I was a sub 15:00 5k/ sub 69:00 Half Marathon runner up until my late 30s and most supershoes aren't as good for me as they could be and I don't think they are right for more people than people realize. The rocker is too far forward for lots of people, most superfoam mixes are too mushy. I am 6'4" and weigh 175 and that mushy foam is for people who weigh 40 pounds less. So I am actually looking forward to this shoe. I am in my mid 50s now and had surgery for bilateral hallux rigidus in 2012 and I can only run at all in plated shoes since my big toes barely bend. I raced bikes for a decade after that surgery and thought I'd never run again until plated shoes came out. I currently runin the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2 and had some success with the Adidas Adios Pro 3, but I sent a pair of Vaporflys back immediately. Also did not like the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 which everyone else liked - couldn't figure out how a heel striker with long stride length and relatively low cadence could get on with either of them.
The 3hr to 4hr is the normal pace for a person that doesn't want to,or can't, run the mileage it takes to run under 3hr..also for older people it is good to see someone thinks about us who don't enjoy being beaten up by our shoes..great review..😊
Salomon HQ is located at Annecy, France. not that far from Switzerland though ;-) --- Next Marathon at Annecy will be on April 14th. Come on! try your Salomon pair and break a PR by the Lake of Annecy! Then, enjoy a "Tartiflette" to reward yourself! that's definitely worth the trip ^^!
Thomas, just a heads up because you made a similar mistake in a podcast recently: adidas' performance line is called "Adizero", not "Adios". Just saying. Cheers from Berlin / Germany! 🙂
Folks, Salomon headquarters are located in Annecy, a beautiful Venice-like city in the south of France, by a beautiful lake. Maybe you should go visit their lab afterall!
Thomas just like to hear himself speak and interject when someone else is speaking. Just let the guy finish what he’s trying to say before you butt in.
That shoe looks pretty awesome....as a 3:30 plus for sure guy......but...that narrow middle portion of the sole is frightening for someone w wide, flat feet with pronation.....
Wonder how this would compare to an SC Trainer v2, or a Superblast, or a Prime X Strung. I'm considering using the SC Trainer v2/v3 for my fall marathon. Listening to this review, probably Robbe should wear it but just doesn't want to admit it.
These seems to be lower stack height and way more stable then the other shoes you mentioned. The super blast is not plated so for the price u wouldn’t super recommend it unless u wanted to buy one shoe the super comp trainer and superblast would be great. These would also assuming be lighter and provide more ground feel then those super high stack height shoes
These might be a great performance trainer kinda in between that magic speed, endorphin speed and Mach x type feels but way more training oriented and racing oriented like you could do all ur runs in these. 250 is just silly tho like for the target crowed and what the shoes is used for I would have loved too see these at 190 or 200 would have been way nicer
Guys I am a constant viewer of your vlogs and reviews, but please try to have some flow. 20 minutes for a shoe review is too much, especially when you provide a casual, discussion-wise vlog, it gets kinda boring and surely many will skip some the presentation parts!
