@nate-it9xq Also doesn't scratch the surface. I saw the movie at its Beyond Fest premiere and I am still astounded by what Fennell was able to do in a mainstream movie and how Barry Keoghan pulls it all off with such a sly smile the whole way through.
The trailer somehow has me convinced the family baited an innocent person into their world of horror and the family also unknowingly invited a monster into their strange world.
@bbhdd6181 Yes! One of my favorite scenes is where he's walking away from the bar, and he walks through an area lit up in blue light, which then turns to red as he keeps walking. So representative of his feelings and the shift in them.
If you like this kind of cinematography, you may also love Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon". To me, it looks like it has a similar visual style in it's compositions. Although you may have already seen it!
if that is your take about psychological thrill then you have not seen "Ofantasma" infact I have a gut feeling the creators and director of Saltburn got the idea for the main character subliminal personality
@@angeles252 no, I’m sorry, I think there’s a misunderstanding. I’m asking how did you take that statement when it was said to you. You said you knew exactly what it meant when said to you.
@@Angels8Harmonyik you’re not asking me, but as a lower mc person who’s been to private school all my life, I’d say it’s just that we are more likely to be grounded, relatable, less egotistic, snobby, etc. There’s a comfort that can bring when you are around only rich people who can become easily ungrateful/snobby.
From being a nurse in Call The Midwife to being season 2 showrunner and executive producer of Killing Eve to being Camilla Bowles in The Crown Season 3 and 4 to getting a directorial debut in Promising Young Woman that earned her an Oscar win for the script to playing Midge in the recent Barbie movie to making Saltburn, Emerald Fennell is a fascinating artist 🙌
Fun Fact : Saltburn is Rosamund Pike and Carey Mulligan's third collaboration after Pride & Prejudice and An Education. That alone is enough for me to be interested, it's always exciting to see the Bennet sisters reunite in a new project 🙌
@@naika7 I can't believe Carey and Pike had been in front of my eyes for 15 years when I knew their names instantly as they get bigger and better roles. I watched Pride and Prejudice many times but I didn't know who they were. It wasn't until Promising Young Woman is where I recognise Carey
Saw this movie a few days ago. So so happy we finally have a trailer that doesn’t spoil anything in the movie, wish all movie trailers were like this!!! Loved this movie so much
How each character captures the nuanced awkward moments in their voices and body language and make them memorable with the mind blowing trailer soundtrack. The posters are already iconic. Love it all

Oh I mean seriously, who else don't get 'The Secret History' vibes?! A poor, scholar kid drawn towards elegance and beauty but the underexperienced youth keeps him unaware of the fact that a true beauty has it own horror and is quite capable of haunting you for the rest of your life. Oh I'm so very excited to experience this, hopefully, a marvelous artwork.
Don’t know why but this trailer scratches an itch in my brain that I didn’t know I had. The entire vibe and aesthetic of this trailer gives me goosebumps everytime I watch this trailer. I’m up to my 20th watch
Promising Young Woman was one of my favourite movie of 2020 and earned Emerald Fennell a well deserved screenplay Oscar win so i'm definitely excited to see what's her next movie and i think this looks pretty fascinating. Can you believe that the filmmaker behind this movie and PYM is the same person who played Camilla Bowles in The Crown season 3 and 4? That's actually pretty impressive 🤗
If you haven't seen it. I am so glad that we still have good movies being made every now and then. This is definitely one of them. I masterpiece with great actors and fantastic story. Loved it! 👍👍🏆
at 0:50 elspeth turns to felix when she says "you're kind about everyone" and turns to Oliver when she says "you can't be trusted". wonderful foreshadowing!
Don't forget the people who watch the trailer or a short clip and decide they already know what it's about and what happens, and therefore don't need to watch it.
Just came to say this js the best film this year. After countless remakes how refreshing to see a film with an incredible ensemble, acting and amazing storyline
Saltburn was totally robbed by the Oscars. It deserved many nominations. Emerald Fennell is a terrific writer who pushed the boundaries. A great and disturbing film for thinking grownups.
This movie was SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!!! Utterly spellbinding. If you haven't watched it, do so, and do not read anything about it. I watched it cold without even seeing the trailer or knowing what is was about, which was the best way to watch it.
Carey unfortunately is going to have a small role here but hoping it'll be memorable. But for what it's worth, seeing Carey and Rosamund Pike reunite is something i'm desperately looking forward too as a Pride and Prejudice fan myself
you can't tell me that this isn't THE SECRET HISTORY & Brideshead Revisited😩❤. her saying "I HAVE A COMPLET AND UTTER HORROR OF UGLINESS" is basically Richard saying "THAT HE HAS A MORBID LONGING FOR THE PICTURESQUE AT ALL COSTS AND THAT IS HIS FATAL FLAW" WITH THE REST OF THE SECRET HISRTORY'S characters ...TEH CENEMATOGHRPY IS BRILLIANT...THIS IS TRUE CINEMA THAT WE'VE MISSED DEARLY FOR YEARS I HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS
This twised delight is the best film in I don't know how long for me. Ominous and a frightfully accurate peek into upper class British lives. Superb performances from every single character. Each relevant and exceptionally well portrayed. Bravo. 100/10.
I have to admit, I watched this movie because I heard about all the crazy scenes. I never expected to like it. I LOVED it. It's like the "The Talented Mr. Ripley" for a new generation and on speed. This was a gem. Brilliantly acted and so vibrant. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
Barry Keoghan has arrived. I noticed him in the Banshees of Inesherin (hes arguably the best part of that film) the other night and realized that ive really liked him in everything ive seen him in. I cant wait to see Saltburn.
"A Glossy Dynamite bends my mind" ❤ Saltburn feels like a dynamite that is embellished by the sparkling elements. The Cinematography catches the heart in its glitter and flicker. Can't wait to see the stellar performer Barry Keoghan and the charming Jacob Elordi. The cast is captivating. Emerald Fennell has brought a delectable spectacle with so much crazy delights, just excited to watch this.
Why do people think this movie is trying to be deeper than it is? It's not. It's a black comedy and it's hilarious! I really liked it. It was beautiful to look at and the acting was great. Good music too.
Am I crazy or a genius for thinking that, while Oliver was obsessed with the idea of what Felix represented, with weird psychosexual undertones and some kind of bond they developed, Felix actually fell in love with him(or rather, with the version of him that he thought was real)/had a crush on him. The way he was jealous of him, always looking at him with longing, and just acting in a seductive way around him + the scene when he kissed his cheek...
I just finished watching it and it’s a rollercoaster ride of a film. It’s going to get mixed reviews. Can also understand if someone says that it’s batshit crazy
absolutely darkly brilliant movie, could watch a million times and still not be able to appreciate all the subtle detail and incredibly cinematographic work in this film.
Jacb Elordi really impressed me here his acting was superb and all of the performances were equally superb and the movie kept me guessing until the end. I just wish they had left out the last 15 minutes to keep me guessing after the movie was over what really happened.
I’ve watched The 20 seconds of Rosamund Pike and Carey Mulligan ignorantly discussing rehab in Liverpool about 30 times and still burst out laughing . Shows what great actresses they are that such intelligent women can play so utterly clueless and vapid. Carey Mulligan is the embodiment of the lights are on but there’s no one home.😅
Glad to see someone cast Jacob Elordi is something like this. He could carry a show when he's in his 30s-40s (for some reason the magic age range for iconic roles). Hopefully casting will remember him by then.
Jacob Elordi has a charismatic presence. Perfect for this part and a great foil for Oliver. The bath scene and open door makes me wonder whether Felix was unconsciously - or consciously - seducing and enticing Oliver. Felix made everybody fall in love with him without realising how beautiful and appealing he was to both genders. Oliver had to work much harder.
I’m just impressed there is a movie with an intense 2.5 minute trailer and we still don’t know the plot. I’m shocked silly! Who knew people still made trailers like this. Now I actually want to see the movie, as opposed to feeling like I already saw it.
I just got done watching this and came straight to the comments to say that this movie waz EPIC. It was a really great time beginning to end. I've been looking for a decent movie or series to watch for weeks. 10/10 even.just for the end scene alone (had a woman been in that scene instead, it would have been same old, same old) not to mention the rest of the movie which really shows that it's possible to make good films in today's world. I was beginning to lose hope. Barry Keoghan is BOLD! What a great artsy psychological thriller for a change. I meed to find more on this level. This was phenomenal, way to go! Thank you for actually making a worthwhile film that deserves recognition. Highly recommend!
I watched this at a film festival and loved it. Fairly shallow, reads as more of a hate letter to the middle classes than a scathing ‘eat the rich’ thriller (but what can you expect when the writer/director comes from money herself lol). Super funny though, they should be marketing it as a dark comedy, and a total visual feast as seen in this trailer. Really great performances from the main cast.
I see what you mean to a degree, but it's a character study. It's equal-opportunity in depicting people as being both deeply flawed and wonderful at the same time. It can't be reduced to being about one theme.
@@jimf8047 yeah i watched it a second time when it was officially released and I understood it a lotttt more. i think i was initially confused because the marketing and early reviews i was seeing made it seem like it’d be a parasite/knives out sort of “eat the rich” thing and the plot twist really threw me off but that was just my own expectations getting in the way
I keep seeing posts where people thought it was going to be a "fun movie about friendship." Did they only watch the first half of this trailer?? But also, wow, what a movie! Hilariously brilliant! And brilliantly hilarious! And shocking! It's been so long since I've truly been shocked. And Barry K is remarkable!
It was twisted, hilarious and absolutely deranged. I watched it last night on Prime and loved it, you go into it expecting one thing and it is everything but. Lots of underlying themes and subtleties, highly recommended. Oh and the soundtrack is spectacular!
I'll never understand why so many people want to watch this type of movie, especially in today's world. How are you not so disgusted with what is happening in our actual world that you can sit and watch a movie that was made from these exact ideas?
Celkově trailer k "Saltburn" slibuje silný, napínavý thriller, který zaujme svou atmosférou, výkony a promyšleným příběhem. Je to film, na který se rozhodně vyplatí těšit
Feel like I went back 20 years when movies were good. Trailer made it seem like it was going to be this rich narcissist toying with someone, but he was the most level headed one. So good though.
This is my favorite film since Parasite and needs to be seen front row in a theater (but def not with your parents 😂) it raises the bar endlessly, is mesmerizing and stylish and i simply cannot stop thinking about it. The acting, screenplay, and cinematography is better than 99% of films it is unapologetically deranged, twisted, bold, shocking, hilarious and a an absolute masterpiece. 10/10. Fennel moves up the ranks with directors such as aster and chazelle and is unafraid to go big and insanely over the top..,,audiences with an open mind will be rewarded
I just finished watching this movie, and I kid you not, I believe it's a cinemtatic masterpiece, one of the best movies I've ever watched and everybody needs to watch it....I don't know what that says about me though 😂
