Thanks BUZZRPlus+! BUZZR affiliate here in NYC, WWOR TV My9 originally aired the first season of the syndicated $ale of The Century, beginning with the week of John Goss' big lot win! Memories of a great game show!!!!
Look at Tony Barber, Steve Parr, and Thomy Aigner from Australia, New Zealand, and Germany, respectively. They too, ran to their podiums as the announcer introduced them.
We Need Episode 22, Where John Goss Plays for All of the Prizes. On That Episode, John Has $585 in the Bank. A Win with Just $55 would Give John About $60,000 in Prizes, including a Nissan 300 ZX, Worth over $23,000.
I wonder if they have the NBC episodes from 4/4/85 and 5/20/85? BTW, were there any episodes of $otC with any female contestants named Marcia or Marsha?
Very close game. If John would have gotten all the questions he missed in the speed round, then Ron would have felt a lot more better, because the $25 money card didn't make much difference. Great game for John.
+Frank Logan In John's Final Episode, He Needed $95 to Win All the Prizes, Plus the Cash Jackpot. He Hit that $95 on the Nose at the End of the Speedround.
And he's from my neck of the woods no less(I live not too far away from Fort Lewis, WA... where John was introduced as originally from)... Although, the operations of Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base were merged back in the early 2000s or so, and now it's known as Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
I really did not pay attention to the damn frigging game, I was waiting for one of the male models to show up in a pair of speedos like the blond did in this edition.
