First off this performance is amazing... HOWEVER SPIN MADE THEM A GROUP! There I said it. She was more than just a DJ she made them whole and to deny her role and contributions is down right deplorable. Their Legacy needs her that’s how important she is.
After hearing Salt say MTV didn't want Spinderella, I can't kinda see how they tried "and failed" to not include her is scenes. They tried to do all close ups on just Salt anx Pepa. Kinda hard when Spin is usually right in the middle........all those wide shots. They fowl too
This performance was later in their career, when they admitted they gave Spin parts to play and dances to do. The complexity always came when number one - there were times in the beginning when Spin was not a part of the group. They did shows as just Salt and Pepa, Then they had Hurby as a DJ and then another Spinderella. Then Salt and pepper got a certain percentage and new Spin didn’t . They both say though that they gave her a portion of their money to even it out. They could not do shows without one another, but they could do shows without Spin. Then in the latter part of their career, they gave her dances and even verses on songs, more than just DJ duties. That song push it is from the earlier music era, but this performance and version of this song is from like 9394.
She was clearly one of the background dancers / are the dancers to be part of the story too? The group is Salt n Pepper where is Spinderellas name? You all need to stop / she was paid for her participation
@@beatricewebb4879 she was way more than a backup dancer, that statement alone is disrespectful to the culture, know your history. Were backup dancers on the album cover? Salt n Pepa has 3 members period it wouldn’t be the same without her. Run DMC would never. They were supposed to set an example as legends. This is too petty for their legacy.
There were two Spinderellas, The second one was a big part of the group (most of the time)... until she kinda got dissed toward the end of the group's 'original' existence. I understand that Spinderella (not sure which one) still does reunion dates with S-n-P!!
I honestly don’t know why they always exclude spinderella because when they perform and she is with them. She is always front and center but is really never mentioned and it doesn’t make any sense to me or why they didn’t change from a duo to a trio and change their name to salt, pepa, and spinderella. I mean I personally think it’s mean. I know they had a few hits before the second spinderella came into the picture but I feel like once the 2nd spin came in they really exploded and I really think it’s mean they didn’t change the dynamics of the group. I mean she even raps in some of the songs as well. Makes no sense, I really don’t blame her for being pissed. I would be too. I mean in this performance she is in the middle for the whole Thing, except for the very end.
@@mayuntakent6359 right it’s so ridiculous and mean. They act like all their success was because of them and had nothing to do with Spin and that’s delusional in my opinion.
If Sinderella is dancing? Who the hell is playing the damn records lol. This is a GREAT performance wow. Their movie is helping me rediscover how great these women are.
At the breakdown... why in the hell did Pepa sound like Yosemite Sam when she was talking to the “homeboys” grabbing their “heads”... what in tarnation 🤦🏽♀️ 😂
& LOOK! I see "SPINDERELLA" - She certainly looks JUST AS SIGNIFICANT as the other 2 , it's a shame how they are handling & treating her these days as if she was just "chopped liver" & doesn't EQUALLY deserve the recognition $$$ & credit as they receive..I hope I'm misunderstanding & that this is not true, because otherwise I'm disappointed in Salt & Pepa as women (& my fav artist from back n the day along w/SPINDERELLA being my fav "equally" as well)...if they are handling Spin in a foul unjustly manner. How old are they acting this way too ?? - they should be "sisters" 1st with equal unconditional respect & love for each other, ALL 3 represented the group - not just 2 - - - I hope it's not true.
I watched on the 2nd attempt. Spinrilla wasn't in the movie much so weird. 90s kid and saw a few videos. Honestly I also thought it was three members. That was until I saw the lifetime movie. 😳
Exactly we know spin wasn't there from the beginning ok cool but DAMN s&p we also know she sho wasn't far behind throughout left just like salt left @ a point came back and was there to the end they ain't feel the need to bring her in @ all shit WEIRD bad look on they part
yes, this is basically a shorter version of their set during the Very Necessary/12play tour with rkelly in 94. It was epic. They were actually more tame on this. Salt was calling out ugly bitches lol in their performace. Just elegant sexy and catty
This was exactly how their 1994 very necessary tour was with r Kelly. That whole concert was epic. It was the height of their career. If u watch their whole Woodstock performance it's a slightly shorter set of their tour routine because they were on tour at the time
Not Only was she Djaying she is smack in the middle of them! I mean give this woman her credit no one thinks of salt and Peppa with mentioning spindarella.
salt n pepa ate this up and left no crumbs. 'very necessary' was salt n pepa at their prime, and this proves it. spinderella is the N in Salt N Pepa and should be widely regarded as the 3rd member of the group
Pepa hair was terrible that way; I didn’t like it then nor now but I always like Spinderella & they azz wrong asf for trying to always exclude her after the fact
No disrespect I have always liked salt and pepper I was raised on them but f*** salt and pepper because they show they true colors when they turn they back on Spinderella real woman's don't do that that's all I'm going to say and imma keep it real case closed
