It's not such a mystery why he loves the rusty spoons anymore.
Both can bugger off with their pointless view-desperate videos. The point of films is not for them to be 'explained' but you'll always get somone trying to riff off someone else's creativity like that
@@ThemeParkChomp Gonna have to disagree a little, obviously not all films or creations of any kind are meant to be explained, sometimes they just are what they are upfront and that's definitely okay. But there are a lot of different works that do have a deeper meaning, or maybe even multiple, so explanation videos can help people see the possible meaning much clearer and even help them find what they themselves believe to be the meaning of that work. But I do agree with you on the desperate for views part just a little, when it comes to Film Theory specifically, like jesus how many FNAF videos can you do bro. Side note: explanation videos can also help the work to be appreciated for what it truly is even more, which is also pretty cool
Fantastic, you just don't disappoint with your content! The animation has had a big boost but the core of Salad Fingers is still there and is as entertaining as ever.
“Content”. “Quality content”. “RU-vid content.” Cant wait for the near future where any created thing is ‘content’ as if dispensed from a vending machine of a million choices. Gottu inject that Quality Content to momentarily distract us. What’s inspiration right? Oh no Ive run out of Content to occupy my day!
@@ThemeParkChomp I'm not a fan of the word "content" either :P youtube is getting more commercialised. But the stuff I do is purely hand drawn weirdness! The antithesis of "content"
I think that maybe Andrew was Salad’s father, meaning that this glass brother was saying that Salad was like his father. I loved this retelling of abuse through the concept of reflections and how it really is just you on the other side. I feel like maybe Salad fingers dad died and he was taken away from the family, just like Hubert was taken away here. Salad wants to go back but there’s only abuse on the other side and he can’t stay. He had to come to terms with that he won’t have his old family back and he only now has Hubert to call a sort of son.
I felt really emotional and nearly cried when the new improved Hubert Cumberdale said "I just want to dance on the rooftops for all to see. I'm fresh and ready for life." I love him so much. He's so cute....He's a big boy now.
This episode is definitely the best he ever produced so far. Amazing atmosphere and beautifully unnerving surrealism intermixed with bizarre humor. The art was drop dead amazing, and the music was awesome as well. This whole episode is a chef's kiss.
Lots of people look at salad fingers and see terror and disturbing imagery. But the first time I saw it when I was a child, I thought it was quite entertaining. Not knowing it was supposed to be scary. If I was told it was supposed to be scary I probably would've been scared. My older brother just showed it to me without telling me anything about it.
Manolo Rabanales, I don’t give a flying fuck, if I saw that shit in my bed I wouldn’t be all “oh you got a cute voice your fine make yourself comfy.” No fuck that shit kill it with a stick it’s made out of fucking human flesh you weirdo.
WorldsWorstBoy they all do. And when you’re sad, you can feel good about being human enough to be saddened about it. For if you wouldn’t be sad, what kind of human would you be, eh. :)
