SALMON EN CROUTE RECIPE - SORTED 

Ben is just so patient and kind to the boys, telling Barry it's not his fault the pastry is too thick or encouraging Jamie and his spinach dumpling to give some examples and aaaaah it's just so cute!

I just tried it with fresh goat cheese (and a bit of cream) instead of cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious! Thanks for the awesome recipe.

I made this yesterday for my catering class at school, it was so nice everyone loved it.

my friend makes this as a dinner for every birthday party she has, cause she knows everyone will love it despite lots of picky eaters

@001php You're right... it works great with chicken too. Just double check it's cooked right through before serving... it will take a bit longer than the fish.

i love fish, salmon is my favorite. i made some for dinner today actually, before i saw this though! looks delicious. if we can request recipes, i think a healthy desert or a yummy vegetarian dish would be good.

@nevyard yep... chicken works really well. Cut a chicken breast in half (to thin it out) and lay it on the cream cheese as before, well seasoned. Then just make sure it's cooked right through before serving... it may need a few more minutes than the fish, depending on it's thickness.

@muzzyissoawesome there is definitely a point to adding it! wine isn't all alcohol, only about 10-15% of it is, so the 10-15% of alcohol cooks out because alcohol is very flammable, but the rest of it remains and adds a lot of flavor to the dish. i think your mom will understand as a lot of popular dishes use wine that is eventually cooked out, plus you can suggest her cooking with you to make sure you're only using it for cooking! :)

I'm so glad you guys have so many recipes with Salmon, I have an entire bag of fillets and not my favorite fish... The only way I knew how to cook it so I would eat it is teriyaki grilled with some soy sauce on the side! You guys are awesome!

@AQWorldsFan123 any fish that you like would work... although tuna tends to dry out if over-cooked. Not ideal for this dish... but white fleshed fish would be great!

@makemeover365 Chicken takes longer to cook than salmon, so make sure the chicken is thin...but sounds good!

@Chococolococo you can indeed... but wilt it first in a little seasoned butter and then again squeeze out the excess liquid. Too much water and the pastry will go soggy on the bottom when it cooks.

@MsSimixx generally a finger tapers slightly from hand to tip, therefore is not the same size even in relation to itself, let alone other digits upon the same hand. As for it doesn't change I once punched a wall and my whole mitt swelled to twice its normal size.

@xxdevi the alcohol in the white wine well evaporate because of the heat from the stove. So the alcholic content will be gone, so you wont have to worry about it :)

id like to see a sorted french onion soup. that would be nice. i loooooovee it. it seems like it take forever. like some recipes say. simmer for and hour and im like !?!?!?!?!!??!?!?! ..plus i feel like i dont caramalize onions right... so if anything id trust you guys before most other internet people.

RE: woody asparagus ends, I heard that if you save them, they work wonderfully as the base for a cream of asparagus soup, because you blitz them down to a puree.
