I’m really hoping it’s some sort of blend of psychological thriller and mystery. They seem to really put the lost teen kinda theme in your face and I honestly like it. It’s obvious all these characters are broken in a way. Maybe someone might get killed or it’s just an intense thriller about the mc trying to be like the other kids

Saw this at the BFI London film festival yesterday and it was amazing. For people wanting an idea of what genre it is without any spoilers, it’s a thriller comedy drama, with more comedy in the first half and darker disturbing elements in the second half.

Not to mention, Patience/Patsy Mount. She left Call the Midwife to become show runner/writer for Killing Eve, for which she deservedly earned 2 primetime Emmy award nominations. I was sad to see her and Delia Busby's (Kate Lamb) storyline end the way it did, but got much more in Fennell's career progression.

It’s a very good film but the acting particularly from Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t deserve near an Oscar and Ke Huy Quan shouldn’t have won over Keoghan nor should Brendan Fraser have won over Paul Mescal especially because the Whale was a terrible film

This is my favorite film since Parasite and needs to be seen front row in a theater (but def not with your parents 😂) it raises the bar endlessly, is mesmerizing and stylish and i simply cannot stop thinking about it. The acting, screenplay, score and cinematography is better than 99% of films. it is unapologetically deranged, twisted, bold, shocking, hilarious and an absolute masterpiece. 10/10. Fennell moves up the ranks with directors such as aster and chazelle and is unafraid to go big and insanely over the top… audiences with an open mind will be rewarded. Only a handful of times (everything, everywhere, beau is afraid, nope) have i left a theater as awestruck and emotionally charged as i did leaving this one

We'll see. I was all for the Barbenheiner and wasted my money. Was hoping for "The Imitation Game" -excellent script. And Barbie, Margot Robie was INCREDIBLE in "I, Tonya," so she CAN ACT, they just went pushy/and messagy in the worst way, tho. I would have loved more cute silliness, like Toy Story Barbie and Robie trying to stand flat footed. I dislike Traitor Ken in both movies, btw. I REALLY HATED him trying to pull adverse possession in "Barbie." Btw, you can't "have bought all the pink paint." That's a lie. There's 12 colors that maje the tints. It doesn't change. Only the BASE that the color does (it's why Dutch Boy is a horrendously BAD paint and extremely hard to work with...and Marquee is much easier and cooperative in covering) So. You can match anything and put it in any paint. Custom made. Pink isn't just pink: the label tells you the codes and what undertones there are. You CAN have two pinks that clash. Don't even start me on the extensive science of matching blacks and whites...black isn't black and white isn't white. "None more black" actually exists.

I have seen Barry in Banshees of Inisherin, and he is a powerhouse of acting. I hope this film harnesses his potential well enough. It gives the vibes of Call Me By Your Name, but then, it also doesn't. So, possibly, more romantically complex than a complex storyline. When I read the premise on the LFF page, this trailer is far from what I was expecting. I thought it would be along the lines of drama, a calm romance perhaps, but not a twisted thriller/horror. It looks amazing.

Saltburn is an absolute must-watch. But, I recently saw Ozon's movie 'Summer of 85'. Saltburn has been heavily influenced by 'Summer of 85' (e.g. the character and looks of Felix, grave-yard scene, utopian family of Felix, including mum's positivity).

Saw this at SCAD film festival, honestly one of the best, most uncomfortable, and most disturbing films I watched. I felt gross after, which was great. Theater was squealing and squirming, great film!

As a SCAD graduate from a decade plus ago (who tried to convince the film department to include Lars von Trier movies in the festival to no avail), I can only imagine what the reactions were watching the movie there were like.
