Mark Leonard is one of the greatest capital allocators on the planet. But few people have even heard of him. The Canadian billionaire investor refuses to talk to the media and only 3 pictures of him can be found online. Why? Because Mark wants his numbers to do the talking.
And talking they are. The ultra-secretive billionaire, who looks like a real-life Gandalf, has quietly built a $40 billion dollar empire while conquering the world of enterprise software. Mark Leonard founded Constellation Software in 1995 at age 39 and has, since its IPO in 2006, compounded the company’s share price at 34% annually. That’s a solid 130x.
I’m obsessed with people who have figured out a way to build wealth in a consistent and reliable way. Mark Leonard reminds me of an alternate-universe Warren Buffett so I decided to read everything I possibly could about him, including every shareholder letter he’s written since 2007. In this video, I’ll share what I learned.
- ABOUT PROBABLY SOMETHING -
Hey, I'm Kunal. I'm a Swedish founder in NYC and ex-investment banker (Lazard M&A). You can think of this as my personal business blog, but in video format.
I create videos about finance, business strategy, M&A and mental models to help me better understand our complex business world. Through my work, I've mostly covered tech, media, healthcare, sports and holdcos so those are naturally the topics I gravitate towards.
My goal is to constantly challenge myself to become a better business operator, investor and thinker by studying world class founders, financiers and investors. I hope this channel will help you do the same.
Just sharing what I'm learning along the way and documenting my journey - nothing on here should be considered financial advice.
