*Tracklist translation and some background info for the songs:* 1. Jo Hanki Haihtuu ("The Snow Disappears") 2. Sammal ("Moss") 3. Mehtän Kultainen Kuningas ("The Golden King of the Forest") 4. Köyry 5. Kalmanväki ("The Crowd of Death") The first track is a poem by Eino Leino depicting a scene in a swamp where the melting snow reveals skulls of several soldiers. They talk with each other for a while about how they died until they drown in the mud. The third track combines parts of different traditional poems and songs about the rituals related to bear hunting: the hanging of the skull in a pine tree and the soothing of the bear spirit by making it believe its death was caused by an accident. The fourth track refers to a spirit that died unnaturally before his/her time. The spirit, köyry, will remain between two "moaning" trees until the day they were really supposed to die. The fifth track is about the end of reincarnation. In the old Finnish beliefs ancestors are reborn into the family as long as people remember who the original person was. Once the ancestor is forgotten the cycle of reincarnation is broken and he/she will join the faceless, featureless crowd of spirits known as the old crowd or the crowd of death.
