I love how Sam once made a joke (I dont recall when, but I think it was during the guest-character battle royal) about making a warlock who’s patron was advertising/sponsors, and low and fucking behold the man finds a way to not only do so but make it canon.
@@Raichulula And the momenty he has you enthralled and emotionally invested he will pull the rug out under you with a shill advertisment. He's the fucking best.
@@gabegrether8647 I'm not taunting the DM. I'm just asking the DM to have a sense of humor about himself. DM: Rocks fall. Everyone dies. ...Apparently that was too much to ask.
Loquatius is totally going to be reading actual sponsorships for the stream, at some point, surely? The vibes in his News Report completely match Sam’s usual & amazingly unique Sponsorship Scripts & vibes- for sure! I could totally see them starting every stream with his News Reports & having the actual Sponsorships showing up in game. I might be a bit late to eXu- but I still hope.!
I love Aabria's reactions and expressions, knowing that they had already set up Sam's character as her ex, but this was probably the first time she was seeing the character in his broadcast mode.
3:45 That look from Luis when Loquatius mentioned the spell glue that sticks to what it's told to was hilarious. That was a legitimate "I want that to be real."
@@queenblacc4579 Yeah, I'd honestly love to see Sam in a full Dimension 20 campaign. These EXU's are kind of a halfway house which is great, some of my favourite campaigns. I'd just love to see Sam fully off the leash with some of D20's absolute high chaos.
Instantly in love with the character, I am fascinated with Loquatius and the presentation. Damn, he just might be Sam’s most instantly captivating character
My young cousin's a huge Critfan (Critter?), and for a pirates oneshot in my setting he made a changeling. None of the players found out he was a changeling woman until his character went unconscious in the oneshot's boss-fight. In the sequel, his changeling designed the saltwater potions that broke the pirates out of their fountain-induced brainwashings. The kid is Sam Reigel personified, even when he's too busy to talk during a game. Chaos.
I think it's more based on Stanley Tucci's character in The Hunger Games (I forget the name), partly because he also often uses the "Bob Barker" microphone, but particularly because of the purple hair and "golden" skin
I need a Wand of Thaumaturgy for every bard from here on out. Perfect magic item is perfect. It just amplifies your voice for a minute and recasts automatically as long as the button is still pressed.
Let's be real for a second sam is amazing! And his character's are always fun and kind of the comedic relief with a darkside and these types of character's are my favorite! And i notice some people have expressed that sam should just stick to being the funny guy ! But i'm love to see him play a serious character! He's a talented actor and I honestly think seeing him get serious would be interesting!
@@devinspencer1678 ye I know that but that doesn't change the point. I didn't say that I dislike FCG, it's just that certain character have a better harmony with certain players.
If this gets animated (and I pray to god it does) I hope this scene is done during establishing shots of Avalir and that it is a total fakeout where it seems to be following a random npc through the city before revealing the news reporter in the background is the character we’re following
Look they are all talented, but can you imagine having to follow that planned execution...jeez. Sam likes the through the gauntlet, Travis likes to push the Button.
Glorious. They all topped everything else that I’d seen them in. D&D taken to the next level, storytelling at its fastest, sharpest and its finest. Still blows me away.
This is Sam's best character, full stop. Uses his natural charisma and mastery of bard spells, but instead of being annoying and horny like Scanlan, he's a masterful deceiver who also loves very deeply.
Sam is the only reason I cannot listen to critical role while training. Whenever he speaks I just gotta physically watch it. How is he not an actor in films? Even though same can be said about a lot of the others like Laura.
Would love to see apex created by Fortiche Studios. The art style is somewhat close to Arcane as it is. Not sure it will happen since I'm sure Fortiche is probably neck deep in Arcane season 2 but still would be awesome.
not exactly, it takes place before the Calamity before the Divine Gate even existed, so WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY before Campaign 1 or any Critical Role campaign. it's basically a prequel
It’s just a different version of Scanlan. Less involved with music and more of the salesman and still a f boy except now he’s bad at it and is divorced. Different characters with all the same alignment, attitude, and mannerisms. Now let’s see who removes this comment this time
it is a bard, he is partially a bard. This is like what most bards are like even in homegames. Sam however clearly can be more than just a bard as he has shown with nott/ veth and FCG.
There are def similar themes as they're both bards, but imo I'd hardly say it's a different version of Scanlan. Also what's with the weird energy you're bringing 😆 you came into the comments with a very sedate opinion, no need to be so defensive lol
@@GiantDivineMoth the similarity is mostly in how popular, social and charismatic they seem. But like that is logical because bards just have/ need a high charisma score. It is like saying two wizards have the same feel because they are both so intelligent/ knowledgeadble. While you can play the classes in a way that is not stereotypical and make for example a very shy and anxious bard, most of the times you end up with at least a little stereotypical of a character. This person has a right to an opinion and may believe they are the same character, they are just so defensive about it which makes me want to react to it lol.
@@jessie-ht7bc I play a heavy metal bard that’s not interested in women and is not a salesman, just wants to list to some headbangers while killing demons and dragons. I also have a misandrist vampire bard that try’s her best to manipulate her way to the top and to live her best succubus. Bards can be played differently
@@GiantDivineMoth I’m only defensive, because ik how this fanbase is. You try to call out one of the these players for poor decision making or poor memory or stereotyping or character concepts that simply not fun to watch. You usually get called all the isms and ists you can think of.
