Good plan to mainly concentrate locally. Building up a wealth of knowledge takes time. Its nice to have holiday fishing but if you actually want to catch fish like a local fish locally lol. I fish the Yorkshire Ouse/ Ure for em and know lies up and down the river now. Apart from kipper fishing the best of it is over by July as its what Hugh Falkus would have described as a "big spring run river". Ideally id move onto another river from June/july onwards that has runs of fish in summer and back end.
I hear you brother. I’ve been Spey Casting for Stripers on Cape Cod MA. It’s a different sport altogether. Iceland? Norway? The North of Ireland? Thanks for replying to my comment. I enjoy your videos and how you prepare your meals on the two burner. Karla has to be the best companions ever. She is so well behaved. Two handed fly rods: CF Burkheimer and Farlex tells are my favorites. Enjoy
Great film... I love that beat and will be there in 3 weeks time.. Never caught on the Dee but my wife had a lovely 14lber last year from the Bell pool, followed by a flight in a glider from the Aboyne airfield opposite where you were fishing.. Tight Lines !!
Great video again, unfortunately no fish this time, lovely looking beat though. Your don't half eat well Rob. Hopefully you'll pick one up at Dinnet. So pleased to hear Karla is doing ok. Cheers 👍
As a chef I loved the kinda surf n turf thing you had going in the two pans, if perfection was the aim I'd have less ingredients but hey if you're hungry? I'm sure it'd taste good enough. A bit of garlic would go good in there and a thing called Maggi liquid seasoning. It's a yeast extract and a loose liquid, soy sauce, it and tobacco combine well with king prawns done in garlic butter. Anyhow I digress, your grub is good enough. Your fishing is too, keep em coming mate
Paying a fortune to fish somewhere you've gotta pack in at 5pm. And no fishing on Sunday. I think I'll stick to fishing club stretches in England thanks. Scotland seems a bit crap.
@@garyjohnson4778 yeah gets on my tits mate,350 seals they say around findhorn bay now and I saw a picture today of a gossander with a brood of 24 chicks!! On a river somewhere, anyways there was a decent run of fish went through last week we picked off one each, next time your heading north let us know and we’ll get a day with scott the piper in tow 👍
I fish club stretches in England all the time. Pretty much obsessively but I'm still prepared to make the journey north from time to time because some rivers are just a pure pleasure to fish.
@@abakerslife anytime you fancy a day mate just let me know we have the Nairn the conon the ness and the association water in the Helmsdale all with 1 hour or so of me,we can share one of those nice cigars 🤫 💨 🐟
Aye he should have had the proclaimers on and eating shortbread with a jimmy hat and kilt on eh 😂😂 His choice in music was perfect imo but he did sing Donald wheres yer troosers at one point to keep you happy 😂
The Bay City Rollers wouldn't have created the same feeling. Tbh though I did ask myself that question but that was the music I was listening to on the way up so I went with it. When I eventually make it to Ireland I will play Sunshine on Leith to redress the balance.
@steve-no4gi who cares ? His van his music his video, a bit ridiculous hes getting moaned at for not playing scottish music just because hes in Scotland. Its all about the fishing and watching a man and his dog having adventures together, enjoy the videos and don't let the music get to you, personally i love it 😉🇮🇪🍀
The reason there catching so far up the river is because those seals have chased a lot of kelts back upstream and the spring fish like to stop in pools with kelts in them, hence the spring fish so far upstream, they need shit those bastard things
I have a Rab jacket that I used to wear fishing instead of a wading jacket but I wore it out. I did get another one the same though because I liked it so much
