I even use salted butter in buttercream because it evens the taste and gives the buttery flavor.

I was using unsalted butter religiously before. Then one day they had some salted butter marked down and I decided to give it a try. I have not gone back to unsalted butter since. And I don't end up with "salty" tasting pastries. I do like having a slightly salty taste in my tart shells though. I understand being cautious about there being different ratios though. I suggest looking at the back of the package to be sure.

Or you could use unsalted and salt it yourself so you can control the amount of salt. I respect your opinion though.

Hi, Ivy! Have you seen my butter vs. shortening video yet? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-10yOnbtMl_o.html Oil is totally different since it's a liquid at room temperature, so substituting will depend on the recipe you're using!

Use unsalted butter OR just taste what you're cooking and adjust as you go? Like others in the comments, i've never had a problem baking with salted butter, if you buy the same brand you'll learn to adjust,

Honestly I've never had a problem with salted butter. I've tried to make my parents buy unsalted but they don't like it so when I bake with salted I use this, 1/2 tsp. salt + unsalted butter = salted butter + a pinch of salt. My parents get the same brand and this works perfect.

9 times outta 10 salted butter is fine to use, it's not gonna be spooled, to fkng old or to salty either, just look how much salt for portion the butter has on the package and adjust, plus a little bit more salt that what it calls on the recipe always tastes better imo, I'll stick with salted butter 🧈 tastes better anyways and the risk it's to low for me to go use unsalted plain butter

Hi, I bought a kitchenaid mixer 6qt bowl professional series 600 and it could not beat 2 egg whites. Is it because the bowl 6qt is too big? Should I get a smaller capacity mixer, if yes please let me know which one. I called kitchenaid assistance and service is so bad. They said it sould be able to do it. Alos this mixer cannot mix a box of cake flour bought in grocerie 340g cannot do it, 540g cannot do it either. After almost 25 min, the mixture is still not even. Instruction says beat for 2 min. And my cheap hand mixer black decker 30$ could do it properly in a few minutes. Also asked them they said it should be able. For a mixer of 862$ it is awful that they cannot tell me for sure it can or cannot. I don't even know if I got a defect one ! All they can tell is : It should but they are not 100% sure. There is no service at all ! I think their product are overprice. Someone help please. I am from Canada I am not sure if I should go for another brand but here in Quebec we do not have a lot of choice.

+Ongles Sexy How frustrating! That is quite a large mixer for most households. That's why I love my 5qt mixer. For smaller amounts of ingredients (like 2 egg whites) I'll usually use my handheld mixer. Good luck!
@onglessexy4998
@onglessexy4998 8 лет назад
But for recipe that the egg need to be stiff peak and add like cream of tatar while beating I find hard to do that with a hand mixer. So I was wondering if your 5qt can bead the 2 egg white? and your 5qt is an kitchenaid artisan mixer right?
