Begin the year with a WIP Parade... A new year and already lots of Works In Progress, also some great FINISHES ! Check out my long time WIP, Ann Grimshaw and more. And oh yes, my ambitious plans for 2024.
So much fun seeing all these beautiful stitches. Hopefully we xan stitch to at least 90s. We are frozen in Missouri...sniw, wind, ice and subzero temperatures.. aren't you happy to miss this! Retirement means you do not gave to slide to work! I am staying inside and stitching!
No I don’t miss the driving and sliding or the subzero. But we get a little cold too. It’s supposed to hit freezing tonight which is very cold for Florida!!
I love seeing all of your WIPs! Thanks for sharing. It’s so funny the way we all approach things so differently, too. I could never stitch a border, especially one that is basically just a wonky line, before stitching anything else. I’m definitely a “border as I go” stitcher.
You can never have enough projects going at one time. 😂 variety is the spice of life. Beautiful finishes and wips. You are pretty far along on the ones you want to finish this year. Uffindell sister samplers is on my list to start, also. I don't own any other HATS patterns, and don't plan to buy any, so it will be fun to stitch them. Should I go wild and do both at the same time? Lordy! I look forward to your next update. I hope both you and hubby are well or getting well. So much crud going around this Winter. ❤❤
Such a treat to see you! 😊 I so enjoy your channel 🎶🐦🍃🪻💜 and really look forward to your new episodes. Congratulations on your finishes! Be healthy. Blessings ✨️
Great WIP parade Carol! You have some great choices! We are in the frigid temps here with over 2 ft. Of snow. I can’t wait to get to AZ for a few weeks. Love watching you as I do miss you. Take care of yourself and stitch away! I have been stitching quite a bit due to weather! Yay as that’s a good thing about bad roads! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks my friend!!! I’m sure Arizona will feel like summer compared to Iowa! I hope you and Tanya have a sweet time stitching and just being together!!! Stay safe! Miss you too!!!❤️
It is always fun to see your WIP parade, and your finishes are so gorgeous!! I have been really sick with RSV so I hope that the two of you do not get it. It is really nasty, especially if you get the wheezing, so scary. Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful projects. Happy stitching and blessings to you both.
Ok, I’m having the hardest time with RU-vid. They took away my ability to comment the way I use to and I’m not getting my notifications on my tablet. So accidentally I found this way I think. Carol , love your work and thankyou for sharing all the beautiful pieces you are working on. I think I told you before that my dad would say “I like talking to a good listener and listening to a good talker.” He’d talk to himself. I’m married to a man that doesn’t talk much and my youngest daughter says she does talk much either. One day one of them asked me if I talk if no one is home to hear me. I stopped and thought a second and then said of course I do! After all I believe what my dad always said. Now I catch myself doing it all time. Maybe they should talk more! Well my husband as youngest daughter is married and off with her family! Look forward to each of your flosstubes. You are an inspiration.
I agree with you 100%. I do the border first. And I count several times for this. It's a whole lot easier when you add the insides of the design. I enjoyed today's visit. Thanks for sharing your lovely work.
Ann G. turned out fabulous! Loved your parade. You look like you have about an acre of stitching to do! My goodness you showed some huge samplers! You are a brave woman!
Hi Carol! Love your finishes - someday I am going to stitch Ann Grimshaw! Keep on stitching and you will get them all done eventually! Happy stitching til next time! 😁🪡🧵🪡✂️✂️✂️💕💕💕
I appreciate your WIP parades because you note the time begun so it's clear how long a piece takes to completion. Of course different stitchers work at different rates but still it's a nice guide in general. I like how you divide up your weekly stitching time. I'm going to copy your Saturday Smalls; I have so many cute little pieces begging to get done but I always push them aside in pursuit of whatever large project I'm on. I may also copy your His Eye Is On the Sparrow Sunday; I have that chart so I'll kit it up. Thanks for your commentary on using a journal. I recently bought a cheap hardcover ($10 at Walgreens!) with 240 pages and now I have an idea how to get it started.
I loved your WIP parade. I am pretty much a monogamous stitcher. Maybe 2 at the most. I also stitch in hand. I have tried hoops and Q snaps, and I find them too bulky. Congrats to your granddaughter. I hope Mr. Saltbox feels better.
Re-watching today while ironing and cutting for the #tinyninepatchchallenge , I love your videos and all your stitching. You inspire me so much! I bought Gathering the Greens after the first time I watched this and I still want to get Ann Grimshaw and Jane Atkins. My husband always asks what Mr Saltbox is up too when he hears your voice. 💖
Always love seeing what you are working on. I feel more confident about trying larger designs when I see how ambitious you are...there's hope I tell myself! XO
I love a Parade!! What a beautiful finish of Ann Grimshaw...hope to purchase my silk & get it started before the end of January. Your last video inspired me to pull out my kitted "Gathering of the Greens" I started it on New Year's Day and finished it this week. I love that chart but all those berries in the border were a true test of my patience!! I saw so many in your WIP parade that I want to stitch, you are the best enabler and I love spending time with you!!! I hope Professor Saltbox is feeling better. He does a wonderful job as your Editor & Publisher. See you next time! xoxoxo
Aww thanks so much. I get enabled by so many stitchers too!! Especially if I have it kitted. I hope to get back to Gathering the Greens. Maybe Christmas in July. It was 80 degrees here yesterday so I’m ready to stitch spring.
Hi carol, wishing you and your family a happy new year and of course wonderful to see your whip parade loves seeing all of the samplers. They’re just so beautiful happy stitching. Cheers.
Your Ann Grimshaw is stunning! I’ll never be tired of hearing about it or looking at it. I have this pattern on my wish list at 124stitch. Need to take the plunge!
Beautiful Parade!!! Loved every minute! I think the Needle & Flax linen that has some greet to it is Alcott which I like very much! I hope Mr. Saltbox feels better soon and that you do not catch it!!!😷
So excited to see your Ann Grimshaw finish. Truly stunning. I have the pattern I just haven’t started yet. After looking at the hand-drawn squares, I set it aside. Ha ha. Loved the entire parade you shared. Thank you.
Happy to see your video! Prayers for Mr. Saltbox to feel better. Hoping you avoid "the bug" Carol. I also stitch in hand. It's what I enjoy. I have found that 36 count is my "sweet spot". Have thought about 40 count but I seriously don't think I would be able to see it well.
Love all your charts you are currently working on but Ann Sandles spoke to me for some reason. Had to pause and order it. I seem to be on a Brenda Gervais path in the past few months so can’t hurt to add another. I like that a lot of her called for threads seem to follow a lot of charts. Happy Stitching and continuing good health to you and Mr Saltbox, hope he feels better. 🙏🪡🧵🥰⛄️
Happy New Year Carol ❤ your flosstubes always do my heart good, you need to keep going with the WIP parade until you get to Ann Rayner, I finally managed to get the chart but I’m a bit intimidated, it’s not an easy chart to read. Hope Mr Saltbox feels better soon, hats off to him for the great parade music. Xx
I love Ann too!!! She’ll be in my WIP parade part 2. And yes the chart is nearly impossible to read which is one of the reasons she is still a WIP but I definitely want to finish her sooner than later!!!
First, thanks for your video, and its good to see you again! I'm one of those who (feels driven?) stitches the border bones first. After everything meets up on the border, you can just relax, or carry on. 😊
❤ true words Brenda. I have stitched from childhood and love how relaxing it is. I watched my Mum fight her Altzhiemers to carry on stitching , when her mind could not understand stitching ...she knitted her last few years. She never understood who we were sometimes but her hands knew how to knit. Keep stitching ladies ... ❤
Another inspiring video. Congratulations to your granddaughter and her dance company. I hope that tickle in your throat goes away and that Mr. Saltbox feels better soon. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful finishes and amazing WIPs. I find your videos fun to watch and especially love the interactions between you and your husband😊 I couldn’t find the new flosstuber you mentioned. It sounded like Solid Stitches to me but my hearing is going 😂. Perhaps you can mention it again on your next video. TIA🙋🏽♀️Never Mind I found the transcript and Sully Stitches by Tara Sullivan. I will watch her video next. Have a blessed week.
I was SO happy to see your video on que today! I've been stitching on His Eye Is On The Sparrow for ages. I am a monogamous, s-l-o-w stitcher. I love seeing your WIPS and progress. ❤
Carol, wow🤩 phenomenal WIP’s never too many ….so great seeing what you finished for your January stitch just beautiful! Thank you for taking time to put this together & to Mr. Saltbox for editing, etc… so appreciated, inspiring..congrats on your granddaughter’s dancing 💃 my niece did that from that same age throughout high school so fun! hope your not getting ill and that hubby feels much better soon, take good care, looking forward to seeing your progress…hugs from MN🤗♥️
I would never get sick of seeing Ann Grimshaw. She's in my stash and I aspire to stitch her before too long. I always love seeing all of your stitching, Carol. You have inspired many of my more ambitious chart purchases!😂❤ As always, it was great to see you.
Thanks for another fabulous Flosstube.😊 Congrats to Camille and her fellow dancers. She is precious! I hope Mr. Saltbox feels better soon. A cold can really drag you down. I always crack windows in the house if anyone is sick to let out those germs. I love seeing all of your WIPS and kudos on your Anne Grimshaw finish!❤
Another awesome video … love your Whips… I’m stitching a gorgeous sampler GH1857 with muted colors and a pretty blue roof! It doesn't matter how many whips we have … we are happy! Yay!
Yessss… the smalls are precious… however… for the chart … you need a magnifier from NASA… what you think is a club shape symbol .. turned out to be a diamond shape 😱… teeny teeny printed symbols!
Happy New Year Carol! I really enjoyed seeing your WIPs! They are all so beautiful and I would not worry about the number you have-as long as it doesn’t bother you who cares! I am sorry that Professor Saltbox isn’t feeling well, and I hope he is better soon! Just dot catch it from him! I went and got my RSV vaccine this morning.
Another great video! I always love seeing your work! I have just kitted the Teresa Kogut Dwelling Place too, hopeful to start it soon too! Looking forward to part 2!🎉
So beautiful, thanks for showing all of your amazing stitching, finishes, and WIPS. Congratulations to your granddaughter on her dancing achievements. Hope you are not getting sick and that your husband feels better soon. Janine
Such a beautiful stitcher you are! I am new to cross stitch and doing alot of smalls right now with hopes by end of year to be able to start a large design to hang on my wall. Don't know how you have time to do all those large ones. you must be a very fast stitcher. Thanks for showing your WIPs.
Thank-you for sharing your Parade of beautiful framed designs. your husband is so sweet to get you coffee, love the cup. Congratulation to your granddaughter. Thank-your son in law for his service my husband was in the Navy during Vietnam. Congratulation on finishing Ann Grimshaw, I am looking forward to seeing it framed, I hope your husband starts feeling better soon. Congratulations on your finishes and progress on all your stitching. Thank-you for sharing your WIP Parade.
Heard you said you were in Jacksonville, Fl - hello neighbor - I'm just north of Tallahassee in Bainbridge, GA. Really enjoyed your videoo - your work is beautiful.
