God, it was so great seeing an episode of this show again. Monty and Jay were such showmen with the audience. And they really sounded like they had to know thier lines when describing the prizes because they were rattling off the descriptions of the prizes so fast to keep the show going for the 30 minute time slot. Such a great show.
I could watch these all day long when I was a kid I would be sick alone to stay home from school so I could watch these they came on tv at 3pm before school got out. Monte hall was my favorite game show host.
I like this way better then the new. I think you have a better chance of winning big plus they pick 2 people for the chance of the big deal at the end.
i like this version so much better too the things about the new version that annoys me the most wearing a costume is a requirement not an option only one person plays the big deal they show a commercial before the quickie deals episodes are taped almost a year in advance
I agree! I definitely prefer the Monty Hall episodes the most. Plus they have 2 to go for the big deal which is more exciting than 1 contestant going for the big deal.
My favorite all time zonk came from a greedy woman who have just won a brand new car.Common sense says to quit after winning a brand new car. Tax had already been paid on the new car. Monty ask the greedy woman if she like to trade away her brand new car for what's behind the curtain.Thinking it something better than a car she decided to go for the curtain. Behind the curtain was a fake skunk which the greedy woman had just won. The car she had won would now be send back to the garage. She was not happy to win a skunk. As a matter of fact , she said she would name the skunk she had just won : " MONTY " after Monty Hall. 😂😂😂😂😂
LMAD has been one of my all time favorite game shows since I was a little kid and watched it until the end in 1977, & while all of the other prizes were nice no doubt that the cars they had were THE best reason for watching the show, in fact I have a DVD of a bunch of the cars from the show, after you watch it you’ll wish you had a number of them
Is the dvd available anywhere- that would be very cool. It’s great to see all the early 70’s stuff, and the prices. The box of cough drops was a dime, I think, but the canned ham was like $11!
Yes that was it. It was very interesting to see that because it reminded me of a mobile home. One of the most unique prizes ever offered in a Big Deal. Even I like to stay in one of those if I could.
+Chad Hemstalk They had a camper truck unit that was given away on an episode Buzzr ran...it was worth a couple of hundred dollars more than the Big Deal.
+Paul Duca Is that the one with the guy who looks like Dan Blocker (Hoss)? That was a beauty. In fact, my dad had a truck in that same model and color for years....and a nearly identical camper top.
Some of those costumed people act like nuts or morons. They get too loud, and too frantic. That teacher in that one video sure didn't act like any teacher I ever had, she acted like a loon.Hall had to tell her to calm down.I'd be happy if I was chosen, but wouldn't act like a babbling moron.I'd keep any cash over $800, and if I won costly prizes I'd sell them.Sometimes cash comes in more handy and more of a necessity than prizes.
@@tyrese3745 plus it's television. They don't want calm reserved people taking up airtime. I'm sure they are all told to get loud and excited if they are chosen - you probably have to agree to it to even get a chance at getting in the front rows.
Monty always said that the people he picked were totally at random. If you look at Wayne Brady closely, he has something in his ear and IMO, the producers tell him who to pick.
