Samantha Irby reads from her book, "Meaty", at Politics and Prose on 4/10/18.
Irby’s sharp and earthy debut collection of essays, now reissued, marked the arrival of a seriously talented and transgressive feminist humorist, one who’s risen into the stratosphere in the wake of last year’s We Are Never Meeting in Real Life. Five years later, these pieces still pack a punch and draw as many laughs as they did the first time around. From failed relationships to tacos to Crohn’s disease, Irby treats everything with the candor and irreverence that keeps people so addicted to her “Bitches Gotta Eat” blog.

I really like this presentation. Sidebar - I was introduced to Iceberg Slim by a girlfriend and reading his works opened my eyes - Pimp, Trick Baby, Airtight Willie & Me etc - So I have not read her books or blogs - but just listening to her now - I want to read her work. She will probably peel something from the depths of my mind - like Iceberg Slim did...

Please do the advice podcast with Lindy West. Dear Sugar made me feel weird and gnarly. I daydreamed one that is more at home with the premise that the world is shitty and skewed and that sometimes you live on cereal. Now you have filled in the presenter gaps in that daydream....
