Sam Walton is one of the most important business icons for serious entrepreneurs to study. His name is synonymous with the American Dream. From humble beginnings as a small-town merchant with only $5,000 dollars in savings, Sam founded Walmart and scaled it into a $400 billion dollar retail empire. When he died in April 1992, Sam Walton was the richest person in the world.
But his journey to completely transform the retail industry, and in the process, make the Walton’s the richest family in America - was far from easy. In this video I’ll share what I learned from studying Sam Walton and reading his incredible book “Made in America.”
- ABOUT PROBABLY SOMETHING -
Hey, I'm Kunal. I'm a Swedish founder in NYC and ex-investment banker at Lazard (M&A). You can think of this as my personal business blog, but in video format.
I create videos revolving around finance, biz strategy, wealth creation and mental models to help me better understand our complex world. My goal is to constantly challenge myself to become a better business operator, investor and thinker by studying world class founders and investors. I hope this channel will help you do the same.
Having worked with some of the sharpest minds on Wall Street and more recently, founding a consumer healthcare startup, I've learned that the best way to understand Wall Street and Silicon Valley is to focus on the fundamentals. Foundational knowledge and studying the greats is the key to learning - not get-rich-quick schemes.
Just sharing what I'm learning along the way and documenting my journey - nothing on here should be considered financial advice.
