Why did you chose plywood for the stringers? You don't need strength in the vertical direction, and a plain wood beam would be stronger in the long beam-wise direction. Or, if the wood is just a form for the fiberglass and doesn't provide any strength, then in B.C., you probably could have still located some old-growth Western Red Cedar and had wood that was much more rot resistant than the plywood.

hey thanks for the comment, the marine ply is just to fibreglass over it, the fibreglass will make it structural and yes you are right we could have went with some dimensional kiln dried red cedar . My material of choice would have been carbon core foam as its easy and quick to work with., but as we stated in the video we were unable to source it during the pandemic. we will get into the making of the stringers in the next episode, so stay tuned for more info
