Funny thing is I’ve never seen an actual hood review for his food. Seen a lot of people try it but the collective opinion is it’s overhyped and over priced for what you get. The novelty somehow isn’t wearing off though, like it usually does with celebrity endorsement.

@@karollaffn2222 there have been a few instances over the years where Gordon actually enjoyed the food; the Jamaican place was the only place where he actually enjoyed everything (the issue wasn't the food, it was the location and advertising), but he has enjoyed single dishes here and there, usually desserts.
No, I think he's being brutally honest here. Filet mignon is an overrated cut that doesn't have a lot of flavor by itself. He's right to say it's bland; that's in character for the cut and also what you should expect getting steak from a restaurant. Gordon's meatballs looked like garbage so not surprised there either. Could make better ones at home -- all that gunk on the top couldn't hide the bad texture (probably too heavy on the bread crumbs/panko). Both are ludicrously overpriced as well, so the price definitely affects his enjoyment too.
I’ve been to both and can tell you that Hell’s Kitchen is meh. Salt bae has great food but it is expensive so RU-vidrs freak out and say the food is shit.

Reviewing a steakhouse based on filet and meatballs is probably the worst possible way to do it. Filet is considered one of the worst cuts to order by chefs, and meatballs are a way of scamming you into paying top dollar for meat trimmings.
Actually it’s considered one of the best cuts just lacks a little in flavour compared to ribeye or New York strip but is tender asf, btw I’m a chef and filet cooked and seasoned right is amazing it just melts

Apart from its not fresh the lobster is frozen and also shit lobster probably not even Canadian and the wagyu is fake wagyu cause it’s from New Zealand and Australia and the only real a5 wagyu beef comes from Japan
