Zac is still the GOAT in my heart for hearing the prompt and moving _immediately._ He may have lost in commitment, but never let it be said he lost in initiative.
"Hey Brennan here, at what they are calling the 'Mars Colony' but a colony requires permanent settlers, as I am here temporarily this is actually the "Mars Outpost".
@@MC-yt1uv "Yeah, so when that probe took those incredible photos of Pluto a few years ago I thought that's a great place for a vacation home, so I'm just on my way out there to see what it looks like, get a feel for the place you know? Thanks for the thirty points man, I'll see you in a few decades."
It was confusing bc they had footage of them leaving the car, so you'd think that a cameraman followed them. But then Sam says "We have no way of confirming where they are". They deliberately crafted the Uber narrative
Would have loved if they played this in the episode but after the credits (like in this video), because I do love the strange empty vibe the original episode’s ending gets but also this is great
Zac immediately running, nay, SPRINTING down the street with no plans on where to go without any hesitation will forever be the most hilarious response to me akdkfkakdjs
@@Peytoneileenin the actual episode, we see that first part where everyone ran and thats it. Ally went to the airport, and the presumption is they did it alone. And damn it, Ally friggin' won a stiff compition in going the the other side of the country. In the cut for time episode, we see the truth. Zac and Jacob were Ally's ride to the airport, making the stiff competition not all that stiff actually, it was just a time to hang out, lol.
It’s shot in a typical game show way where it seems to show serial escalation of 3 different responses to the prompt ‘go’. Zac just goes (runs out of the studio), Jacob goes home, and Ally calls an Uber to the airport, winning the episode. But in an actual fact they weren’t in competition, Jacob and Zac and Ally were just hanging out, helping Ally with their bit. They didn’t run off into 3 different directions, they were together the whole time. And that’s beautiful.
@@13strong That was my first thought, my American geography isn't the best but I was like "aren't they in Cali? Surely There's better places than Alaska to 'go' to"
It's actually almost exactly the same distance by plane to Anchorage or New York from LA. Alaska is 1/3 the size of the entire US and vertically you're also traveling about half the height of Canada. 2370 something miles to AK vs 2445 to NY. Source: flight travel logs, also I am from Alaska and lived in LA for 8 years
I like how the end clip implies that Zac had to drive away to get the shot and then come back so the camera person can get back in. Despite the airport traffic. And we all know Zac got compensated on gas
Menacing? I got benevolent. Like a Gandalf type telling you something where although it’s obvious that they have more information than they are telling you, from the kind-but-mysterious tone they aren’t being antagonistic so must think they have a good reason to not elaborate & you just have to choose to trust them based on that alone So the opposite of menacing
tbh even tho LAX is big, if you don’t need to check a bag (and even if you do need to) you get thru security FAST. they got a goddamn system and stick to it.
@@Warmachine_23Burbank airport is even faster the fastest I've gone from door to gate was four minutes I timed it. Half the time the security line is less than 5 people and they've got the fast machines where you don't need to take anything off or out of bags.
Truly tho, I think Zac is the cast member I would most expect to volunteer to drive a friend to the airport even before saw thjis episode. He is a sweet guy in a pool of sweeties.
I can't believe this was cut. It does explain who was driving in allys cut as i just assumed it was an uber. But learning it was zac ands jacob is crazy
I love Jacob so much. He's just so west coast. On hearing that Zac is going to be driving, he's just like, "Should I cruise?" And upon getting into the car at the same time as Ally, just asked, "Did you shotty?" So fucking west coast. I love it.
@@aidenkt "Should I cruise?" is equivalent to "Should I drive and meet up with you there?" It's just a shorter version of asking if there's room for another person, because they've got nothing better to do and have the time and desire to hang.
For additional lingo: "Did you shotty?" is a short-form way of asking "Did you call 'shotgun'?" In other words, "Did you already call the passenger seat of the vehicle we'll be traveling in?" I'm not particularly certain as to the history (or "Herstory", in regards to Zac) of calling the passenger seat of a vehicle the "shotgun", but where I grew up, you would call "shotgun" when you were traveling from a building to the vehicle as a group if you wanted to be the chief navigator / deejay / morale supervisor of the expedition or journey (i.e. the up-front passenger and all the roles associated with being the driver's second). Whomever managed to call "shotgun" first was given the role; if you did not call "shotty", you did not ride "shotty". The rule was simple, but it WAS followed and enforced. I have seen grown men physically fight one another over the role for a single outing to the local gas station for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. Obviously, some are more serious about it than others. This is why it is important to know your traveling companions well, and all the more reason why I love Jacob and his connection to Zac and Ally in this episode.
@@MasterAndreRaveni dont know that "shotty" is established slang i assume it's just something Jacob said to be funny but i don't live in california so i suppose i don't know for sure
@@rachelrachel9152 It's fairly-well established, I'd say. I grew up in Washington (a bit further north of California, for folks who might have missed a little US geography), and it was common to hear both "shotty" and "shotgun" there.
@@pedroscoponi4905 "they all received the same prompt: go." is such a poetic statement. We are all born to "go" and we all interpret that prompt in different ways as we go about our day to day lives. To "go" is to live and to live is to "go".
Shout out to the camera guy for sticking with them and riding in the seat backwards and getting enough cool shots to edit it together all while staying out of the shot. That seemed like it took some serious skill
ive convinced myself the s6 finale is gonna be taskmaster-themed, as sam said it's a 2-episode shoot, all outide of the studio, with more crew and cameras than ever before. On top of that, he's recently mentioned Alex Horne/Taskmaster a couple of times, and he JUST posted a picture with him on instagram with the caption "All the information is on the task."
I live in Burbank so seeing Ally at the Burbank airport is always so funny, like I know they live near me but it really drives it home. But this is even better because I know EXACTLY where that In N Out is and I’ve eaten there many times lmaooo and it is actually just always that crowded. I feel bad for the people who work there I’ve never seen it not be busy
@@mayhapsashark2549 true. this one usually has a drive thru line going out into the street, and im gonna be honest, i dont really get the hype. maybe its bc i didnt grow up in california, but in n out is just kinda mid imo
I'm sad this wasn't the actual episode. Like we should've just seen them all run out, Sam standing around awkwardly for a bit, then calling Ally, then we're with the cast the rest of the way
The fact that all those people in the background are now able to claim their flights as a business expense and bill their plane tickets directly to Sam truly is a game changer.
the world needs to see this - middle america needs to see this - the best improv group ever of all time because they do the craziest shiz imaginable - THEY ARE NOT BOXED BY A STAGE HAHAHA
