Sailing down wind north as far as possible. Hurricane season has chosen our direction for us. Ultimately we'll reach Puerto Escondido before the end of June to tuck Rediviva onto a mooring. We'll return by land with a bunch of boat parts before the end of the year!

I AGREE! THEY SEEM TO HAVE CHARTED A DIFFERENT COURSE THAN THE OTHER SUCCESSFUL SAILING CHANNELS...MORE GROUNDED PARDON THE PUN. THEY DON'T PUSH PRODUCTS OR SERVICES... THEY HAVE NOT "SOLD OUT"... I HOPE THEY STAY TRUE...GREED CHANGES YOU... & IT'S NEVER FOR THE BETTER. THEIR CONTENT IS GENUINE AND NOT FORCED...ORGANIC IF I MAY SAY. On any other boat it is a leak, on Rediviva it is the coolant doing a disappearing act and soon it sets me dreaming of warm blue seas. Garret, never let this precious woman go.

We're I not 75yo and in a wheelchair Red would be my kind of boat. I love how she oozes loads of charm and character + her great stability in rough seas and certain points of sail such as running before which is notorious for rolling the guts out of a boat. Happy sailing! 😅

We use leftover rice to do the same thing for breakfast! If you ever have leftover mashed potatoes, make them into potato patties in the skillet and fry them; potato cakes! Every time you guys cook we get a hunger pain, whether or not we've just ate. Thanks for sharing your adventures and bringing us along! You are very blessed to see the sites that you see, especially the pod of dolphins! Stay safe and fair winds and following seas!

That pod of dolphins was beautiful. How great the lead dolphin decided to let everyone check out Salt & Tar for a while. Watching them play was so much fun. Then the lead decided that was enough fun and it was time to continue, but the last few stragglers just had to do a few more jumps before the fun was finally over.

Hello sailors, I noticed in a previous video that your engine is running hot…220…this is just a thought because I am totally guessing…. Maybe you are burning oil and boiling antifreeze.. you might not have a leak…if you are running water in your heat exchanger the engine will boil the water off at low temperature…say 205- and up….evaporation might be a more accurate word for lower temperature….and oil will break down at higher temperatures and be pushed out the exhaust…..in my opinion I would do a solid flush of your heat exchanger and get a lower temperature thermometer…..in the tropics you also need to run heavier oil than in the north…so burning oil in hot places is not that concerning….

I am so green with envy after seeing that huge pod. This is what I expect EVERY time I fish my local lake. Waiting for a marlin or big eye tuna and the anticipation that comes with that, admittedly daft, idea. More than that I envy too, your passion for what you do and how you're doing it. Does the engine have zincs? My Yanmar does not. I had to replace the heat exchanger last year. I had ignored it for 16 yrs and it rotted out. 😢. Galvanic corrosion. Hate that sh-t. Love watching you guys live the dream.

It must be a challenge balancing programming and lifestyle. Bouncing around the Sea of Cortez for years doesn’t make for the most interesting content, but I can’t imagine rushing from one exciting locale to another would be a great way to live.

Hello sailors, I know you have been having engine problems. I noticed your engine gauges in a prior video and it looked like your engine was running hot. If that is the case you would be boiling off your antifreeze and burning oil… so wondering where a leak is when you are boiling fluid and burning oil could drive you nuts. Let me know your heat exchanger might need a good flush

The dolphins are amazing playful creatures. Ha! Nudity check. The ability to just sit and day dream or watch the world just go by must be amazing. I will tell you something about the sun protectorate creams. Find something without chemicals. I discovered back in my 20's that the spf anything creams were BURNING my skin worse than the sun. So I have gone without and cover myself when out in the hot sun. I've worn large hats and beards, and my friends say I look like 50 in my 70's. Just be very careful of the chemicals in things to put on your body. The cancer comes from this and many of the processed foods. P.S. Smoking cigarettes gives the leather skin worse than the sun.
