How much obedience is necessary to keep the wrath of God from abiding on anyone? One act of obedience is all that's necessary. It's he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
That is the issue with folks like Shamoun(it seems), that how many works is needed to prove you will be saved. According to the law of God if you sin once you are under His condemnation to hellfire. Either saved by faith alone, by grace alone, in Christ alone, for God's glory alone, apart from our works, or then hellfire.
_How much obedience is necessary to keep the wrath of God from abiding on anyone?_ You're asking the wrong question, we should be asking: "Dear Lord, please give me all the strength I need to fulfill Your will for my life."
@@Jason-Austinso presuming you’ve asked Jesus for the strength to obey sufficiently. Do you have any assurance that you have obeyed enough? The Bible is very clear Galations 2 16 : “ knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH of Jesus Christ, even we have BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the FAITH of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the law shall no flesh be justified.”
you are right that we aren't justified by the works of the law. The law shows us that we can not be justified by it unless it is completely and perfectly followed. No one but Jesus has or ever will attain that completion of the law. But by our belief we are spurred into action so that by our works our faith is made known (faith preexists works). Real faith is a living faith which produces fruit within the believer. So works do not save, absolutely correct, but justifying faith will be accompanied by obedience to Jesus in repentance and good works.
The Bible is clear. Faith without works is DEAD. James 2:26: ”For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” Your faith in Christ will be judged by how you treat others.
@@HellenicPapist You're correct but the independent fundamental baptists that you are talking to believe the phrase "works of the law" refers to repenting of sin like murder, adultery, sorcery etc. Because their preachers stand behind the pulpit and preach that if you turn from sin then you will go to Hell for it, they believe salvation is by belief only. @@MichaelJohnson-ct6jp Does Jesus Christ need your help and contribution to save you? If you need to do works to "prove" that you're saved to God, then that is works based salvation, you must be perfect and sinless, that's impossible. There has to be a condition called faith without works in order for it to be called faith, or else they wouldn't call it faith. You notice that it doesn't say faith without works is in vain or pointless or something to that extent. An apple tree that doesn't produce fruit is still an apple tree. A dog without life is still a dog, just dead, it profits nobody. good for nothing. Which is exactly what James 2 is talking about, having works with your faith so it is profitable to OTHER PEOPLE. Sure you're saved, you're going to heaven, good for you, but how does that help your fellow people if you do nothing with that faith? James 2 is justification before MAN, man can't see your faith and what you truly believe on the inside, but they can see your works. The chapter also sticks in a few "my brethren", talking to saved people, we're way past salvation at this point, this is about perfecting the Christian walk, NOT to get saved. Compare Romans 4 with James 2, justification before God vs justification before man, it beats it in that it is without works, if you look at Romans 3:28 as the conclusion, a man is justified BY FAITH, WITHOUT the deeds of the law. So, it's not even a part of the equation for salvation. It doesn't say with a little bit of the deeds of the law, it says WITHOUT. Also it doesn't say in Romans 4:5 to him that worketh a little, it says worketh NOT. You didn't do any works to earn it to begin with, Christ did ALL the work necessary for you to be saved, so why would you need to do ANY works to prove that you're saved? Your works are filthy rags in the sight of God, so how are they a part of salvation? They're not, not even a little bit. The change that it talks about is on the inside, Paul delights in the laws of God after the inward man, but he also has the flesh, there will always be that war going on, the old man vs new man as long as you are in the flesh, until you die. 2 cor 5:17 says ALL THINGS are become new, if that change is on the outside, on your works, then wouldn't God just make you perfectly sinless? No, he gives you the freedom of choice to do what you should, he doesn't hijack your free will and force you to serve him. That's choice is up to you
I have a question, I don't mean to offend you, alright? I'm just curious. Faith alone (sola fide) implies that you're saved by your faith alone, since Christ has died for your sins and by believing in Him you're already saved? Or did I understand it incorrectly? Doesn't that explicitly mean that since He already died for our sins we only need to believe in him and are saved?

Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Amen, we are justified, once and for all, because of Christ Jesus. And because we are, we freely obey Him and walk by His Spirit allowing the Spirit to produce fruit in us that others may see it. Obedience is the result of salvation, not the way to it!
Jesus came preaching the kingdom of Heaven. We enter through his blood and belief in him and are transferred into the new kingdom and it's way Born again. It has rules as the kingdom of this world and must be obeyed. You choose which kingdom you obey.
What does obedience mean because the Bible makes it clear that sin is the transgression of the law and James tells us that he who keeps the whole law but stumbles at one point is guilty of breaking it all. So that vers lets us know that if God wants obedience he wants perfect obedience, also 1st John tells us that he who says he is without sin deceives himself so this verse tells us that we’re all disobedient so the question is what is obedience and what are we supposed to be obedient too? And I think you answer the question in this video
The Lord knows we are not going to be perfect in this wicked flesh and world. He knew this from the beginning/foundation of the world as his plan was to be our savior since then. That does not mean that he does not require/will for perfection from us, just as he is perfect. Our Lord and savior didn’t live a sinless life and die on the cross for us to continue living in our sins/death, but that every person would come to repentance and be given power and authority over death/sin. ”For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.“ Matthew 5:46-48 NKJV When we are disobedient or sin, we are supposed to immediately repent/turn from our ways. Repentance is not always saying I’m sorry or asking for forgiveness from the Lord, since a person can say these things and continue committing the same sin and repent cycle, but turning our backs on that sin and humbling ourselves enough to be deeply sorrowful for our transgressions. I hope this gives you more understanding! I’m not a babe in God’s word, but I am in the sense of studying to show myself approved.
Faith alone is dead. You even said in you reply that if we have Faith we Trust Christ and Trusting us a verb, an action, something we do as our loving response to our Father. There is NO distinction between Faith and works of love.
it cant be both its one or its the other Romans 11:6 “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”
@@havefaith4382 Reading this one verse in isolation, I can see how one can think this... but when you read all of Paul (and the rest of the Bible), Paul calls people to avoid sin and repent and become a slave for Christ... he is not saying in this verse that our works are opposed to Grace. God's gift to us to even be alive is an act of Grace. For us to know about Him through His Church AT ALL is a gift of Grace. But should our reply to that gift be one of arrogance that are works don't matter? Of course they do... I have never met a single devout protestant who loves God dearly who doesn't try and refrain from sin and live out their faith in works. So good Protestants and Catholics all live the same way, Catholics see that the works that we do are also an outpouring of God's Grace and that since we ARE the BODY of Christ on Earth, it is our witness and works that will lead others to know Christ. What if the Disciples had all said - yep - works don't matter. So we will just sit here and worship God and NOT GO TO ALL NATIONS and even DIE for their Faith. And then generation after generation did good works so that all of us today could know of Christ.
I haven't listened to him in a while, but what I love about him is how he actually exposes satans false gods and phophets using their own documents. He needs to realise tho in Christianity, we are saved by faith in Christ, not our good works.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8, KJV)
It is simple to me. Believe in what Jesus did for us. That he is alive and well sitting next to the Father. And letting Holy Spirit do good works through us. We must love God and others.
I think people are hung up on response verses like "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3 KJV...but other translations are pretty much the same). So obedience and love of God are tied hand and hand. But it is the order of them that matters. We don't obey God to be righteous, we obey God because He is righteous. We aren't saved by obedience, but because of our salvation we joyfully obey. His yoke IS easy and burden IS light!
I know one thing: people who know the truth and believe in it have no need to yell. When arguments fail ad hominems(logical fallacies to the person) and other rhetorical bullying rises
He doesn't have the Spirit of God. He shouts because he thinks communicating truth is done by the flesh through the flesh and salvation is done by the flesh through the flesh. Edit: The truth is only discernible by the Spirit of God in us. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
New World Order Bible Versions corrupt God's written word. In the King James Bible John 3:36 says nothing of the sort. It says believe, not obey. Hebrews 5:9 you obey Him by believing on the one He has sent.
Why does the KJV translate 'pisteuon' to 'believeth' and than translate 'apeithon' to 'believeth' in John 3:36 and then later in Romans 10:21 translate 'Apeithounta' to 'disobedient'? You accuse other versions of being corrupted, but here in John 3:36 the KJV translates two different words to 'believeth' while also saying that the word 'apeithounta' means 'disobedient'.
@@colonalklink14 That they do not mean the same thing which is confirmed later by KJV itself when it translates apeithountha to disobedient. If the author wanted the same word twice he would not use two different words in the same sentence.

@@perryrose2071 Oh yeah, sure. He didn't destroy anything. Nobody can "destroy" faith alone in Romans 4:5. Rom 4:5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, The quality of faith is what is in question throughout scripture. Demons believe but that is not biblical faith. Biblical faith is one that will work but works are not required for salvation. That is the point of Romans 4:5. Why people can't understand it, is beyond me. You can't get any clearer than Romans chapter 4. The Catholic cult has twisted scripture and prevents you from understanding it for yourself. Works come from faith and salvation not for it. We obey by first having faith then second by obeying his new covenant commandments. Faith alone compares to having love alone. It's like loving a spouse but God knows the heart. Showing love should be a response to the love you already have, not something you do to gain love. If we have love THEN we will show it. Many say they love and show it but they really don't in the heart and the spouse knows it. It's called "going through the motions." That is what scripture warns us about and why love alone must first be clarified from the works of love. A spouse does not truly love simply because of what is done for them but because they know they're loved and that love will be expressed. We don't keep his commandments to gain our love. We love him and then keep his commandments. Huge difference, even in human relationships. John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Sam Shamoun is a heretic just like all the Catholics who change the gospel from grace to works, by making our works necessary to the completed works of Christ. When we realize his love did it all for us then we can just love him purely and respond in loving obedience. 1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.
Sam Shamoun is easily refuted by understanding that scripture tells us to have faith is to be obedient. Rom_1:5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the *obedience of faith* for the sake of his name among all the nations, Rom_16:26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the *obedience of faith*
Sam Shamoun has changed the gospel from what Christ did for us to what we can do for ourselves. Catholic soteriology is like the saying, "God helps those who help themselves." Turning the gospel into Greek and Pagan mythology where a god must be appeased before granting a blessing. Praise the God of scripture who stands apart from such pagan nonsense. Jesus alone fulfilled the law covenant expectation of perfection with its curses on sin, on our behalf. The real gospel is what Jesus completely did for us (1Co 15:1 -4). He did for us what we could not do for ourselves. The only thing Jesus asks from us is to believe him. We respond to his salvation accomplished for us by trusting and loving him and then obeying him. The foundation is Christ. Our works of obedience will gain a reward but have no part in our salvation by faith alone in Christ alone. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw- (13) each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. (14) *If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. (15) If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.*
This is why anyone who is faith alone in doctrine, but uses a modern bible version ends up getting chewed up and spit out by these Lordship Salvation wolves. When they stand upon and apeal to a weak foundation (modern bibles), they can't win the battle against the devil's minions. When you have the right foundation however (the King James Bible), you're standing upon an unmovable, unchanging rock that the devil has no power to shatter. You end up wielding the indestructable sword of the Spirit that has the power to slay any false doctrine that tries to go against it. Unashamedly King James Only
@@Nighthawkinlight This very video Ono posted shows the fallacy of using the ESV to defend faith alone with it's faulty translation of John 3:36. Another false translation is 1 John 3:9: 1 John 3:9 ESV 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's[a] seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 👆There's your hint of lordship theology right there This verse in the ESV corrupts the word of God and fails to teach the doctrine of the sinless perfection of the inner spirit man that's created when we get saved. Here's the real verse: 1 John 3:9 KJV Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. The false translation="makes a practice of sinning" True translation="doth not commit sin" The new creature within us does not sin at all whatsoever. When the saved individual sins, it's the flesh, not the born again spirit.
People like sam shamen that go to the greek and hebrew are so humble lol like corey minor (in intelligence and majors in pride) of the so smart Christian channel 😂 .. their works are so pure like fresh snow its a wonder they even need to use clickbait titles
"We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:14-15 KJV). Correction, reproof, and rebuke should be in gentleness and love toward our brethren!
@@woidonmiguel1 they ain't the breathern or my brothers in Christ .. sending people to hell with their lies and twisting of the scriptures .. I got no love for devils
@@nonamejustbecause5130 well, they could be immature brethren who haven't been correctly taught doctrine. Even Paul had to rebuke Peter, but both were saved. And even if they aren't brothers in Christ, to say you have no love for them is concerning, because our Lord literally died because of His love for them. And we should do the same. Loving the enemy is hard, but while we were enemies Christ died for us and we should imitate Him.

@@nonamejustbecause5130 by no means am I making things all about love. I am absolutely not advocating that. God is love, but He is Holy and will pour out His wrath upon the wicked. But we are commanded to love our neighbors as ourselves. That doesn't mean affirming sin or wrong doing. But when we do rebuke, we should do it in gentleness (which is loving). 2 Timothy 2:24-26 "And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will."
I agree with you Onorato, obedience is the result Of our Faith. It is because of this Faith that God has given us( because it’s a gift of God) the believer can act in obedience to a sovereign God. In other words, obedience is the product of our faith in Christ.
The Pharisees were the most strict sect of jews yet they were unsaved, and got called vipers etc... It's amazing how people think their obedience is saving them... When the truth is only obedience you can get right is to believe in Jesus ( John 6:40 ) which is the will of God...
I like how he read the definition of the word "to be persuaded" and kept moving on as if he could not see it. To obey the gospel is to believe the gospel, to be persuaded hence to be strong in faith and to glorify God like Abraham Rom 4:20 by full confidence in him, He can and will save to the uttermost all those who draw near him through Christ Heb 7:25, ours is to obey the gospel as opposed to not being persuaded and effectively calling God a liar, rejecting him as king and paying the due penalty inequity for our ways are unequal and his ways are all equal Ezekiel 18:29
Obedience is believing in Him abd in believing being made obedient. It is interesting to see how Roman Catholic Sam has become. He has tremendous Biblical recall so i wonder how long this can persist without him feeling he needs to block all their hierarchical obstacles to the simple Gospel and clericalism. May he and his ministry be blessed and pleasing to God always.
Ephesians 2 SEV - ኤፌሶን 8: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9: not by works, so that no one can boast. 10: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Continue to pray for Sam that his eyes are opened and that he sees the truth and that he comes back to putting his faith in Jesus Christ. Be loving brothers pray and mourn petition to God for our brother don’t let anger or frustration overtake you!
It's always that spirit of pride, that's makes even God loving men fall into error, Sam has had very many good Scripture backed debates, but at some point, he seems have chosen being right over Truth. Pray for him, and pray for ourselves, we all have the same curse!
There are people who believe but are disobedient so that makes there faith invalid and vain, Paul spoke about this, we can not conclude until we read all scriptures. There are a set of people who are "the saved always saved" that take grace and think they can trample all over it because of this misconception, is like "I know how to drive so I don’t need to carry my license type thing, only those who LOVE God will understand FAITH!
Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV [8] For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Nice try satan
I disagree with Sam on this one and I think it may have to do with the language used in this case. I can't think of anyone in the US, including in the Sola brethren, that view this that way. To the those that commented on his behavior - this is literally how they act on that side of the world. Even the very same Muslims, when debating, do it to each other. You can also see this occur in London at the Speaker's Square when these discussions take place.
We are saved by the GRACE of God, through faith in Christ. Are works are evidence of Gods grace working in our life's. Thats why it is said " Show me your faith without works and ill show you my faith by my works" This does not mean works also saves us. Let it be far from any of us to ever put anything in front or next to the sacrifice of Christ! All glory be to him! Amen
The problem with some teachers is they don t understand Jesus was speaking to Jews under the law... And off course.. Jesus was preaching the Kingdom of heaven.not the same gospel of the Kingdom of God We are gentiles..Paul is our apostole..and Paul was send to preach the salvation to gentiles..and we gentiles were dead and separete from God. When we believe in Jesus and trust in his perfect blood shed on the cross we are save Forever Sealed and batized into the body of Crist Faith Alone in Crist Alone To the Kingdom of God.our works don t count Salvation is a free gift ❤
and don't forget it's faith in his blood that saves us... many also preach a bloodless gospel. AMEN! Robert Breaker is a excellent teacher and it's so amazing about these dispesnsations... I read now the Gospels and it makes so much sense! It's to the mil kingdom gospel not for us.
Many will disagree because many wants to be saved but they dont want to let go off their old self. John 14:15 & 21 is a classic example. If you love God you will obey Him. Do not get me wrong here. Salvation is by Grace alone, by Faith alone in Christ alone and no amount of good works that we do can get us that it is only by the shed blood of Christ on the Cross that one can have salvation. But many Christians forget that obedience is also a very key element in our Christian life. Why?? Because it is an evidence that we have been saved
I think I've said this before but I have a list of over forty scripture passages that clearly and unequivocally state that salvation comes from BELIEVING in Jesus Christ. While the Old Testament does not contain the name of Jesus, it certainly supports the concept of justification by faith. Of course, it also speaks of the messiah extensively. God bless you Ono for the work you do for the body of Christ.
@@HellenicPapist what are you getting at exactly? Firstly, when you say "if you don't obey" Are you referring to the ten commandments? Are you saying that if you disobey even one commandment - that your faith in Christ is void?

For those who are uncertain about this, feel free to.research what The Apostles and those who learned at their feet preached/taught. Think of it like this. A leader, if you have faith in that leader, you are going to obey that leader. You believe that they see a bigger picture and trust that they will lead you righteously. The words are synonymous in a sense. To have faith is to obey and to obey is to believe in. A nice little Trinity. A bit circular as well as these words have feed back loops into each other.
