Absolutely stunning living on the Cornish coast feeling the Atlantic serge is awe-inspiring she’s deadly and powerful but the rocks are so addictive tight lines stay safe
amazing casts there Peter, not easy send a fly (with hook still attached lol) surrounded by rocks 40 feet above the water!!! great skill and great video
Hi Derek, Casting long in one thing, casting accurately is another. My short game is a much neglected ;)) I do not know what it is but I absolutely love to see fish move from a great distance. Visual fishing is so much fun for me. I wish you a great season ATB.
+Tossdart It doesn't really matter if it's a little rough, there's nearly always shelter around the next corner. Even on the calmest of days you have to be vigilant by standing on the right rock, never taking your eye off the incoming waves and have a quick exit pre-mapped. I know in the video it might appear a little hairy, but even that big waves energy was directed to the right of the screen. A friend and I observed the spectacle/display from a great height on a terraced shelf for over a half an hour ;)) ATB.
Very nice. Dramatic scenery. You have to be very careful it looks like that wave at 2 minutes could take you right over and with the cliffs the way they are who knows where you might be able to get back. Natures power. Nice to see you out there its been too long. All the best!
+Chris Walklet Thank you Chris. It is indeed very dramatic and the endless joy of fishing it is inspiring. The wave astounding as it might sound literally fell before reaching me. I was never in any real danger as I was 75'ft up and 50'ft back up on a terraced face. The water ran off the lower shelves. Mind you the backs of my legs did get sprayed in the vapour ;)) I wish you well, tightlines.
+simon o neill Thank you Simon, I've caught more fish with a fly rod than any other form of fishing. If anglers knew how easy it was they would all be at it ;)) For anyone who might be reading this buy a clouser fly (olive and white with weighted eyes) for your rod dangle it over the side of a cliff, then jig it and see what happens. I'm actually working on a series of information videos at the moment that I hope to have up shortly. ATB.
I love your vids Mate. You are hardcore. What time of the year is this and what did you target. You have a lot of beautiful coastline there. Stay Safe. Top Man. ATB Reeco
+Reeco Rees Thanks Reeco! Most of the season, the newest clip was taken in late October. Whatever swims is a potential target ;) Pollock are without a doubt one of my favourites. I've even added a new species to my list, squid. On the surface in broad daylight. I'm very fortunate to live and breathe in a place of such beauty ;)) Good wishes to you in 2016.
Top Man. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the Family. I live about 45 minutes from the Gower so next year, I am going to get my butt down and wet a line. ATB Reeco
+Vincent Donnelly Hi Vincent, I love to comb the coast for action were ever I might find it. Fishing from the rocks is simply amazing, perched up high, and a commanding view. Watching a fish swim up to a fly is one of the greatest sights. Thank you for the thumb's up^. I wish you a great season! ATB.
I love your videos! I was on the Dingle peninsula at the start of summer, and although the fishing wasn't the best I still had the time of my life. Might see you about next year!
+Daniel Wright Thank you Daniel! Good for you. Some of my most memorable days evolved no fish. It's the journey with friends that count. I will keep an eye out for you, tightlines.
Some locations on the west coast are so surreal it's as if you're on a movie set. Ireland is a pretty cool place I love it's diversity. So I'm happy to fly fish anywhere. I wish you well.
+pkg2922 This is just a glimpse into a powerful place where the energies from Atlantic ocean currents and winds converge to carve many of the structures featured in this video. Co. Clare's raw beauty and jagged stare commands a sense of self. Even though many of these locations produced memorable fish, I believe that they proved surplus to requirement. For me it's more about the journey, the people I've meet, the obstacles I've over come that I find most rewarding. Thank you for asking the question pkg, I wish you well for 2016!
